Received a voicemail from this #. They stated that I have ignored their urgent messages and am not taking care of this matter voluntarily,so  they have no choice but to move forward accordingly. Then they just give this number, but no business name or contact name. Don't even know what company or what they are talking about.

Just got a voicemail today.  Same line as everyone else.  I called back on another number and was told it was a pre litigation company.  Said thanks and hung up.  Obviously scammers.

I too just received a call from 877-572-0068 telling me to call back before the end of today to sign papers or they will take further action. After reading some of the comments concerning payday loans I know now who its from. In early 2010 I was in need of funds before payday & went on line and filled out a app. for a $250.00 payday loan with CashNet USA. After considering the fees I did not go thru with the loan & never thought of it again. In late 2010 I started getting threating phone calls at work, home & cell phone telling me they were lawyers from the payday loan company and that I failed to make payments on my loan. They said with all the fees that I now owe $5000.00. I always hang up on them, telling I never took a loan out and that can proof it. They had all of my personal info, address, where I worked, SS#, referance's names and numbers. They even said they were sending marshalls over to pick me up. I told them to bring it. This happen again two more times in 2011 & just last week yet another caller claiming to be a lawyer and were going to come to my door the next day, they never showed. All callers had mid eastners acents. I learned the hard way of not appling online for any payday loans. They even called the referances I had listed trying to shake them down too. I called CashNet's fraud dept and reporting all the info I had, names and phone numbers they used. Beware.

Just got a phone call and message of them saying, "If we do not here from you by the end of business today, we will assume you have no intent of taking care of this voluntarily and we will move forward accordingly." Called the number and asked about it, the person did not say who they were, but did look up my number and said we are looking for so and so, to which I replied, "I've had this number for 6 months." The person on the phone became rude and annoyed and asked, "Do you know him or not?" I said, "No". Then she hung up on me.

If you lead your life honestly like I do, you don't need to worry about these phone calls.  Just delete them and move on with your life.....

I AM curious though if any of us who filed these complaints have something in common...like a certain credit card or something.  Maybe our numbers got sold or stolen.  Who knows.....

Same here ... all the above is correct.  I've had numerous calls from this number.  I NEVER EVER return the call and advise y'all not to call them back, period.  IF they can NOT identify who they are upon leaving their message, then you know it's a questionable call.  Do yourself a favor and REPORT THIS call.  These people need to be JAILED... they are a menace!!!

I have received numerous calls from this number that tell me and there is paperwork that I am required to sign.  They are tried 'repeatedly' to contact me.  No one is identifies the caller and no company is given.  The tone of the call is threatening, menancing, and frightening.  I don't have any paperwork that needs to be signed and I owe no one money.

Same thing happened to me, they contacted me saying if I didn't call back by the end of the day they will pursue further action. Great to know early that this is a scam.

We have received calls from this number several times a day for quite some time.  I generally don't answer them; although they always have an automated system who leaves a message on our voice mail.  Something about needing urgent attention by end of business day or they will turn over to the federal..blah blah blah.  .Of course, we've had this message now for a month and nothing has happened!  Having worked in the telemarketing business & now the credit / AR business I LOVE having fun with these type of calls.  So, when they called today I couldn't help but pick up to have some fun!  A lady answered "Thomas Brown Associates".  I answered "Hi.  You called me?"  She asked what number they called me at.  I answered with "you tell me - you called".  Of course, this game went on a couple times with her getting more and more annoyed at me letting her know that they should have that information since THEY CALLED ME!  The lady finally said "what happens if our automated system called you?".  My response:  "I've worked with automated systems and they give you that information.  You should have it.  Obviously, it wasn't THAT urgent then!"  She finally yelled "are you going to give me the number or not?!"  I said, "Not!  And....."  It ended with her saying "FINE" and hanging up!  Oh, I'm sure this isn't the end of my FUN with this company.  =-)  Infact, I know this company and have talked to them several times!  They are trying to scam money from my brother and his family (me and my parents) since they have some records of his money issues in 2008 - 2009 that he went through.  Guess, after my fun I should get additional information to add to the police report that we already have open!

This # has left a few messages on my cell.  Today was the first time I actually called back. They stated I was used as a reference for someone I knew and they needed to get in contact with them.  They gave me the person's name and threatened legal action against that person. They wouldnt tell me what the reference was for (i.e car loan, bank loan, etc). I advised them that I did not have any contact info for that person and the guy offered to take my name off of the reference list. I did get the name of the company (Thomas Brown and Associates) so I googled it and found that many people say ita all a big scam.  The funny thing is, I actually know the person whom they are looking for and know for a fact that that person has taken out payday loans in the past...so Im not sure if its really a scam or not :-/

These people called me today. Fortunately, I had been hit with a scam before and decided to check it out. I told them I was suspicious and I would call them back later. Then, a call came through on my office phone (which I had called Brown A**. from) and someone claiming to be from Chase Bank's fraud department left me their name and number for me to call them back. I had NEVER given chase my work number, as I closed my account with them long before, and when I called Chase to verify the number that I had, I was told it was not a chase line. Then I tried to verify the person's name. No one even close to that name works in the Fraud department, and the only person that was even close to that worked in TRANSPORTATION and does not make any calls to customers for any reason. PLEASE be careful. I know someone who works in collections (and I currently work with a company that uses a collection agency) and if they can't give you contact information for the company that you owe, they are a SCAM. She had me on hold for 30 minutes looking for the number. Also, could NOT find that company's valid contact info anywhere on the internet. All of the numbers I found and tried were disconnected. We have our collection agency's number on speed dial, and they have ours.

I have had the same phone call, they never do anything. They said if I didnt call back I would be served at my work or home before 4pm; this never happened. They are trying to see if they can get lucky and get someone's account number. Collection agencies must give you who they are collecting from and what the original default was in writing and this must be done within 30 days of contact. Never give you information over the phone if they are a ligitamint company they will send you something in writing, trust me I work for a real estate company and am currently working on cleaning my own credit.

This number has attempted to call three times, the first time they left a message saying a suit was being filed against my name and ss#, I do have some debt and am in the process of paying off my accounts but I do know they must give you the company they are collecting from and the date of delequincy. They told me I would be served at my home within a week if I did not respond. I knew they were a scam since I have paid off most of my debts and the others I am in communication with. So I ignored the call, two days later same number called the man left a message saying if I did not call back today he would serve me the same afternoon. Well as you may have guessed no action. Just ignore them they cannot not and will not do anything, I have learned if you pick up the phone they just give you headache. Make sure if you do, you know your rights, they have to send you a letter stating what company they are collecting for with the original amount of default, if they do not do this they are not legit. I just got a call this morning, but to save me time I pick up and hang up so they can leave a voicemail.

these punks called and said if i did not respond they were going to have to take the next step and use legal action against me, get in line i told them and hung up.then right after i hung up i recieved a call from this number 702 579 9906 i just played stupid and the guy on the other end hung up

I do not owe this person anything, nor have i ever dealt with them, yet he has left me several messages telling me that if i do not call back right away, they will take further action.

Threaten that they "will take further action if we don't call back by the end of business day."

I had a threatening message on my answering machine saying that since they hadn't received my paperwork, If I didn't call by the end of the day, further measures would be taken.  I called the number back, they answered as Thomas Brown and associates & said that they were calling me because of a matter with someone who gave my name as a reference & that person had not fulfilled their commitment with another company who forwarded their info to me.  I told her about the message on my machine, and she said they had received complaints before about the messages left

All the same for me.  What an a**. Call on caller, just do not answer.

I have received many calls on our business line from this company looking for a woman who has never worked for me.  Today a man saying his name was John Anderson threatened to come after me when I insisted on the mailing address to send a letter to stop the calls. Most do not call list do not allow business line to be list so I do not know (other than the BBB and Att General) how to proceed?

This is a cold case collection agency called Thomas Brown Assoc in Ft Lauderdale FL (dba VCS). I have received many calls on our business line from this company looking for a woman who has never worked for me.  Today a man saying his name was John Anderson threatened to come after me when I insisted on the mailing address to send a letter to stop the calls.
