My voicemail said she was from ABC... same deal, though, airfare and a cruise won from a contest we entered last year.

Just received a call saying me & my spouse(even though I don't have a spouse) won a caribbean vacation. No pressure, no time share, etc.....if it sounds too good to be true it is!!

I just received the same call. I has to be a scam because I didn't fill out any forms.

I got the same call! I can't believe that the same scam is going on at least 2yrs later! I know there is no way that I entered a chatce to win anything because not only am I underage but I also didn't have this number last year!

Just got the same call.  I recently left an ad on Craigslist with my phone number and have had several such calls.

I have Tmobile and got a call saying I won a trip. I almost fell for this in the past. Last time I called back and a guy on the phone asked me a bunch of questions (although I had not revealed any important personal info). When he finally told me he needed my credit card number to make everything final, I just hung up. Then I got pissed at myself for wasting my time and being so stupid!

These deviants  just woke me from a much needed nap. It was a recorded call from a women claiming to be with 'america west' and sounding as if she had just downed an entire months worth of Adderal. Judging by the dates on this thread, these clowns have been operating since at least 2010. I am all for donating $5.00 to have the U.S. Navy Seals raid this hovel of pests and liquidate with extreme prejudice..............................WHO'S WITH ME?

I got some of those calls from America West. It's not an airline, it's a vacation company. I'm sure you pay a fee and get discount vacations or something. I spoke to a warm body today (they called me) because the date to attend the presentation was one day past. He gave me alternate days/times. They say they do not collect credit card information. I don't know. I talked to someone the other day who's mom "won" a cruise like this, and it was legit. Who knows?

received call from a blocked number today, let vm get it...1.27 minute message from america west promo dept...spouse & i won a 8day/7night cruise on carnival or royal carribean call this number back within 24 hrs 1.888.408.1960....claims i entered to win a year ago & was selected....i worked for a phone company over 12 years ago and would have people calling us about charges on their bill...it was discovered that they signed up to win a trip, money or car from a stand in the mall which gave that company access to add a long distance carrier on their line/bill so i never sign up for any promos...not sure how they got my number but this is a scam!!!

Today VM was left from "the promotional department of American West" saying I had won free round-trip for two adults and hotel stay, etc. because "the entry form you filled out at one of our events last year was pulled".  I have AT&T service.   Pure spam.
I would like to know who at the FCC it wouold be easy to report this to...

so far two cell phone calls from ameica west airlines regarding FREE FLIGHT OR FREE CRUISE. Figured its a scam. However , what anoys me is that I'm loosing cell phone minuts every time they call.If I knew where they were physically located.............I would happily neuke it!

I got same message from America West on my cellphone..also unusual because that number is not given out easily. Mentioned Baltimore several times..cruise departure, free flights to Lauderdale, said I or a relative of mine had filled out application last year. SCAM!

Just got the voice mail today (Dec, 16th 2011) and it looks like America West (or World Ventures) has set up shop at the Palms this weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada. They have three meetings that are going down on Sunday, December 18th 2011 at the Palms about their exclusive travel club.

I also got called on my cell phone and NEVER entered any contest. Same female voice recording talking a mile a minute.

I think that I have some inside knowledge on what they are trying to pitch as I had a friend get suckered in years ago. It's a pyramid like company (World Ventures) that sells travel at a reduced cost to its members. The catch, you have to join the club and pay a hefty fee to get the reduced travel plans. You also get money into your account for each person you sign up and for each person they sign up etc. Total pyramid scheme.

I cannot confirm that it is the company listed above with 100% certainty but it sounds identical to what World Ventures does and how they operate. I guess its a god deal if you take 35 vacations a year. Besides that, it's a scam and beware.

Just recieved the same call. It also came to me as a "restricted" number. This is awful.

Got the same call from American West advertising a free cruise and RT air for 2, but number was blocked to I answered.

Received this call today on my FBI cell phone.  Time to look into this number, follow any money and let the locals make any arrests depending on the evidence.  Time to call some buddies at the FCC and the phone company.

I just got the call today from a private number that said it was Lee Calahan (a woman) from Promotional Dep. of America West and that I won a two person airfare and cruise from a form I filled out last year.  I was tempted to call back just to see what they say and try to catch them in a lie, but it's just a recording.  The number they give you to call back is 877-486-2270.  They never say your name, which they would know if you filled out a form and anything last year wouldn't make any sense since I've had a new number for four months.  I have T-Mobile so I don't think it matters what phone company you're under.  It sounds like something you gave your number to sold it to a third party.

Scammers simply LOVE IT when they find suckers who seem to ENJOY having their money stolen. Get ready, you're on more sucker lists now than you can even imagine!

I got the American West Promo call like the last person. It offered a free 2 person, 7 night/8 day cruise out of B-more, along with 2 free airlines vouchers. I left a recorded message that I am interested, and they said a rep. will call me back. A rep. did call me back and secured a spot for my husband and me in a marketing/sales pitch, similar to that of a Timeshare pitch, but for a Travel/Vacation club. At the end of a 45 min. presentation, they sent in their reps. to convince us to buy, but we stood strong and united that we will not buy. After 10 min., they gave us our gifts and we left. The fine print on the vouchers says, we must pay activation fee, admin. fee and taxes (totaling approx. ~$200 on flight, ~$400 on cruise). Still a good deal for outside cabin on Carnival, or Royal Caribbean, or Norwegian Cruise line. I will be sure to open a new credit card with min. credit limit specifically for this (just in case).
After reading complaints on RipOffReport.com, it seems that the only complaints were based on indiv. not reading the fine print. Nothing alarming. By the way, they are American West Marketing /Virgin Marketing Group - Gold Crown Resort.

Just received a vmail from "America West Promotions" stating I or a family member had submitted an entry form at one of their events last year, which was "pulled".  Similar to the other posts here.  This was for a 7 day/night Caribbean cruise that I can go to out of the nearest airport of my choice, or that I could drive to Baltimore.  "Not a time share, no pressure", just call 1.888.408.1960 within 24 hrs.  It came from 702.444.4939 which gives a message that it's not in service and that folks online say is a pay phone or something.  Thanks to this post, I learned that America West no longer exists.  Also, I've only had this # for for months and they didn't mention my name in the vmail.  I completey agree with everyone above who says it is a scam, & I'm not bothering to call.  I would suggest the same for others who are in doubt. :)

There was a company that called Promotional Academy of America West offering a 7 night 8 day stay in Miami. I never filled out anything like this. The number that was on the voicemail was 877-431-1999. If it was not a scam, I do not know why the number would have shown up as restricted on my phone when it called.

I just received the same robocall on my cell, but the no. was identified as 'private caller'  Interestingly, the caller indicated that I would get a second call to confirm.  If that happens I'll be really surprised.

Just received the same message as everyone else from the no longer in business "America West". Always a good idea to check up on these sorts of calls. Although, I've never had one on my cell phone until now.

Just sounds like a real-estate or add company 2nd sit down. I haven't read about a single person who actually made an effort to redeem this and while there are likely many fakes there are companies that do these types of promos.

DEFINITELY A SCAM! Don't call or anything, best to just delete the message and forget you ever received the call

I just received a similar call (pre-recorded) from Anne Marie Promotions Department of America West.  Says to celebrate their 1st year Anniversary they were giving away free air and cruise tickets for a 7 night - 8 day cruise to the Bahamas and St. Thomas - said it was not a time share and that my name had been pulled from
some entry card at an even t last year --  the number they gave 1 888 408-1960 -  todays date is 7/14/11
