This is definitely a scam no central station that I have ever worked with would not identify the location of the alarm or asks for your alarm code. If they can't give you the address or other information and they cannot identify your alarm company don't answer any questions.

I got a call from this number, and I do not have an alarm. Nor would the number dial in when I tried to call it back. The automated call provided no information and only asked me to "press 1 to accept" (accept what? I dunno).

This is the number for the monitoring company used by NEXT ALARM and probably others. They are totally legitimate.

Called at 130am

This number is a scam. They call my phone and told me that my alarm is going off. I don't have an alarm. Today I got a phone call again, but didn't notice the phone number, answered the phone and he told me that my son's house alarm is going off. I jump in my car so unset and shaking so bad, as I turned down his street no sign of a break in, then I realized the was another prank call. I check the phone number that just called me with the one that call 5 days ago and it was this one.

This is not a scam! It is the monitoring company calling! They are my monitoring company so I know they are legit...
Jay 2013-08-25 01:16:19 Unknown
This is a legit number. It is a national alarm monitoring service which services several smaller alarm companies. I just called my alarm company and verified.
Bill 2013-07-08 12:55:49 Unknown
It is NOT a scam. The previous posters are correct. It is an alarm monitoring service. If you receive a call erroneously, it is probably due to some improper configuration of a system somewhere, perhaps an incorrect or out-dated notification phone number..

I called this number and it is an security alarm company.
Robert 2012-06-20 19:30:00 Unknown
I actually work for a security company and this # is not a scam it is the monitoring company we use here. Something to go by is only give out your password if you are receiving a call on your home telephone after knowing that your alarm had gone off, If you receive a call and you are not at home the monitoring company will inform you that an alarm has been received at your home there is no reason to give your password so basically the only reason to give your password is to stop a dispatch from the authorities after knowing that your alarm had tripped.

This is the alarm company. They used to have a human call, but it seems to be an automated system now.

This is not a scam. This is a valid alarm monitoring company. Sometimes, improper alarm programming or accounts that are not setup correct can cause false calls to go out. One of the Alarm Monitoring companys thst use this Central Station is Next Alarm. If they call you and you have an alarm simply asnwer the questions, if you do not simply tell them it is a mistake. They will not hassle you or try to gain personal information, they are merely responding to an alarm signal that they received.

This was my alarm company's monitoring site calling about an alarm.
Dee 2011-11-14 13:42:18 Unknown
They called my home phone at 6:45 in the morning.
Joe 2011-09-08 14:13:26 Unknown
This # is a scam. I just called my alarm company and they say it wasn't from them.
Sue 2011-07-04 17:21:16 Unknown
I got a call from this number saying my alarm had gone off but there was no memory light on my alarm key pad, so I knew better.
Shirley 2011-06-06 21:04:37 Unknown
it was a call to my cell phone.
Erica 2011-05-05 14:41:14 Unknown
This # is not a scam. I just called it back after I saw a missed call. The recording was a bit strange, so i called my alarm company directly and they confirmed that it was central monitoring station and that my alarm had gone off. I then called my town's police and they too confirmed that the alarm went off and that they had dispatched police.

Did you get a call from this number claiming they were from your home alarm system?
MJ 2011-05-03 11:51:32 Unknown
We received a call from 877-556-5297 and they said my home alarm is going off and asked for my name, ifr I had and alarm system and the password for my alarm system. We called this number back twice and spoke to a man the first time and a woman the next both asking for our name and alarm password. When we told them we knew this was a scam they hung up, both times. Please beware of this number calling you, they can be selling your info to theives.
