Robo call looking for "Jane Hoarder" (is that a real name?)

We are on the DO NOT CALL registry and get tons of collection calls for former tenants of my building.

I received a call from 877-533-7006 this morning asking for someone I didn't know but wrote down the number and the caller ID said "CCA". it also said if you are not sss, call 877-5337006 to remove your number from the database.  after a couple hours, also from my law firm employer, was hung up on.

I got a call a couple hours later from a friend of mine saying she also got a call from this company "ESBCA" for me leaving the same number.  These people are back-tracing from any numbers that my home phone has dialed !

THIS IS AGAINST THE LAW AND A COMPLAINT WILL BE FILED.  I WILL POST THE ADDRESS OF WHERE TO GO.

I called this number back a month ago...and it just hung up on me...then I felt like I was probably getting sucked into somekind of scam...same number called today...I wont be calling it back.

Received automated phone message asking me if I knew how to get in touch with a Steve Greaves and to have him phone this number.  I hung up since I have no information on that person.

I got the same message from that number (one business date, time sensitive matter, etc.).  Looking for someone.  They said they would delete my number from their database, but informed me it could take up to 48 hours.

I got a call and it said to call back within 1 biz day and that it was a time sensitive matter.  Called back and found that it was a Collection Agency.  Wrong person, deleted me number from their database.

Number is calling my parents looking for me. I called from my phone number and it just rings.  Unable to find company

I keep recieving calls asking me to call 877-533-7006 by 7PM and give them a file number. However, they don't say who they are or why they are calling, so I choose to ignore them. Probably just another scam artist to try to get both your identity and money.

I got the same call and it said "CCA" in the caller ID. It told me to call and give an account number, which they had provided me with. I blocked my number when I called back and it put me through. The first words I heard were "This is an attempt to collect a debt on behalf of AT&T." Enough Said......*click*

The automated message said it was a time sensitive call (Saturday evening)and they were looking for someone not even at my number and when I tried to call back Tuesday morning, the phone just rings and rings.

I've gotten repeated voicemail messages for someone else (merisol gonzales) of the "important business matter" type. they supply a case number to give to them if I were to call their number, which I haven't. As they're not looking for me, nor anyone related to me, nor is this phone number new to me (I've had it for 5+ years) I'm not sure what they're trying to accomplish

called and informed them that my number was a DO NOT CALL number.  They said they weren't telemarketers and were looking for someone called merino.  I said, who are you guys? woman replied, who are you? asked for my number which i gave but because i didn't give my name she said she wouldn't remove my number.  completely rude and obnoxious.
called back, talked to someone else and removed my number without giving my name.
total scam.  they say they are CCA and wouldn't describe themselves any more than that.  highly suspect.

I've received quite a few of these calls since Nov 08.  It stopped for a few weeks, but they are at it again.  The thing is, for the last 7years I have worked in the Loss Prevention/Detection enviornment of financial institutions and trust NO ONE that does not leave company information.  There are too many people out there phishing for info and not just in emails. Anyway, after reading the comments here, I am wondering why the heck they would be contacting me.  I used to have an account with AT&T as a landline for 4 years, but that changed when I moved out of CA to AZ 1.5 years ago. And when I left, I had a credit that was sent to me.  Hmmm, let them keep calling, I won't be calling back.  Good thing I never answer calls that come through as "unknown" or "unavailble". If my friends have their numbers blocked, they know to leave a mssg so I can call them back.

Same call as mentioned earlier - message to my machine saying it was a time-sensitive call on a matter of business and please call back within 24 hours to the number listed above. Man's voice on message. Call was around 7:15 PM on 2/28/09.

Recieve a call requesting that i call this number. No businees name or the name they were trying to reach just that it was a time senitive personnal business matter.

My answering machine received the same call with wording identical to Jennifer above. Except the requested number to call is 877-208-4176. Since I am current on all my bills, I filed a complaint with the National Do Not Call Registry. I did not call the number.

I made the mistake of calling these people back, the identified themselves as CCA and as what number I was calling from, then they put me on hold for about 5 minutes, I just hung up.  Now I am afraid that they are one of those scams that charges an extra ordinary amount of money per minute.

Just got another call from the same number while reading these comments. This time it was a female's voice.

Said the call was for S. Sacco.  I do know someone by that name but said I don't.  How in the heck did they get my number???? Unless they have access to his phone records!  Scary thought.

These people keep calling me leaving messages for me to call back right away and its very important.  When I call them back they are looking for someone that I do not even know and I have told them SEVERAL times they have the wrong number and to stop calling me.  The people are ALWAYS EXTREMELY rude, disrespectufl and unprofessional!  It is shocking how horrible they are!  I just cannot beleive how they act, that they are still in business and why they cannot get it right and take my number out of their system!  This is soooooo FRUSTRATING!!!

They keep calling me asking for a Larry Pumpfree. Its getting infuriating because I work at a daycare and they call right during nap time. I just called back a second time (didn't get an answer the first time) and talked to the lady, explaining I was not Larry and that they call during naptime at a daycare. Before I could finish talking the lady dismissed me and quickly hung up. Its getting aggrivating.

OMG! These people are ridiculous! They called AGAIN! I called back and the first lady told me that it takes 12-24 hours to no longer receive a call back. I asked her that they please not call again. She says they won't but of COURSE they do, right at nap time to wake up the sleeping daycare kids. This time I call back a different lady calls and tells me it takes 48 hours for the list to take effect.

By boss decided to prank call them over and over and they began to grow annoyed. They accused her of being me and said "Well mam, we put you on the do not call list but if you keep calling us we can just take you right off and keep calling you everyday." Not at all professional but I think I'm just going to have friends keep on pranking them.

It is ATT, I owe them 18.22 from an old account.

Automated message that keeps calling asking for my daughter who no longer lives at home. It says to push 2 if this person does not live here anymore. I push 2, but they keep calling back! Annoying!!

Still going strong--where is enforcement? DOZENS (!) of automated calls last few months, even a few live callers. Repeatedly informed them I am not the "Douglas Newton, Jr." they are supposedly looking for, and requested they quit calling--to no avail, of course.  This smells like a scam to get your billing info & commit fraud. Shut them down NOW!!!

CCA is now, apparently MCM.  Same phone number, same crap, different name.  I've been getting automated calls for months for someone with the same first name and a last name that I've never even heard of, ever, Kentop(p).  I finally was home when they called last week and talked to someone that was supposedly entering my number as "wrong number."  I assumed they must be using the computer to call all Jennifer's in the area until I happend to be at my parents house ~30 miles away today and "Brenda" called there asking for Jennifer.  My father puts me on the phone, "Yes, Ms. Kentop..." How they have that number along with my home number I have no idea but I was pissed and told them that I'm not "Ms. Kentop" and to remove that number from their calling list too.  I immediately got online to get my credits reports and I don't see anything glaring but I can't imagine what the connection is between me and this person - I literally have never heard the name "Kentop" ever.  We'll see if the calls stop...

Numerous calls from this number over the last couple of months.  Sick and tired of the messages on the answering machine and those when you answer.  Message is auto recorded stating a portion of our correct last name.  Then goes on to say that if this is not (fill in the blank), then it is illegal to listen to the rest of this message.  If it is ______ then to call this number right away regarding a time sensitive and urgent matter regarding a collection.  They also give you a case number.  I called them back and asked to be removed from their call list as this was not ______.  They ask then who was it.  I foolishly told them they had the name wrong but it was close.  At that point the lady (named Dawn Jackson) told me that it was most likely the correct person and in the state of California I was allowed to answer their questions.  She then asked me to verify our street address and the last 4 digits of my husbands social security number.   I told her I wouldn't do such a thing over the phone and mentioned that I had google this phone number and determine that many people felt this was a non legit request.  At that point, she changed her polite tone and used an assertive one and said that they were legit and had an urgent manner to be address and perhaps I should have my husband call her.  I told her he would not being doing so because we'd had the calls many times before and obviously they are looking for the wrong person.  She told me since the first name was correct and a portion of the last name was correct that in fact it was the right person and they would continue to call any time during the day or night that they wanted to.  They didn't have to stop calling me because this was not a solicitation call.  At that point she sternly suggested again that my husband call because she was documenting our file with this new "correct name" information and that I was being non cooperative.

They just said it was a time sensitive call and to call back within one day.
They didn't give a company name or any other information.

Greeting is automated, "Please leave a message for Antonio Miller at the beep"
