MCS also left a note attached to front door. When I called they asked for my name, address and Incident number. I asked who they were and they said they were hired by a third-party lender. I asked whose the lender, they said they couldn't provide that, so how do I know they are not a scammers. They would not provide their full names nor address. They repeatedly asked if the property was vacant. I believe they look up the court records of deceased, lis pendens and then try to illegally seize the property. It could be to offer a loan modification or to take adverse possession, which has occurred in Florida. I advised MCS that if they dare change a lock or break in they will be arrested, but first they have to get past the large german sheppard that is now living in the house. :) I called 3 times and lodged my complaint to different phone operators and reiterated that they are scammers. Interestingly, no one denied it. I went to the police department who has put an alert into their system to do extra drive bys. It is horrible to think that they they can start a papertrail by asking if the property is vacant and advise that they will change the locks. Their behavior are like communists. How criinal is this? It would be great if someone starts a class action to sue their pants off.

I talked to the real MCS360 Company and yes that number is a fraud and has been reported to the legal authorities. Expect actions to follow. The card that comes in the mail should have the number 1-866-563-1100.

MCS DOES INDEED work for Wells Fargo; that is a FACT because I perform monthly occupancy inspections for MCS FOR wells fargo, bank of america and many other banks and mortgage companies. MCS does not change the locks, a preservation company sent by the mortgage company changes the locks. The inspections MCS performs are soley to verify occupancy and to deliver a door hanger asking for you to contact your mortgage company due to delinquency because phone calls and letters mailed to the homeowner have gone unanswered. hence the reason they have us hand deliver a letter to the home to ensure it was received.

I received 2 of these so-called audit postcards in my mailbox on the same day. One was addressed to my young daughter (who obviously has no connection with a mortgage company). The other card was addressed to my neighbor, but it was misdelivered to my house. Maybe every house on my street received one of these cards. Maybe it's a tricky marketing scheme. Nobody called that phone number on the card, and nobody got hauled off to jail for not calling.

You need to talk to a lawyer in the state where this happened. No one here can help you with this.

I feel so violated... These people entered my home through the kitchen window, broke the screen off, knocked over the Dawn dish soap and left a huge pool of dish soap on the counter. They changed the door knob and the dead bolt type lock on the back door as well as placing a lockbox on the doorknob to obviously leave it for others to gain access. We did have to move out of town for my husbands job, but we are here at least twice a month. They had to see that we keep the house clean and clearly people come here on a regular basis. How can I keep them from breaking into my home again? Can I remove the locks that they put on?
Thank you, Violated in California.

I live in Georgia, contact me if you have a problems with MCS. They changed my locks too!...I've got a HUGE case against Wells Fargo because of this very reason in this blog. They ARE an independent contractor of Wells Fargo and Wells Fargo will attest they hired them (through an attorney's office doing foreclosures).

Double checked with my loan company (Wells Fargo) and they said they've never heard of MCS. The rep I spoke with said if they were to contact me, they would do it directly. Seems like scam to me.

I got the same postcard , I do think it's a scam.
I did not call the number

I asked a representative from my mortgage company if they contracted with MCS and if I should call them or respond to the card. The representative said "NO" they were not familiar with them at all, and did not want me to call them. They said if they needed that information they would get it from me directly. I'm not responding.

They illegally changed locks on an occupied property without proper eviction notice. I may own this company when I get through with them...or shut them down.

I don't get calls from them, but they send me postcards through snail mail with the same kind of info / request.

I've gotten several of these over the last 3 years. I would bet that if I did contact my mortgage company, they would tell me that MCS has NO business whatsoever with them.

Called the number on the back of the postcard and got an automated system that had me enter a ref code from the front of the card. Once I entered it the system said that the records were updated and that was it.

I have received dozens of calls from the phone# 1-877-594-6873 as well as the post card in the mail with the same info as listed above...Here is where you all got it wrong!
1) There is a legitimate company in Tampa Florida by the name MCS and yes the website you have listed above is for this company, their contact info is not the same as the one you are receiving calls or postcards from...
2) However, the other company sending you a postcard and or phone calls under MCS -4830 W Kennedy Blvd Suite 950, Tampa Florida 33609 (ph# 877-594-6873) is actually a scam for someone claiming to be an attorney office under the name McLean & Schect (hence the abbreviation MCS) they are in NO WAY affiliated with MCS (Mortgage Contracting Services) which is in fact a legit company.
DO NOT CALL THIS PH# Back as they are crooks! They are con artist using a legitimate company's name to illegally gain entrance into your private life! REPORT THEM TO your phone company for abuse & report the postcard to your local USPS office!

This company performs services for loan companies. They should be treated like any other collection agency. Follow the laws and hold them accountable if they don't.
| JOHN DOE 2010-07-26 19:16:37 Unknown |
ED you are incorrect. I verified with the mortgage company that this was a legit deal. They are checking to make sure homes are occupied.
