Well, I mean you should give your info to www.donotcall.gov because they have to know which number these idiots called.  But otherwise don't write your name on websites like this, is what I meant.

For the umpteenth time including yesterday morning at 8:38 AM I called it back and played along with the prompts.  I pressed the number 1 and it was a recoring spouting the wonders of the NRA.  Soooo~~~~~~~, I just kept pressing "0" (zero) continuously until there was a recording stating if "you do not wish to receive these calls, leave the phone number you wish removed.  Since Federal Law allows 30 days to complete the removal, we will make every attempt to do this quickly" .  WE SHALL SEE !!!!!!!

Debt Collector
this nra is NOT national rifle assoc.....these morons are a collection agency with nearly 500 complaints in the past 3 years about their incorrect, illegal and abusive actions. they have MASSIVE numbers of lawsuits past and present.
they have one and only one opportunity to contact ANY individual, this includes wrong numbers, correct numbers etc.
the first time they call you are legally able to demand no more calls from them. this does not need to be in writing. ANY calls from these sob's after they are told NO MORE CALLS or WRONG NUMBER ENTIRELY  DO NOT EVER CALL AGAIN and you can sue them in your local civil court. state fines begin at $500 per violation and some states have $5000 per violation. if you can prove willful harassment  go for treble damages.
why the outrage you may wonder?
imagine your 92 year old mother, simple name like "jean smith" white pages listed for 40 years "j. smith"
now envision her receiving repeated calls for some unknown non-relative named john smith with no end to the harassment until she either changes her phone number or sues the bas845ds by hiring a lawyer.

Just go to your telephone company web site and BLOCK the offending number, so it will not be able to come thru.
But that's nothing permanent, because those Caller ID spoofers use a number for one day or so, then start to use some other number. The numbers they use are abandoned numbers, not yet reassigned by the telephone companies.
From Wikipedia:

Caller ID spoofing is the practice of causing the telephone network to display a number on the recipient's Caller ID display which is not that of the actual originating station. The term is commonly used to describe situations in which the motivation is considered malicious by the speaker or writer. Just as e-mail spoofing can make it appear that a message came from any e-mail address the sender chooses, Caller ID spoofing can make a call appear to have come from any phone number the caller wishes. Because of the high trust people tend to have in the Caller ID system, spoofing can call the system's value into question.

It is amazing that such a crooked practice is allowed to go on!
Where are the feds when I need them????? I wrote to my US Rep...no response!

Bottom line: IGNORE IT and never give the other side ANY information. PERIOD!

The NRA has been calling daily for weeks. It is becoming very annoying! Sometimes it says NRA on the caller ID and other times it says 800 service.
