Called, I picked up and after a pause was hung up on.  I can only assume this is a Sally Mae number.  I'll keep this page updated if it proves to be untrue.  Please post if you got something on this.

I have had the same thing happen to me just this past week.  My coupon book ran out in September and I thought nothing of it.  October came and went I never paid my loan because I normally keep my payment coupon book by my bills.  They never contacted me until last week regarding my late payment.  When they called, I answered on 3 different occasions and every time was hung up on.  Finally I was able to reach someone, but I had to call them.  The first lady I spoke with confirmed my address and said that she would send me a new coupon book.  I asked why it did not come to me since my address was correct in the system and all she said was "I'm not sure".  No sooner did I hang up the phone and Sallie Mae was contacting me, different lady this time.  I explained to her that I just got off the phone with someone.  This "customer service" rep then explained to me that it was my responsibility to contact them for a new payment coupon book, that they were not just mailed out.  She explained that she need my "consent" to mail a new book.  (I'm sorry...Isn't that what the MPN - Master Promissory Note is for).  You know, the document you need to sign in order to receive a loan which HAS TO HAVE YOUR SIGNATURE ON IT.  If I already agreed to the loan, why do you need my "consent" to send me a coupon book.  I then started to get upset with this rep and instead of keeping her cool, she proceeded to yell back at me and was very rude.  

Long story short, Sallie Mae is a joke and they have no customer service.  What they do by not answering calls is illegal.

877-598-0067 Yes its Sallie Mae and Yes, they believe that they are above the law!!!  I have file multip[le complaints with the FTC regarding their tactics because they call and if you answer, they will contionue to call about every 20 mins - the catch is with those calls as soon as you answer and say anything they hang up!!  This is illegal and a violation of the Fai Debt Collection Act.  I have written them to remove my work number, they tell the FTC that they have, but they continue to call!!  They are the absolute worst company to deal with, they lie and don't care because they fell they are above the law.

Yes...  Big, powerful Sallie Mae has my number and dials it occasionally.  Get over it!  Anyone with a telephone could dial your number if they had it.  But, yeah.  They call me at work and don't leave messages.  I don't have loans with them.  I still manage to get by somehow, though.

That is Sallie Mae.  F*** Sallie Mae.

Sallie Mae keeps calling my home looking for my sister, won't take my number off of their list until they get a new number for her.... It is my number and have no idea how to get in touch with her.  These organizations have way to much power to be able to do whatever they want.
