Same story....we've been getting numerous calls over the last few months from three different people.  The one today said that because her agents have not been able to get a reply from us they have had to forward it to her and that if we want to handle this matter "voluntarily" we should call her back at ext. 1312...I've wondered why, if this is so important, we haven't received anything in the mail...also, they don't even say who the call is directed to.
I've also called the # and when the automatic answer comes on it doesn't say what company i am calling calling...only says to enter your extension.  Doesn't sound like a real company to me...

continually calls my place of work telling them all my private business and that I am gonna be aressed and go to jail because I owe a debt

I got a call on my cell from an unavailable number.  I answered and the man called himself Ray Alvarez.  He told me that he just recieved my file from the court system and I had a judgement against me.  He told me to call 1-877-559-1767 immediately and gave me a reference number.  I told him that I didn't have anything to write with at the moment but I would put the number in my cell and call it as soon as we hung up.  I told him that I didn't have any old debts and didn't know why anyone would have a judgement against me.  He said that wans't his concern that he was just a messenger service.  Then he asked if I had the information to call and I said I guess.  He then said "You have been served!" and hung up.  Well the number didn't get stored in my phone so when he hung up I lost it so I didn't call.  

He called me back in about 10 minutes and went through the same spill only this time he also wanted to confirm my address which he quoted to me.  He said because if I didn't call the number, he would have to deliver the court order to my house himself.  I told him to come on and bring it that I wanted to see it.   After thinking about it, I figure he was in the same office that he was trying to get me to call and when I didn't respond the first time, he called again.   This time I did have paper and pen and I asked his first and last name and asked for his phone number, which hs said was irrevelavant.  I said I might need it in case I needed to verify what he told me or in case I lost the number he gave me.  He said I didn't need to call him for anything.  He then told me again that I had been served and hung up.

I called the number and a lady answered and asked for the reference number.  She put me on hold for a minute while she looked up my case.  She told me that I had a debt to a pay day loan company from 2009 and that she wanted to help me get it straightened out.  She couldn't tell me the original creditors name.  She said it was a pay day loan company that funded many different branches under different names.  I told her that I didn't owe any pay day loan companies and she stressed that it was from 2006.  She said that they were also pressing charges against me for a bad check, falsifiying documents and breach of contract.  I told her that I wouldn't give anyone any information over the phone and that the original creditor needed to send me something in writing stating what was owed and the dates so that I could have my lawyer look it over.  She just kept repeating that she was trying to help ,me and if I wanted to save myself a lot of trouble, I would just settle with them now.  I finally told her that I was absolutely not giving them any debit card information over the phone and that they could either send me something in writing or leave me alone and hung up on her.  

I did have a payday loan a few years ago, but I left them in good standing and they sent me emails asking me to come back all the time until I told them to stop.

I got a call from Kathy Robinson. Here cell phone number was 409-539-3118.


She did tell me about an actual bank account that I overdrafted YEARS AGO. But she told me that i repeatedly refused to pay it. Suprisingly, no one has ever asked me to repay it. Then she wont tell me my account number. Also she says that I have 24 hours to act on this. And that I CANNOT send a check or money order. I cant pay with a credit card, it HAS TO BE DONE MY BANK DEBIT!

Well she never even asked if I had an account today which of course I do.


I think that this is some sort of scam where they checked into my credit report and saw this bank and now are acting like they are from Wachovia. She said that they are Wachovia Enforcement or something like that

I got a call from a MR.Martin today same thing local number but call877-559-9865 he can kiss my a**.

I too received a call from 877-559-9865 regarding conflicting information in a file recently given to her....It came in from a local Oregon number 503-290-1048. This time it was "Shelly" who called. ( I think this is Imperial Recovery debt collector) I guess they figure just because its a local number someone might answer? not likely!

Received a message from "Kevin" stating he had received a file with conflicting information and that i needed to call him back today.  He could not leave any information on my voice mail.  Good Luck with that "file" "Kevin".

I keep getting these calls telling me that they are looking for someone I know and no real information is given. They didn’t give any specific name so I called back and found that the person they were looking for was ME! I was informed that they were process servers looking to make contact with me in reference to an old property damage lawsuit. I thought that I had it all paid off. I had to do court appointed community service as well as pay all the court fines and such. Apparently I still have an outstanding balance of the actual damage I did. I thought I had this all put behind me and now it’s almost like I’m back to square one.

I just received a call from Mr. Swartz and he was extremely arrogant.  I think he was from some sort of tax enforcement agency and was looking for my neighbor.  He refused to to tell me any information and only wanted to know if Levi Robinson still lived next door.  I have always wondered why and how this guy gets a new car every 2 months, I assumed he was in sales, I guess not.

When you get through they ask you about a person other than anyone living there, you should promptly tell them that the number they are calling is not being paid for by the person they are looking for and the number should be removed from their database or the number they called from will be reported for harassment.  If they hang up then you should report it anyways to the local phone company so they have a log of it.  And report it to your phone carrier every time they call.  That way there is documentation that can be gotten by subpoena when you take the company to court.  The information from the phone carrier will show who called who and when.  You must keep record of the date you tell them it's a wrong number so to co-relate with the phone company records to prove harassment in a court of law.  Hell, if it works for you like it did a friend of mine you should get a good settlement out of it.  Now I have to wait for "Jack" to call back since in my first time I tried to answer but "jack" just kept talking as if he didn't know I was there but I got disconnected before the call back number was said.  Darnit!

The number when I called  says, please hold while we connect you  and then you get an answering machine to leave a message at this extention.
7000 x is unavailable  it says.  
they left a message on my answering machine saying they could not leave a message as it was personal information about someone we may know and don't want to leave a  message.  They said their name was Frances at ext  1430 and said she is with AFL  and wants to wrap things up.

Got a call from a guy named "Jack" who gave me exactly the same story as KJ's story above. I'm not calling back.

Next time this guy calls don't answer his questions . YOU do the questioning and let him know you aready know the next question. if he gets mad keep asking questions like If he knows your address phone # ,and if this is true why you haven't get any paper work on the mail about his questioning, I think this guy is a fraut.

These calls are from a collection agency called JNR of which you can find them on jnrcollects.com as the specialize in recovery of car rental accidents/claims. Even though my credit card insurance paid for the bill, Hertz sold the account and these scumbags collect on what they can get. They will also try to contact you using a (407) 207-2345 number as well. Just a heads up!

I received several messages from a Kevin Swartz, when returning his phone calls I was informed that he was looking for my ex-boyfriend in reference to a fraudulent insurance claim on his property insurance policy.  I informed Kevin that we have not spoken in almost 2 years, and that I was unsure how he found my number, Kevin asked for Todd's address and location information’s including employer, so apparently Todd is getting served with papers, ha ha last laughs on him.

OK well.......now they are changing tactics. I'ts now Jeff Mahurin. He called and asked for my son by name and said he had 'time sensitive information' to give him. He was asleep so I said I would take a message. "I have a file and need to forward this information to him only and am not able to give it to 3rd parties under 'Federal Law".
Ooooo I'm all shivering. He even gave me his number and name. I googled the name but came up with a Facebook only. Then I realized he probably just picked this 'new' name recently and keeps changing it.

Anyways, the numer he gave was the 877-559-9865 one. Said he was with the Claims Recovery Office of Imperial Recovery

Also said it was urgent and he needed to ralk to him TODAY!

I received a call asking for my dad by first name only, the number on caller id was a local number, 419-491-2289, when I said I can take a message, he said his name was Brannen, or something like that, and left the number 877-559-9865 exxxxxxxxxxxxxx 1163.

So confused..  Got a call from a William regarding my US Bank account.  I also, get calls from Lukehart and Associates for the same account. Neither, claims to know the other. Someone is fake?

Got a call at 5:26 PM EST from a Jeff Mahem (at least it sounded like it). Wants me to call about an important matter concerning someone I know. I suspect we are playing the collection agency game looking for someone else. wm e

I also get calls from this annoying debt collecter. Mine calls himself Eric, but says the same things that has been posted about a file, a need to clear up some info. Since I don't have caller ID, I just play with him for yucks. I tell him to hold for the person and set the phone down for a few minutes. After a few minutes I pick the phone up and say "who do you want?" Oh, okay, I'll get him. I keep doing this until 'ol Eric gives up. Anyway, it is a least a little entertaining seeing how much I can annoy him.

off of what i posted i ment brice holiday. when my husband called them when he got home they pretty much said i lied that he cant bieleve hes taking my word for it and said he was never rude he was trying to help me bull he didnt care about anything i or my husband had to say. all i can say is i reported them. i know it wasnt my husband and even if it was his bill they have no right to talk to people like that all they can do is talk about how you can settle                             and to those who dont know when a bill collecter is calling about your bill they bought your dept for less then what you owe so act like you cant afford it and they will let you pay it off for alot less

*Mitch called and left a message stating that he had a file has been assigned to his office that has come across his desk that had conflicting information about a person I know. That it is very inportant to get cleared up and to call him back.

i got a phone call from them today it came up on my caller id as avalon #429-5414 they were calling for my husband but he was at work so i said this is his wife can i help you.Bruce holiday tells me that he has a bill that my husband is refusing to pay he tells me its for a bank accout that was over drawn and closed in 2008 and ive been with my husband for 7 years and hes never had a bank accout with US bank so thats what i told bruce but he said well not that you know of and i said no i know hes never had one he again tells me not that you know of that went on for a few minutes then i said what are you trying to say it sounds like your saying that my husband is a liar he said he didnt say that put i told him he implied that so we went back and forth for a few mintues i asked whats the full name that he has because i know my husband he gives me the wrong middle name i told him thats not my husband and then he argues with me some more he also gives me the last four didgets of a ss# so i said i think his ss# card is in his wallet he doesnt take it to work he says is that so he cant buy any girls a drink on his way home.THAT WAS OUT OF LINE. i couldnt find his ss# so he gave me a number to call back which was 877-559-9865
so by now im pissed so im looking everywhere for that number cant find it then i remember taxe forms so with his ss# that dosent match what BRUSE gave my i call back and they tell me that he could have gotten a id with whatever name he wanted and he could have opened an accout with whatever name  he wanted. These people have no idea what theyare talking about dont waste your time

Now they have several different voices instead of just the one "old west"-sounding guy who used to just change his name...

877... Eric Fitzgerald, same MO... a file here... about someone you know... i'll be in the office... Even if you're home and pick up, it's invariably a recording, different names... Bogart--I think I remember that one... shameless!

This company has been calling my house weekly for the last few months. I have already told them the person they are looking for does not live here, yet they continue to call, so I never answer the phone. I have read a lot of comments about this and wanted to add my 2c. even though I know it's not nec.
I have seen where this company is threatening Jail time for people? This is a load. America does not have a 'debtors prison,' so anyone who is threatened with this line, needs to educate themselves on the laws. Once you have done so, throw them in his face if you answer or return their call. Then report this company. As I do believe they were sued not too long ago, for attempting to collect debts with out a license. They then changed their name (to one very similar to a REAL debt collection company) and are once again operating illegally as a debt collector. REPORT THEM... I did.

I've been getting the exact same message for quite a while now and have never picked up.  They called twice today, so I called the FTC, like someone suggested earlier. That call felt pretty worthless and since I'd never picked up or called them back before, they said they couldn't really do anything (although they gave me reference number).  So, I called the number to see what kind of info I could gather about them.  There was some strange, automated voice forwarding message, then I was connected to some guy who said he was part of some Crime Watch something or other.  He first verified the # I was calling from, then asked if I knew a [insert most outrageous African name you've ever heard].  I laughed and said no, then he asked me if there was any reason this person would give my phone number as a contact - I said no again.  Then he just said, "Ok, we'll file this as a wrong number."  End of conversation.

Hopefully that's the end of the calls.

Sounded like a garbled recorded message but had today's date ..From a fellow named James having a file on his desk he needs to clear -up  and to call by 5pm..

I have had this same scripted message from other numbers saying the same things and not revealing the company's name  or the reason for calls.. just a file on their desk...

If you're on a cell phone using Android, you can download a free app called "super call blocker" to block all numbers starting with 877.  I only just started using it so I don't know how well it works, but hopefully it'll do the trick.  Hope this helps!
