They have given me a great service( great program), this is only a consulting company matching you up with available funding for 2008, this is not a fraud, I have received a great service,(package, costumer service) however this is not a grant, it's more like financial assistance. (they do not have any complaints with the bbb)I got money for my education!

Step 4: Learn about homebuying programs
  Homebuying programs in your state

FHA loan programs offer lower downpayments and are a good option for first-time homebuyers.

  Let FHA help you
HUD's special homebuying programs    Good Neighbor Next Door (formerly known as Teacher/Officer/Firefighter Next Door)
  Hurricane Evacuees discounted sales
  Homeownership for public housing residents
Indian Home Loan Guarantee Program (Section 184)

Step 5: Shop for a home
  Choose a real estate agent
Wish list - what features do you want?
Home-shopping checklist ? take this list with you when comparing homes
Homes for sale (including HUD homes)
  " Fixer-uppers " - home purchase and repair programs
  Manufactured (mobile) homes
  Build a home

If you choose a home in a neighborhood with a Home Owners Association (HOA), be sure to request a copy of the HOA packet, so you can review before closing.

I really think you have made a mistake by targeting our company.  I think you have the wrong company as we do not provide grants.  We simply do research for clients who are seeking financial assistance.  If in fact you are a client I would like you to leave your name and telephone number and we will get back to you to discuss this matter, as it is not fair that you have targeted our company with this negative message.

I was wrong about alliance, they did repay the money but it just took so long and the person in charge was out sick for a week.  What Alliance does is only consult.  You fill out the forms and they will send you leads as to where you apply for grants.  If you do decide to cancel the contract, they will refund your money.  Sorry about the bad report previously.

I had the same problem.Got denial letters from places that they gave me to check.Said they never got them. When I first went for thier line they told me the places they sent me web sites and bussinesses that didn't even apply to what I needed .I needed grant help for an addition as we live in a 2 story house and I have to crawl or sit and go 1 step at a time.I am disabled as I have a spinal cord injury, periphal neuropathy,10 ruptured disc's,a bone spur at the base of my head that is almost completly closed off around cord among many other health problems. They asked me how I thought I would need and I told them at least $30,000.00 and they told me I qualified for at least that much so I sent them the money and it took a month to get the packet.
When I recieved it it basically berated me,told me I was under educated and had to much unsecurd debt(hospital bills). It had web sites for Pell grant and other collages food stamps many others.I have called them since the second week every week sent the original denials because they didn't help with that.(I was stupid and didn't copy them). They did send another 6 page document all for the other side of the state for brownfield grants and such. They hang up on me or put me on hold and never call back.Tell me that the time is up for refund and I have been fighting with them since last May.(2 weeks after getting it.)THIS IS A SCAM. Don't send them money!!!!!! I could go on and on about this place but hands not working well now.Mark

SCAM......SCAM........SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This company is running a full proof scam.  They got me good.  I was convinced by the caller that she would find me 5000 dollars worth of scholarships and grants.  I recieved the exact information that I received from fasfa and I was not allowed to get my refund.  this company says they will refund you your money if you can generate 3 denial letters.  The problem is......they don't give you enough options to get three letters of denial.  I got one scholarship opportunity that I was not elegible for and a federal pell grant, that I automatically am elegible for through fasfa.  The rest of the information was for applying for a bank loan and child care.  This company is terrible and the people who work for it are unethical and manipulative.  DON'T TRUST THIS CALL.  LET ME BE THE EXAMPLE FOR YOU TO LEARN FROM.  BY YOU NOT CONTRIBUTING TO THE DELIQUENCY OF THIS SCAMMING ORGANIZATION, YOU WILL BE HELPING ME AND EVERYONE THAT HAS BEEN SCAMMED BY THESE PEOPLE, GET BACK AT THEM.  HOPEFULLY THIS HELPS YOU ALL WONDERING ABOUT THIS COMPANY THAT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE.

This so called company has an address in an apartment building (low income looking place) 302A West 12th St. #112 NY,NY 10014.  The name trick people up because there is an insurance company with that same name. I ordered the package as well and tried to cancel the order. I told them that I was not financially able at this time.  They kept blowing up my phone for a month. Two months later, $298.00 was taken from my account anyways. Then the booklet came asking to many personal questions about my life. This threw my whole account off and I've been struggling every since.

Well I have paid the $298, when it came out of my account it did say, Alliance Benefits 8889318787.  They have sent my a questionnaire, which I just completed and will send back.  I guess after that I'll just see what happens.  Hopefully it's not a $298 lesson to learn!  I'll keep you posted.  They say it takes 4-6 weeks to process the questionnaire, so if after six weeks I don't hear anything - you'll all be the first to know.

I recently contracted with Alliance, although I have a different phone number for them.  I was and am extremely disappointed with the service, or lack of, that I have received from them.  They twist their policies to hide their mistakes.  I did not receive my questionare packet within the 20 business days.  They told me it had mailed out on 5-23-08, but was not postmarked until 6-4-08.  They had the audacity to tell me that it sat at the post office for 2 weeks.  What really happened was that they didn't mail it to me until after the second time that I had called.  When I did receive it, the cover letter was addressed to "Dear Client", and the packet had the same questions that I had been filling out for numerous other scholarships and grants.  I was made to believe that the packet would be specific to my needs.  I was even asked if I would like information on housing benefits.  I then decided to cancel, and I am still fighting with them to get my money back.  Their paperwork clearly states that I should receive my money back within 20 days of the receipt of cancellation.  I still haven't gotten it.  They also call the fee a shipping and handling fee, which it is not.  It should be a cancellation fee.  They spent $1.40 to ship me nothing.  They also change the fee at the last minute.

Ok, so I did this as well but not naive enough to send money. I went to the the Better Business Bureau's website and typed in "Alliance Financial". It brings up a few with a similar name." State One Financial" is it's alternate company name. Copy and paste this to your browser, check out the false address comments, complaints, etc. http://search.buffalo.bbb.org/codbrep.html?ID=17003354#Complaints

Is there anymore information you can offer about the process. Once the $300 is paid you're suppose to receive an application to complete.  What was the name of the company that actually funded you the money?  I understand that Alliance Benefit Consultant is just that - a consultant and they link you to agencies that grant scholarship monies, etc.  When your account was debited what was the name of the draft?  I am interested in moving forward I just want a more detailed testimonial from you.  Thanks!

I just received a call a few minutes ago from Renee Ward calling on behalf of Alliance Benefits Consultants stating that I needed to pay $298 application/processing/one-time fee to receive a free government or private grant that doesn't have to be paid back. If I received less than $5K then I would be reimbursed my money. I asked them to send me the details in writing and they said they couldn't until after they received my money. So I hung up after telling the lady I would research the company and call them back. The only thing I could find on them is this 800 Notes blog. This is definitely a scam. I was looking for funding for my education.
