I got the same call a few days ago.  I was at work so they left a message on my phone.  I like the idea of a class action lawsuit.  These people should pay for the harassment.

I've received several calls from these people at all hours of the day sometimes the number is blocked. The 1 877 number is not free you will be charged when calling them big scam!

I also received a call today from a restricted number, I didn't answer.  The voicemail was from a man with an Indian accent who said his name was "Tom"!  Really?#  Said to call him back as he has a summons for me to appear in court and to stop the summons.  Well, if i was in trouble with the law I wouldn't be getting a courtesy call before getting the summons.  Since I have fell prey to this type of scam before I was well aware of what was going on - Will not be calling them back but reporting to the BBB.  Good luck folks and steer clear of these morons!!

I received a call today, from a PRIVATE caller, he them stated that his name was " Tom Collins " , from MGF & Assoc., asked me to verify my name , I did not , them he transferred me to a caseworker named " Nick " , asked me again to verify my identity , I did not , them he gave his direct # 8775608065 , without giving my my case #,  for an important legal matter. After reading the comments above, I am not calling back !!!!  I will be filing complaints with BBB, Attorney General, FTC.

i just submitted a complaint to the tx attorney general since number on cid is coming up as houston tx. likely nothing can or will be done since likely outsourced and not in the us.

got call from 8328030349, listed as houston, tx, said call to stop summons, gave the call back no of 8775608065 with a case no. as a bill collector, it is in direct violation of the fdcpa to send harrasing communications. i will wait for my summons. also a gentleman with a heavy indian accident, likely outsourced company. phone number likely on a relay. if outsourced, they likely not know the fdcpa. wonder if they know if we all joined in together it could be a class action lawsuit against that company, since it only takes 2 people for class action.

I received a message from this same company today.   Its all a SCAM!!!

Mel..I got the same call but I did not call back..this is harassment!  I am so tired of getting these calls.  I may just have my number changed.

I received a voicemail this morning threatening me with a Summons. I called the 877 number back, and was informed that MGF is a collection agency. Supposedly I owe on a cash advance, and I could settle for a certain amount. I stated to the collection agent that the voicemail message was the first I was hearing of this, I received no other calls or nothing inthe mail,  and was there any way I could possibly get a copy of any type of paperwork regarding this cash advance. I was informed that the settlement was off the table and my file was being returned to company that was suing me. I stated to the agent, that if he had a file in front of him, there had to be some type of paperwork that he could forward to me. I was told no, and my file was being sent back.

no collection agency is to call and threatening any kind of legal threat on you when collecting a debt we just got out of a case that involved threatening to serve summons to collect a debt just tell them to mail you a copy and you will take care of it that way they cannot threaten we had a lawyer with fcpa and believe me they stop when they take control

I just heard the voicemail these scumbags left me. The guy talked with a heavy indian accent saying his name was bill from MGF & Associates. Said to call 877-560-8065 to discuss the case against me and they would stop the summons. He called me from the 281-201-6036 # but said to call the 877 # to discuss the case. I say F*** These pig headed scumbags and send them back to wherever the HELL They came from. They need to be stopped or nuk their a***s back to Hell!

they rang my phone three times this morning, and left a voicemail on the last, the call came in on a number 281-201-6036, saying to call back to the 877-560-8065, so they it will stop the summons.    I just say the email from the BBB about these types of new scams.

Hung up in my face when I called them back about lying about how they got the number. Had a reference number for me to use when calling back.  Who are these people?

actually you can get served a summons without going to court thats what the summons is for, to SUMMONS you to court DUH!!!

Says its a "john edwards" calling and they have a "summons" but need to verify my correct address - correct me if I'm wrong but I think I would have had to have been taken to court before I had a summons issued for "check charges"??? No company name, and asking me to VERIFY MY OWN ADDRESS so they can get me a summons - sure, I'll give you my address so you can send me a summons - DUH !!
