I got that same line of crap about 5 days/30 days. They shouldn't be calling me in the first place, so if they call again within that period, the first words out of my mouth will be "Hang on while I hook up my recorder. I opted out, but you should not have been calling in the first place, so I need this tape as evidence for my report to the FTC and my small claims lawsuit for damages."

This is the second solicitation call I have received since giving my second line to XM Sirius Satellite (the other was one of those timeshare scams). I previously changed my "marketing preferences" (they opt you in for this crap automatically) but obviously they sold my number to everyone they possibly could before I did it. I called back and pressed the opt out options, but I am really pissed at Sirius XM...business partners my a**!

A phone call to me this morning from this number purported to be from a bank with which I have an account. The caller began by thanking me for my business. Then he said that he wanted to offer me a $200,000 life insurance policy which he would send to me for 30-day review. He said it would protect my surviving spouse and children (I have neither) when I die. I started laughing as soon as he said "die" because it seemed like an odd word to utter to a stranger whose privacy you are violating (also, my BIRTHday is tomorrow - a big one, in fact). He stopped when I laughed and asked me to continue. I said, simply, "uh, uh, you don't need to send that to me".
