They are calling me too.  They hang up as soon as I answer.  This tactic is classic collection agency stuff.  I recently defaulted on a credit card and that's when the calls started.  I doubt that its Direct TV.  They would not hang up on a potential sale.  Someone may want us to think its Direct TV, but this animal looks, walks and sounds like a collection agency engaging in illegal activity.

this number called yesterday. my spouse answered it. the caller said they were Direct TV and ask about the service. my spouse complained about  new fee they keep adding called "local Sports". which we did not order. the caller said they had 3 months HBO and Cinemax for free, but my spouse kept telling them to take off the fee we did not order and we are not interested in another gimmic.and the caller faded out and disconnected.  So my spouse called them back and they answered the phone "WALMART"  !!!!!.  So what on earth is Walmart doing with access to our Direct TV account.?!?!?! This is supreme example of violation of privacy issue. Then Walmart tried to sell "coupons" with only a "shipping fee" and whoever my spouse reached seemed to have no clue about Direct TV, only wanted to send "coupons" and make someone pay this "shipping fee" so this is a "bait and switch" scam from Walmart. I called Walmart 800 number and was given another number and filed ethics complaint about privacy issues. How on earth and what business is it of Walmart about our Direct TV account, and HOW did they get ahold of this information. I also called Direct TV about it and they were not concerned about this privacy breach.and gave me $10 credit on account. We do not shop electronics at Walmart nor did we ever purchase Direct TV service from Walmart, nor ever gave Walmart any info about any other accounts we have nor do we have any cards from Walmart.

They called me just a few minutes ago (8:30pm). No legitimate business would make a business call that late. They hung up on me when I answered, so I assume it was probably a robo caller. I normally do not answer the phone when the caller is from a number I do not recognize, but I have a family member in the hospital right now, so I answered it thinking it could be the hospital. These type of calls are such a nuisance!

Just called, second time this week,again no I.D. I assume from above posts that it was direct t.v.,The Bait and Switch champions, using a call center because you are such a valued customer.  They don't even realize that they are being "taken" by the call center who doesn't give a rats a** if they make contact with  a customer or not. How many direct tv customers really want to talk to these con artists anyway, except to get out of their rotten contracts?

You need to read the terms of the Do Not Call list: Only telemarketing calls ? trying to sell you goods or services ? are forbidden. Your "call and no message" caller is not violating these terms. You are wasting everyone's time and taxpayer dollars by reporting these non-violating calls. Please stop it.

The "do not call" list is a joke. I have reported dozens of numbers over the years & nothing is done. This # calls me at least once a day, never leaves a message. If it is DirecTV like others say, we don't have their service & have told them so.

Negotiate with directv ONCE a year.  Tell them (1). I have been with you since you were 50 million strong and now you're down to 30 million.  (2) Upgrading is not the same as UPDATING.  Since 2007 they have put up 4 more satellites and most of us are still only directed to 1 not 5.  (3) I refuse to wait for you people to credit me 90 days down the road for payments that I make now..99% of the time they do not credit you.  (4) If you are bundled talk to whoever you are bundled with FIRST as I do in my case ATT.  ATT will credit you immediately.  (5) keep a calendar and write down who you talked to and when and the subject.  They hate it when you can whip up the dates you've talked to them and who you had the conversation with.  I negotiated a 46.43 for the choice package for ONE year (a month) and they agreed.  When you talk to them realize that every 1$ overcharged to every customer means 30 MILLION in extra income for them a MONTH.  READ YOUR BILL and never let them just take it out automatically.  Last but not least ask to speak to someone in the US.  It employs Americans

John Rose is a name they use in sales when they are making outbound calls. He does not exist. They will keep calling until  you call them and get them to either opt you out of ad and email contacts on your account or if you are not a customer then ask to be removed from their call list or register with donotcall.gov

I am a customer of DirecTV, so I contacted them directly after calling back this number and recieved the 'recording' that all rep's were busy.  DirecTV was unaware regarding this process, the representative at DirecTV is looking into to try and correct the problem.

Could possibly be a competitior damaging their reputation....
