It is Leukemia Society asking for donations.....if you call back, there is a prompt to enter your phone number to have it removed from their list.

its Rachel from card services I get at least one or two calls a day from these people number is different but close to the same number each time. I am on the do not call list but has NOT helped

And all of that personal info you give them to have your number removed from their list is then sold or given to other telespammers.

I never ever answer any calls that I don't recognize. If it is a real call and important enough, they will leave a message.

Not sure what to think.  When I called the number back, it was for a blood drive for leukemia?

Add me to the list of people who get called, and static after a few seconds.  I have a feeling this is a
"mining" scheme where they dial and attempt to reach FAX numbers, hence the static.
Once the computer verifies that it has a fax, the call is recorded in to their data base, and sold to telemarketers who use fax for their method of spam.

Another option:  This computer calls to verify a "hot" number and when you answer, it registers it as a good number for sale to telemarketers.  

THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS S***:  Petition your state representative and INSIST that SPOOFED CALLER ID BE ILLEGAL AND THAT IT IS A FEDERAL CRIME,  SIMILAR TO MAIL FRAUD.  

What a joke, when our "Government" puts a telemarketing law into place and essentially REFUSED to enforce it, OR allow it to be enforced.

This number calls me several times a day... Not sure who or what they are. I thought it was Harley Davidson, but apparently not. They call from about 10 different numbers, even if my payment is made on time, or 1 day late. If I tell them its paid, they say "I just wanted to thank you for that".. They are a**#$%^%.... But maybe this one isnt them.. Cant take blood from a rock, so carry on !!!

I am getting many, many calls from the same numbers as Jeff in MD above. We have donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in the past so they are not constrained from calling even though I am on the Do Not Call Registry. However, if you go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society website, there is an option on their "Contact Us" page for communication preferences and you may have your number removed from their telemarketing list. I'll stop back and let you know if that actually works.

This number calls and calls, including late on Sunday night. incredibly annoying!   I am on the do not call list, but this number keeps coming through. I'm thinking about removing my phone.

We get repeated calls from this number. when we answer, there is never anyone there. Stop this!

So here we are Sunday afternoon preparing dinner, the table is set, the guests are here, and we get yet another call from "not provided".  Happy Sunday....get a life!

Unsolicited call.  Keeps calling.  Do not call list does not apply to them?

We are on the Do Not Call list yet this number calls us daily. I never answer the calls, but they always stay online long enough to show that we have a message.

I called the number, AND listened to the prompts.  There IS an option to have this number removed from their calling list.  While they ARE a good organization, 8 am calls are not appreciated.  According to their message, federal law requires them to remove your phone number within 30 days.

This number calls at least 2x a day; sometimes 1-2x in the eve (caller ID info) I have an "unsolicited call blocking" via my landline provider; however, some how this number gets through.  Every time I pick up, there's no one on the other end, or the call disconnects as soon as I pick up. It is the leukemia/lymphoma society.  I have told them months, and  months ago I did not want them calling anymore, to remove my name from their call list, and that  I would not contribute to any organization that keeps bothering me via phone.  I made the mistake of helping this organization once with their drive about 2 years ago, but now they are now relentless with the disturbing calls.  I do contribute to several charities/societies, but they are ones that respect my privacy and do not call all the time.   Very, very tired of the whole thing.

If this is legit,which I highly doubt, they need a better course in communications.

This phone number has several last four digits and they all call me - hang up - no message. From what I read above it is the Leukemia/Lymphona Society.  Can't someone stop them from being such a pest.

Had 2 hang up calls on my office voicemail from this number. I've never given them money and have no intention of donating to anyone who uses telemarketing. I just filled out the form on the link posted by BF (thanks for posting!). We'll see if it works.

Thank you BF. I just filled out an online form to be removed from their calling list. I have donated a few times through my daughter, who has done triathlons through Team in Training. I do not want to be receiving calls though. I will donate when I feel I can.

I too have been getting these calls (from many different numbers), and I just called The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society directly to explain the situation and ask to be taken off the call list.  I spoke with a woman named Marie (didn't catch her last name), and she took my name and number and assured me I'd be off the calling list within 24 hours. She was very friendly, apologetic and seemed to completely understand my frustration.  If I continue to get calls after 24 hours, I'll post a follow up message.  I've included their contact info below for those who may want to do what I did.
