PJP Health Agency went out of business the autumn of 2013 rather than face a trial over EEOC complaints (though the principals immediately re-opened--in the same Melville, NY, location--as Key2Health Agency). Not only did PJP continue to bill my account after I cancelled in late 2012, they billed me even after the company shut down. I only discovered this recently, and yes, I am a moron for not monitoring my bank account more closely. That said, I want to challenge these jerks. But I would appreciate your opinion: is there any way in hell these people will pay restitution? Aside from legal action, I wonder if they are impervious to a social media campaign. Or are they impervious to public shame?

All I see is people from New York complaining, is the PJP Health Agency in New Jersey any more trustworthy, cause I just signed up for it, now after reading this I want to pull out.

yes this haapened to me and they tried to tell me I couldn't get my money back even though it hadnt been 30 days yet WHICH IS THE LAW! I reported them to the better business bureau and the attorney general who did get me my money back.

I had surgery done on December 2010. Called PJP Health Agency: "Will you cover the procedure?"
answer was "Yes". I got on the table under the knifes. Two months later hospital sending me bills. I called my insurance, they refuse to talk to me, I called again, they said they will take care of it. Now I'm in collections $50,000.00 Because PJP Health Agency said that they sent me paper work to fill out if I have or not, another Insurance Provider. I never received the paper work. I was in my bed for 4 months, going through the healing process. All my mail was brought to me and I organized it. I never dispose of any important material, especially like this one. Now they are telling me, because I did not fill the paper work out, I have to pay the bill myself. That is their words!!!!!!!!!! My dear people, who have been hurt by an evil company like PJP Health Agency, why don't we all get together and get rid of the evil. We are innocent people who got mislead by a company that likes the MONEY but DOES NOT CARE about US.

After receiving a phone call supposedly from NYChoice, I attempted to research this company, but w/o success.

I was sold a discount plan and the agent said it was insurance. I canceled after having the policy for 5 days. It is 3 months later and I am still waiting for a refund. All I get is voice mail when I call.

I wouldn't be so smug if I were you. Just because PJP Health Agency has not yet been shut down doesn't mean that it won't be in the near future. Many of the people who have been posting complaints about your company online have also been filing written complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, The New York State Attorney General's Office, The New York State Insurance Department, as well as the fraud departments of the various health insurance companies (UnitedHealthcare/Oxford, Blue Cross Blue Shield).

These complaints not only detail how your company misleads customers by tricking them in to believing that they have purchased health insurance coverage when they have actually purchased a medical discount plan, but also detail how you fraudulently obtain health insurance coverage for customers by claiming that they are members of groups and associations which they are not members of.

You can try to spin your lies any way you'd like, Dan, but the fact remains... PJP Health Agency is a dishonest company which rips off it's customers and defrauds insurance companies.

The reason why this happened is because PJP Health Agency employs idiots whose only job is to sell you worthless health insurance. They have no concern whatsoever about customer service or securing customer's private personal information.

Your first mistake was signing up with PJP Health Agency without first doing some reasearch about them. If you would have simply entered their name in a Google search, you would have discovered that there have been dozens of complaints filed against them on various consumer complaint websites.

I suggest that you read a couple of the previous complaints filed against PJP Health Agency on this website which detail how they refuse to pay the legitimate claims of their customers. Then decide if you want to continue to do business with such a company.

Upset with Vito Spatafora!!!

I bought a NY Choice policy from him. He told me the doctor visits would be a $25.00 co-payment. It turns out that it is a discount plan. He told me this was a major medical policy.

Vito told me the best part about the policy is that I would be getting him. Well he is a con artist that is not to be trusted. I found his picture on a social network site.

I would not want a guy that looks like this handling my health insurance needs.

After filling out a brief questionnaire on ehealthinsurance.com, I was contacted by someone at PJP Health Agency of Melville, New York.

I spoke with someone named Donald Ulrich at PJP Health Agency. He said he could get me in a group health insurance plan because New Jersey has some law that states people in a certain age group or risk factor can be considered a group. I began to become suspicious because I have never heard of that. I am a realtor and even realtors are not considered a group in New Jersey, otherwise I would already have group health insurance. After Mr. Ulrich began to really pressure me to give him my checking account number, big red flags went up. I told him I needed documentation with a plan summary so I could lay this plan next to the plans I was considering from other sources. He then said that the way they save money is by not offering copies of the plan. I said well what about a website link? He said no. I said how can I make a decision about healthcare when I can't compare the plans? He said well you have car insurance and you don't know everything about that plan either. He began to get very impatient and said he could post date my application and I would have 10 days to accept or decline, but I needed to give him my bank information immediately. I asked him if I could come to his office in Melville and meet him in person. He said yes, but said that it would be a long ride from New Jersey. I finally just had to hang up on him because he would not stop saying he wanted my bank information.

Anyone who has been scammed by PJP Health Agency (whether or not you live in New York State) is urged to file complaints with the New York State Insurance Department and the New York State Attorney General's Office.

If enough people who have been ripped off by this company complain to these two these law enforcement agencies, PJP Health Agency will be shut down and will no longer able to swindle people out of their money!
