Keep getting message that prescription is ready at rite aid. Have not used this pharmacy, but called in case doc sent order there by mistake. Knew nothing about it. The phone message does not give a telephone number to call. Sounds like it could be phishing, and the "rite aid employee" is wrong to criticize people when so many tele-crooks use legitimate business names to get personal info (such as date of birth, ssn, etc.)

Rite aid may have a legitimate service but it's likely these calls are unrelated.

Dear Rite Aid Assoc. Are you out of your f***ing mind????? No customer wants to be reminded by a live person of the names of their medications. That's way too much private information. And what the hell do you care and why are you, a lowly assoc., trying to help a multi-million dollar corp that could care less about you? Like Rite aid needs you to help them talk on this page. They need to get rid of you just like they need to get rid of this so-called customer service number. But I don't care what they do anymore. They made one too many calls to me and I switched all my meds to another pharmacy! Bam!

I received a call on my cell from this number. I picked up, they said nothing. I said, "I don't know who the f*** you are - but if you aren't going to speak, don't call me." I hung up on them. Then I called them back anonymously on another line. A woman answered, "This is Karen Martin, with Rite Aid pharmacy - can I have your number with the area code, please?" I said nothing. After she said, "Hello?" I asked her to repeat what she said, and she did. I tested her with a few other things. Her tone and response, told her lack of innocence - she had that "You have no idea what I'm up to" thing going on. It was weird. I told her that everyone knows they aren't Rite Aid, that people are on to them, that they really need to find something better to do with their free time, and quit f***ing with people. Then I hung up on her.
LISTEN UP, FOLKS: I just called 1-800-RITE-AID to report this phone number, and what went down. I spoke to a Sally, who told me that the Rite Aid company does NOT have any call format like the one used with me. Rite Aid only has one relevant toll-free number (to customers) - and that is the 1-800-RITE-AID. Any other toll free numbers which may exist (IF they do)are deeper, internal numbers within the company - which are not accessible by or used to access, customers. Rite Aid has some 4500 stores - and NONE of them have toll free numbers; they are local numbers with area codes. I gave Sally the number, and she didn't recognize it. She also is reporting these imposters, to the company.

Remember that any legit business will SPEAK when you answer the phone, and will NOT call and ask for personal information without a valid premise you BOTH are aware of. So don't give these perps anything. Hang up on these sons-of-b***hes.

First off, let me just say that I am a Rite Aid Copr. employee although I am posting this on my own free time and under NO direction to do so from the company.

As of late there has been a lot of missinformation floating about with these calls. The reason the ask for your year of birth or birth date is to verify that it is the person they are trying to reach. By law they MUST verify this.
The reason that anyone receives one of these calls is that a "flag" has been marked by the computer system in your local pharmacy that notes if a script has gone beyond its scheduled fill date. This is a service designed to make sure that you are getting your meds on time and if you're not they can get it put in to be refilled for you.

It's simple enough to get removed from this program if you should so choose, just call your local pharmacy or 800-RITE-AID and they can get it all taken care of. If anyone in the local store tells you they know nothing about it then you may need to speak with someone else as you've seemingly gooten someone who has no idea what they're talking about. (sadly in the modern american retail environment you'll have this from time to time)

Or just answer the call and it will connect you to a rep, and you can simply tell them to take you off.

Most of what i'm reading here seems to indicate that a great majority of you are creating your own peoblem with a noxious cocktail of equal parts paranoia, and lack of logical thinking.

If we all just take a breath and think things through calmly we just might get the answers we want.

these comment are MY OWN and not that of the Rite Aid Corp. so if any of this has offended you in any way, please, feel free to blame me personally.
NOT Rite Aid.

I would think that the call is to maintain compliance because a LOT of people do not take their meds as directed by the prescriber.  Might not make sense to a lot of people but it is true

Call 1 800 riteaid and they will take your number off  so "hopefully" the calls will stop.

Let's see now, when I take my meds, they think I can't see the bottle is nearly empty and needs refilling?????
They think I need a call to know this???
I don't take meds cause I am stupid...... Maybe Corporate RiteAid workers SHOULD!!!!! dumbasses!

Wow -- some people don't understand the Do Not Call registry.

Anyone who has a "business relationship" with you is exempt from the do not call list.  SO - if you had a prescription filled at Rite Aid, you have a business relationship and therefore, they have every right to call you.

Still - you can choose if you are willing to talk to a computer and you can certainly refuse to give info over the phone... and you can request they don't provide you with this service or else you won't have a business relationship any longer.

I called back from my cell phone so they wouldn't have my name, and as was noted by others the lady who I talked to was a biiiiiitch. She kept asking for my name and whether I was a RA customer. I told her it was none of her damn business, I gave her my home phone only for a reference, and said she had no business calling here, that my pharmacy has my information.

She kept drilling me trying to getpersonal information but I wouldn't give it to her. I told her I would be filing a complaint with the FTC if they kept calling.

Crappy way to maintain your customer base.

Rite-Aid repeatedly called me at the crack of dawn via this number, after I requested three times that they stop, continuing after I informed them that they were violating the Do Not Call registry. It took a complaint to the FTC to make the bastards stop. Do they honestly think that enraging customers is a good way to retain us?

My experience is the same as everyone else's. I assume it is a phishing phone call. I have had calls from Rite Aid telling me my prescription is ready. Those calls simply give information. They don't ask questions or leave voice mail.

Same here - message says, "This is an automated courtesy call from RiteAid Pharmacy".  Then the call is disconnected.

I called back, they confirmed my name and number.  They had prescription information for me, including medication and physician info.  It could be some form of pretexting I suppose.  Seems unlikely.

They called about a medication that may be due for a refill.  The call appears to be a service where they reach out to customers via phone if they see that the customer didn't refill a prescription by the expected time.

I called the # back after receiving a few voice mails and it IS a Rite Aid Customer Service Line.  They simply indicated that I had a prescription that was due to be refilled (which I did) and they wanted to know if I wanted them to generate the refill for me.  They also asked me if I needed to speak to a pharmacist about any of my prescriptions.  I think they have just stepped up their customer service and are making every effort to KEEP their existing pharmacy customers...competition is steep with the Wal-Mart $4 prescriptions.  Although I can understand why someone would think it was fishy initially, I know from my conversation with them that it was legit.  Hope this helps!

they said it is a reminder that you have a presciption that is almost up for refill   DUH!!!

 I have lodged my complaint!
and told them I am also reporting it to the ATTY GENS OFFICE

THIS IS RIDICULOUS for a company to be doing this -- and asking for personal info!!

Just called Rite Aid (1800-RITE-AID) and talked to someone I actually trusted to be an employee. It took a little work on her part (she had never heard of this number either) but she did find out it is a call made out by the computer on behalf of RA, and she said they had been receiving complaints so it would probably not go on much longer, but she did block my number.

I did tell her that odd phone calls like this in this day and age were likely to scare customers off. She agreed.

The robocall we received would state "Hello, this is Rite Aid Pharmacy Services, is this .................? (our name) Please call 1-866-2192430 blah blah blah.  I called it once and it just another robotic voice asking name, date of birth....FORGET ABOUT IT!
I called The RITE AID CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE 1-800-748-3243 and spoke with a pleasant and REAL person who took my complaint and promised to remove our name from their courtesy call list. I asked her to also please direct my comment to the management that such a "courtesy" is not appreciated by a lot of people (and probably not the brightest customer service idea!)

There is another number you may also get a call from.  866-219-2430.  I got a call last week.  Maybe they've changed it this month because the other one got shut down after you informed Rite Aid and they took the appropriate measures.  It sounds like the same scam.  I was suspicious because 1) they called my office number [only left half the message on my voice mail because it didn't wait for my outgoing message to finish first] and 2) I'm in Vancouver, BC and there are no Rite Aid pharmacies in Canada.  The closest one is Blaine, WA and I've never been a customer.

I have been getting afew calls telling me a prescrition was due to be filled and then there have been other calls that ask for information and I have not givn it. I am not sure if all the calls have been calls from Rite Aid though some might have been. I called the local store and they said they do give reminder calls sometimes, but I should not give information out.  I would think they would notify the National store, but the local store just sounded annoyed I called.  I am planning on changing to a pharmacy that is not a chain.
Another call I am getting is to give money for breast cancer. I have gotten calls about that every year, but these calls do NOT sound right. In the past they ask me to collect money from neighbors and they will send me envleopes to give each of the neighbors with receipts etc.
