You're idiots for paying for something that's free. Do some research.

Never accept calls from unknown numbers. If they don't leave a message it's a call center or some other BS you don't need to waste time with. That's why you're getting multiple calls a day. It's a call center and if you don't pick up it goes back in the queue for some other shlub to pick up and call later.

I called them back. There was an automated message saying they were calling on behalf of BMO and i could be added to the do not call list by pressing 1, so I did. They then asked me to type in my phone number. That didn't worry me too much as they are already calling me, so I did. I then recieved a thank you, you are on the do not call list but it could take 30 days to kick in.

I was expecting a call so I picked up. No answer after 10 seconds, so I hung up. Googled the # and found this page. Called it back and was given the option to be put on the Do Not Call List for Simpos Solutions, ran for BMO. Oh well. Don't really need credit protection.

I was called by this number and they were trying to convince me to purchase some credit score protection service through BMO. The person's name was "Vin". I listened for quite a while because I was curious and then politely said "No". There was a little pressure to reconsider. I always request that detailed paper information be mailed via postage to my home address that is on file. That usually stops things. In the end I said, "If I want to view my credit history and credit score I will actively seek it out, I do not need your service". Now, after reading this webpage I am convinced it is a scam.

Just got this pesky call. Started with one minute of muzak. Can't believe I hung on... but the product can be bought through Equifax for $5/month less. Just another way the Big 5 are looking to ding you.

I did the very same thing.  Told her I needed to check into it and get back to her.  Not sure what this call was.  So much on the go, it could be a scam, who knows.

And, if the calls are annoying and the callers overbearing, there IS a reason to complain to BMO, as the calls poorly reflect on BMO.  If BMO doesn't know Credit Defence is doing this AND using BMO's name, then they need to be made aware.  If Credit Defence is annoying the bank's customers to the point they may lose accounts, there is CERTAINLY reason to report it to the bank and give BMO the opportunity to put a stop to Credit Defence's calls.

"Some of you guys are really stupid. Please look into never reproducing." -- TOTALLY uncalled for.
YOU obviously did not read the comments of how, when people said NO, Credit Defence continued to be pushy; how, after people said they weren't interested and wanted no more calls, they still received them.

You sound more like an employee of Credit Defence than a consumer being aggravated by them.

"Otherwise, I hope you lose your wallet and fall victim to identity theft." -- right back at ya!

Some of you guys are really stupid. Please look into never reproducing.

This is NOT a scam.

Credit Defence is a legtimate service that gives you FULL access to your credit report and score.  The agents tell you WHY its important to look into this, they're trying to make you more aware to real life dangers such as fraud. They're doing their JOB. Yes, I know these s might get annoying. If you see them calling just ANSWER not let it go to voicemail, because the automatic dialer will just keep trying (so I was told). And listen, no need to blow up on these agents (who, mind you, are people and CONSUMERS like you & I)... Be polite and say no. Holy crap, people, you DONT have to take you dont want to. It's an optional benefit. If you want it, good for you. If you don't, be nice about it. Otherwise, I hope you lose your wallet and fall victim to identity theft.

I have recieved this call before. I tried it out. I found out someone had declated bankruptcy on my file and I didnt even know about it. This product helped me so much. I worked at a call center in my teen years bavk in the day, I know how tough their job is. The least you could do is use your damn manners.

I get that they are doing their job. They call 6-8 times a day. They do not leave a message. I have called them and followed the instructions to be on the do not call list. I have answered and told them not to call again. They call anyways.

I do not understand why you all come here to vent!  The truth remains, Do not answer the phone.  I signed up for the Cr Def and received my cr report and score.  I had some concerns and got all the assistance I needed.  The rep was quite professional and explained how I can opt out whenever I want. She provided her name and rep #, BMOs number and cd df service line and spent over 20 mins explaining the offer in detail.  She wanted me to not just sign up but be happy w the offer as well! No issues to date.  Chao!

I find it kind of funny that they are calling to provide you an anti-theft service but they sound completely illegitimate. When they asked me to verify information and I refused and when I asked for a call back number the woman stalled then finally gave in after I refuse to go any further. She told me it was a call centre and was all concerned I wouldn't get her when I called back. They must work on commission or something. This certainly makes BMO look bad as you would think that such a "valuable" service would be sold directly by a BMO representative...just shows you that you don't need the service. That's why I keep my chump change in BMO and use other banks for the big bucks.

Wow, a tough guy! Threatening to have your posse of 'infuluential people' withdraw their riches from the bank! (whatever that means, I googled infuluential and it came up with nothing, although it suggested maybe I mean influential. But I came back here to double check, and found nope! I actually was looking for infuluential) All the major banks allow a third pary business to offer some variation of this credit alerting service, and just like anything else you might get duped into signing up for over the phone, it comes at a price. Don't get me wrong, its a good service if you are looking for something like this.....but when you have to phone a call center to cancel them from billing you $18 a month, who has ever had a positive experience doing that?? But you go ahead and have your 'people' withdraw all of their 'money' and bring down that bank for their insolence!

I have rec'd numerous calls from this number, generally I don't answer as the number is repeated twice on my call display.  This call they asked for Mr. Leitch and told him they were offering more security on his account for the sum of $18. or thereabout.  He gave out no information and said he knows better than to give out any info over the phone.
