My wife has received 3 of these robocalls stating it was a law office and she needed to call immediately about an urgent matter. The number were 877-591-7654 and 7877-591-019 and 877-868-2132
I've searched these numbers on the web and it's the same old story - illegal debt collection tactics.
See, the only problem is that both of our credit ratings are over 800 (813 and 815 respectivly) and we own no one other than house and car loans. Our credit is spotless and we don't borrow other than through our CU or a respected merchant who goes through someone like GE credit for example.
So these turkeys have some really bad info, and this sort of tactic will be reported (I work for the state and know the AG) I'm also an IT security pro and know this isn't unlike phishing or scams run by organized crime, etc.
Simple go to google.com and type in the number using the format I did above - you'll be amazed, and ANYONE who gets such a call should contact your local country attorney or state AG office, and never ever ever call them back or give out any info, and keep reporting 'em online! FIGHT BACK

How do I make them stop?! I am NOT the person they're asking for, nor do I have any debt. I get the same recording as everyone else. It's driving me nuts! And it doesn't help that their reps are complete d*cks when you call them to see what they want and to get them to stop calling. I even tried to google the little info they leave... and can't find anything. What losers they must be to try to scam people... get a real job bums.

Getting several calls from "John Brady" leaving the same message, "I have information reguarding a file on my desk that you need to be aware of. It is important you contact me as soon as you get this message before I make a desicion on your behalf." Called back and asked for John Brady but then the line went dead. He called me one time so I picked up and he asked for someone named Lamar and her mom Tonya or something and I told him I didn't know them and he said he would take me number off his list. Now I'm getting messages from 877-591-7022. A recording with a woman saying her name is Mrs. Lambert and she has important information for someone. How do I get them to stop calling me?

I received a call at my place of employment today from John Brady.  Never asked for a person just stated he had a file on his desk concerning me and needed me to call him back.  Now this is a sub shop and there are 20 some employees here so whom did he want?  Just a waste of time during my lunch rush.

got the call from John Brady from 877-591-7628 today."John" told me to call him back at 877-591-7020. I have had this cell phone number for 3 or 4 years, but the same landline number for over 16 years - but they never call that one, and it is not unlisted. Apparently they don't check to see who the number currently belongs to. I thought that they had given up, since I didn't have a call from them for awhile! Why can't they be shut down, or at least forced to do more diligence in obtaining correct phone number info before harassing innocent people!

What ever you did, can you please let me know?  They have been harrasing me non-stop, have called me NUMEROUS names, some that should have not been said and the Litigations Manager Jason has finally topped my cake where I am completely irrate, had the nerve to call me stupid and tell me that I don't have a clue what I'm talking about when it came to telling him my rights.  My next move is to get a lawyer involved.  What solution worked for you?

I sincerely hope that the government shuts you down. What you are doing is wrong. Robo calling should be illegal. I should not have to call you to tell you that you have the wrong number. Your are discrediting your industry.

we aren't trying to hide! You just need to have current and up to date information. Shall I tell you, you can get a hold of the person by calling 1 800 heaven? We don't have a clue who you are asking for and it doesn't rectify the situation by calling back. You guys don't believe us when we say we don't know who it is, and we really dont.  So quitcher calling us.

Guess I am the dummy!!!! I got a letter in the mail to call these guys immediately or they were going to attach my bank account. I called the number given. A Thomas Lawrence answered. It was for an old debt that Wells Fargo deleted due to fraudulent activity on my debit card. He told me i had to call the bank to settle the dispute, he couldn't settle any disputes. He sounded nice and buttery, but then he started calling me back, I have refused to answer. I will talk to him when I am good and ready to. The bank told me today that they never sold it to these guys anyway.  So????I think they are a rip off. They are also using the number 877 591 7019--that's a number they told me to call on too. Don't think I am going to do that.   This Thomas told me that either we could resolve this peacefully or with force. Ha, he won't get much from me. I am living out of the country.

John Brady just called my husbands phone demanding my social security number.  My husband would not give it to him and John Brady said, "oh you're one of those"..whatever that means.  Then he said,"you must not be her husband since you don't have her SS#". He was really trying to play on his emotions to get personal information.

See this is the problem with the internet, you always get incorrect information from people that think that they know what they are talking about.  All of you on here got a call for a reason, your either the person that we're looking for or your not.  All you have to do is return the call and we can rectify the situation either way.  Good luck to all of you that try to hide.

I've been getting these calls for months. I got the same call today from this so called Brady person. I have tried to call back and the line always drops. I have even had other friends call for me to see what happens and the call just drops also. All the messages I get from these calls are similar but my caller I'd always says the number is unavailable. I really don't know what this is about but I'm reporting it to the FCC.

I just got a message from Mr. Brady today, and I have never had an account with bank of America. I  personally think that his phone number should be written on the bathroom wall of every truck stop between here and Texas, and on a personals site for free phone sex on Craigs List.

All of you are correct.  This 'John Brady' runs a 'collection clearing house' (my own definition).  He actually buys very old debt from creditors who are willing to accept as little as $1 for such a list.  This is debt the creditor has written off as an expense.  I've run into these businesses before and they are extremely underhanded.  The business takes the lists and does some rudimentary skip tracing and then attempts to make free money off debts long since expired (usually 7+ years with no activity) using offers of reduced settlements, payment plans and in some cases the threat of wage garnishment. (provided they can actually prove employment) Depending on the state in which you reside and the ties that the particular business has there, it can be very easy for these guys to enact a wage garnishment, sometimes without you even knowing it until you see your paycheck at a severely reduced amount.  My main advice is to obtain your most current credit report and check to ensure accuracy.  Any debt that shows up without recent activity (again, about 7 years) should be disputed, but only 1 dispute at a time as the bureau will not investigate more than 1 at a time.  These guys buy so many names that they most certainly do make money so don't think that they don't.  Most people are intimidated by these collectors and end up paying money for nothing except the 'promise to notify the respective credit bureaus when the debt is satisfied'.  They don't provide any written proof this has even been done or attempted.  Buy 1000 names and hey if 1% actually pays, free money in the bank.  Now imagine a scale 20X or greater.  Lists of old debt for a $1 just like the ad in the classifieds..'make money from home'.  Locate the name, find the nearest local court, file the paperwork at little or no cost and sit back and wait for your judgment to allow for the garnishment of wages.  I've been through this from beginning to end, having to endure the garnishment and then fighting back in court and winning, recovering my lost wages and eliminating the 'false debt'.  Unfortunately most people do nothing and thus these people continue to flourish.  Good luck all.  Oh, call the number John Brady leaves and without revealing your name tell them they have the wrong #.  It shows up on their caller id anyways, so you just say I don't know who you're looking for, stop calling and they have to, by law.

Got the same call at my new workplace.  About some important file and decision that need to be made and I must consult with him first, or oh no, he'll make the decision without me.  Wasn't planning on calling back and seeing all these other hits, this message goes right into the trash.
