I just got a call from them today.. The guy who left me a voice messages.  His name wasTyler.. The number for me to call back is (855) 841-6084. The woman I spoke with her name is Jennifer. They are wanting to meet with me this month which is May.. I told them I have a business trip and I will get back with them or they can call me to see where I'm at when the time get near from them to come. I figure I better do some reseach on the Direct Buy.. before  these people come to vist me. They are in a rude awaking reading all this testimony from other people.  I will let them make the 1 hour and 1/2 trip to my house. I will have my lawyer there with me. The house they are going to meet me at is a house I'm closing on that day..So guys I will get the last laugh..thanks so much for all your info. I will be prepared on this day..pam

I received a call from Diane with Direct Buy at phone number 214-425-0215 trying to convince me I was a semi-finalist for a $25,000 home make over.

Got one from an Indian sounding woman. Interted her several times with question about legitimacy and she got really lippy. She stated I had already won a vacation and was a semi-finalist for $50k direct buy home makeover or $50k cash. She only asked if I was married or had a significant other and my age and said I'd be getting a call with further winnings. Haha will answer the next one (if their is a next one) and give insane answers haha. Call came from same area code as my phone and the rest of the number was 898-1212

Just got one in Maryland.  Didn't get her name, couldn't understand her with the background noise and accent.

Sounded a LOT like a Timeshare pitch.

Got the phone call, some guy with a definitely heavy northern accent. (I live in the south) Like others said I signed up for a contest I didn't sign up for in reality. He immediately went into "I have here you are "joe ....., you make $$$ a year, you reside in..."   I interrupted him and said "what's the question?"  He acted offended, and I said, what's the pitch, I don't have time to sit here and listen to my resume.  Went into the two tickets, etc.  While I was on the phone and he was going through the speech I googled and came here.  Soon as I saw this site I hung up on him.

Got a call from Awards Notification Dept. and National Premium Services, saying that about a year ago we had enter a sweepstake or drawing at Home Depot, Lowes, and I forgot what the third one could have been, or that if we used a debit card we were entered in the sweepstake.  We are now in the final drawing for $25,000.  What is this scam?  I never entered any drawing or sweeptakes.   Glad I didn't give them any information... like a dummy I looked them up after I called their no.  They just wanted to know how much money we made, and I told them I didn't know.  The number they used was 855-545-7293

Got the same call saying I was a Global Network Finalist in a $25k home make over. 877-614-4549 x 802

I got the same thing bit tje number i was suppose to call is 011447589555093. Im suppose to contact patty may or leon best. The number was not a working number.

SCAM. I got the same one. Did some quick research, its fake.

I also received a letter from Woodhilll and notification that I had won $50,000.00.  My letter said that I had received letter dated December 22, 2012.  Well I never received a letter before this one.  I feel sure that this is a scam.

Received a call from a local #  Jamie Sullibal  gave the same song and dance. Finalist for chance to win $25,000.00 for direct buy, smelled like a scam. But gave her my name before I was overly concerned. Now I'm worried.

Ms Brittney's pre-recorded message must be the front runner for north Alabama.....busy girl! Same exact wording as the first person wrote on this blog thingy....anyway, told the lady after being connected that I do enter contests periodically and was just double checking to see if this was the real thing or just another sales call and that I wasn't interested and wanted to be taken off their call list. And that was the end of my excitement of the day.

I got a phone call saying the exact same thing. The only difference was that it was from (256)728-1760. She asked me two questions. 1. Am in a relationship with someone and 2. Am I a homeowner. (two questions I'm pretty sure they ask on credit apps--EEK.) She told me that I had to go to their location in north huntsville AL to qualify and take a 19 minute tour. She also told me that it HAD to be with "my significant other" because the car I would be winning was designed for "happy couples" and the vacation I would be winning was designed for happy couples at well. Her accent sounded fake. At first I thought one of my friends was prank calling me.

When she asked for my name (which she would have already had if I actually entered into a contest) I finally told her "look, I'm reading a forum with hundreds of other people that have gotten this message right and it's clear to me that this is a scam." Then I told her to have a great day and hung up as she was trying to convince me otherwise.

I also received the same call but my caller was "Dee" at 877-431-2783.  When I called back I got her voice mail.  I decided I would check online to see if anyone else had had s similar situation.  So glad I did!  What a scam!

Open House Relations / Direct Buy scam...caller's name was "Deanna"..."semifinalist for a $50k home makeover and other potential prizes for making it through to the semifinalist listing"..."may have entered drawing as far back as 12 months ago".  Did not address my name in the voicemail message.  Caller ID shows "private caller" - no actual phone number to trace.  Call back number provided as 866-230-4280.

Today  got a call saying that we are simifinalists in the 50000 Direct Buy Home Makeover  She said that if Iwin the home makeover I can choose a cashiers check in that amount if I don't need the home makeover.  She said that I have defnitely won an Android 7" computer tablet.  She said that I should receive mail from Direct Buy soon and that I should definetly take that mailing seriously and reply to it.   During our conversation, she never addressed me by name, but she had our street address.  I asked her if she was employed by Direct Buy, and she said that she represented them. She said she is in Open House Relations.
I was away from the phone when she called, but the # 219-940-3935 was on my caller ID.  She left the #866-230-4280 as the return call #.  Her name was Deanna.  I asked her why there were different numbers and she said that many people no longer have long distance service and so the 866 prefix is a toll free #. I asked where she was calling from and she said Indiana.  The strange thing about the call is that she did not ask for any personal information, and she was not "pushy" like most of the telemarketers.  BTY, I told her that I did not recall entering the contest, and she said that many times Direct Buy will choose contestants at random!  That did not sound right to me.  I went online to research Direct Buy & this was the first site that I connected with.  Oh, I almost forgot.  I asked her when the contest ends and she said , "probably around the first of December".  That statement was a red flag, too!

I just had a message from Direct Buy stating that I was in the run off for a $50,000 cash prize give away. I did call them back and spoke with a guy named Randy Bentley. To believe or not? The tickets to Hawaii sounded good lol

Received a call from Deanna saying we were in the top running for the 50,000 Direct Buy makeover. The call came from 219-940-3935 which when researched was from a home in Indiana. She said to call back toll free at 866-230-4280. It was the same lady's voice on the message. She sounds like the same woman as the previous complaints as the verbage described was identical.
So is our information being sold to other companies/people by Direct Buy? Have they done anything about this breach of security?

I got the call from "Brook" at Direct Buy a few days back. 1-888-960-7821. Same call-finalist for a 50,000 home makeover that I applied for-up to 12 months ago. I checked out this site before calling back. Thank Goodness!

The new caller is Diane. I hate to admit that I called back, phone rung for over two minutes, no VM.
I guess the line was overflown with all the "semifinalists" trying to grab their "prize". Number to call is 888 960 7821. Do not waist your time.....

Caller called twice.  Both times said: "I'm sorry, I have the wrong number." Hung up right away.

Got a call 2days ago and spoke with a young woman about an invitation to directbuy open house. Since we had already been their in the last 5years we were not eligible to attend. I hope DirectBuy reads this, because I am in the middle of a huge project and its a shame I cannot come back for another 3years. DirectBuy needs to change their policy! Woman was very helpful but said her hands were tied when it came to this "promotion" and if I wanted to peruse possible membership options to go online.

Clair called us too, said, "you guys" won a $50,000 home make over. She said CONGRATULATIONS we were semi-finalists and won one of the top prizes! Left a call back # of 877.565.3696, caller ID is Sweepstake Group 219.945.3266! Whatever lady!!

Got phone message, same except clair reynolds said i may have entered the swerpstskes up to twelve months ago...otherwise the same message assuring me it wasnt a sales call.  I called back and got voicemail and then found your site.  I live in MI....claire gets around!

I just got the call today.  hey said I was a finalist and I get a gold key to see if I win, not to mention they are giving me two tickets.  Have no idea what contest I entered.  Also they gave a confirmation number.  I asked why and they said I would need it to get a key.  I asked what type of contest is thisand then they gave a whole spiel on direct by.  Get ths they gave me an address to come there on Wednesday at 7pm.  They will keep waiting.

Apparently, we all have amnesia because Claire said we entered this contest about a year ago and I'm thinking I don't remembering entering a contest for a home make over - hmmmmm and I actually test people's memory for a living
