Same thing here!  Signing up for job info has become a real pain in the butt!  I understand that these people have their jobs to do but enough is enough!  I blocked the number!

Probably; I started receiving calls from this number yesterday.  I've been looking for work; I may have subscribed to a site (I'm not sure) and reaping the "benefits" now.

Scamming criminals love it when you call back because it confirms your number and they can sell it to other crooks to put on more sucker lists so you get more junk phone calls.

Best thing to do is either hang up, waste their time, and/or blow a loud whistle or airhorn into the phone after speaking softly so the telescammer turns up it headset.

Just call the number back and follow the prompts to have your number removed from their database.

I'm job hunting too, and do this each and every time I get a call from a robo-dialer or telemarketer trying to sell me crap I don't want or need.

You can always tell the number isn't a valid job offer, as they never leave a message.  Gigats is notorious for this, so don't apply for a job through their website or any affiliates.

Monster.com, Indeed.com, CareerBuilder and LinkedIn are all valid job search sites and you won't be bombarded by phone calls from people trying to sell you 'educational opportunities'.

Contact BBB. Even though they have no accreditation you can file a complaint. And they are aware of this number, which is linked to your contact information through job sites, esp Gigats.

I'm not sure I that was a good thing or smart thing to do, though now they have your phone number and Email address. Wish you luck though, Alli.

I do agree with you. I understand the first few calls. I even called, got automated message, opted out from future calls. All to no avail. Even though they are not accredited with BBB you can call and file complaint and miraculously the calls finally stopped.

You can call the 1-800 do not call list. They say it doesn't work on cell phones but it has on mine. They haven't been able to call me after that.

Get a "google voice" number - you can get one on the google site.  I use this for any questionable 'required phone number' spaces online.  It will ring thru to any phone number you want, but makes the caller announce themselves so you can decide to take the call or have it go to a google voicemail.  When it gets overloaded, I just drop the number and get another.  You never have to give out your real number to  these scammers again.  Best part - it's free!

Received a call regarding something about education. I inquired and they said that I had sent them a request for information about getting education. I let them ask questions until they began to ask questions that seemed dangerously close to that of identity thieves. I halted the call telling them that the questions being asked were not needed for " a request" for information for education. Watch out, this maybe one of those companies that begins to gather information for ID Theft.
