I called them and they asked for information about my citimortgage account.. So i called citimortgage number on their website. The said everything is ok and they didnt call me.

Someone from this number called my mother, identified themselves as Citimortgage...and asked for my address.  Now why would a mortgage company that finances mortgage loans...have to ask for an address they supposedly finance?  Hmmmm.  Thank God my mother didn't give out any information.

Was called today by somebody looking for me, had been told it was a "Personal Business Matter" for Citibank. Looked up the given phone # online, then called Citibank at their number. Person at Citibank did not say whether or not the number was false, but she did state that if someone had called me, there would have been notes on the account, and there were none. I also checked my account online and it looked okay. I also checked my Citimortgage account, and it looked fine.

My mother got a call from someone who barely spoke English looking for me. She told them that she would not give them my number but that she would take thiers and have me call them bcak. I looked the number up here first then called. The woman who answered wanted my account number, which I do not have an account. When I told her this, she asked me for my phone number. I told her that I was not giving her my number, that I knew that this was a scam and that I was going to report them. To this she did not deny that this was scam but again asked for my phone number. I repeated that I was reporting this and hung up.

Got a call from a lady who said she was from citi group asked if she could talk to X, who is a friend of mine.  Then asked that he would call that number to verify his address. X never had an account with citi and never supplied anyone with my phone number instead of his own.  An apparent scam.

For what it's worth, I called the service number from my statement after receiving this message. The lady I talked to put me on hold, said she called this number and asked for the person's name and employee number which did check out in their internal directory. She also said there was no note on my account and she had no clue why they would have called... It's certainly possible this is a scam.. I'm not convinced it's not yet, but the people on the other end apparently know legit names and employee numbers. Be nice if Citi could confirm this on their web site.

I too got a message from "citimortgage" at 877-541-7005. They asked for all of my personal information and then said my account was up-to-date so not worry. TOTAL scam.

I recieved a call yesterday from "citimortgage". They had left a voicemail asking me to call back, which I did. They needed to "verify" my account information even though they already had accurate information. I'm not sure if it was a scam or not. Lets just hope not!! I asked him for his employee number and office location which he provided, but what does that really do??

Received a call from this number on voice mail.  Said they were calling from Citi Mortgage. I called Citi Mortgage and was told that no one had called me and that there was no problem with my account.

said they are citi morgage but could not verify the number.
asked a lot of personal information and hung up
