Getting the same calls. If it's BMO you can bet they're trying to sell you something. Best to complain to a BMO branch about their rudeness.

Got a call from this number, googled it and landed here.  I have ZERO tolerance for spam and botcalls, and I have my own VOIP setup that allows me to kill these calls.  One call from BMO (real or not), and this 877 # is history... it's blocked forever.

My BMO banker told me about a scam that's making the rounds - the caller says they're from BMO Mastercard and that there have been some unusual charges on your credit card lately, such as a big screen TV in Florida. You freak out, say "I didn't buy that!" and they assure you that you won't have to pay the bill. They just need to know that your credit card is actually in your possession.  They already have your credit card info, you just need to confirm the three numbers on the back of the card.

It sounds legit but remember that all they need to use your credit card number online is that three-digit code. Once they have it, they go out and buy that big screen TV, which shows up on your statement. You, of course, don't worry because they told you that you won't have to pay for it. After awhile, the REAL credit card company will call and say you have this outstanding balance. You tell them that it's already been dealt with, then they tell you "Sorry, you've been scammed." Meanwhile, the bad guys have had a month or longer to get away with the scam.

What a scam !!!!      Called back the 877-604-5268 number and the person who answered the call "claimed" I was speaking to The Bank of Montreal at a totally different number then the above.  She put me on hold and called the above number because she didn't know what it was. Then the person proceeded to ask me for my bank card number and when I refused to give it to her and asked to speak to her supervisor, well guess what, she hung up on me.  I then called the REAL Bank of Montreal and reported it.  They seemed unconcerned.  I just write this because so many seniors get scammed by this type of cons.  Don't give them any info, just block the number.

These guys have called daily for weeks now, sometimes more than once / day. I say Block if you can, or, if u want them to stop - take a deep breath, answer, and (dont let them interrupt u :) firmly state u don't require whatever it is they have, and further, to be removed immediately from their call list.  Goodbye!
It would be great if any of these telemarketing calls would just leave a message ONCE, it's so frustrating!
Good luck everyone!

Yup, it's BMO.  If you call the number back, they have a recorded message which confirms that they are calling you trying to 'ensure that their services continue to meet your changing needs'.
Pressing "1" takes you to a telephone jockey, who will take you off their "marketing list"... but it's only effective after a few weeks... I.E.: they will probably still call me tomorrow.  *sigh*

large corporations, banks, telephone companies etc., hire different immigrant groups new to canada and desperate people who cannot find work. these unfortunate people report to a call center and are forced to make these obscene and annoying solicitious phone calls for $10.00/hour. the real guilt behind all this is always corporate executive officers whose motive is driven by greed despite people's right to peace. c.e.o's should all be ripped out of their ivory towers offices and hung as an example to other "would be" greed mongers, in my opinion. only then will we live in a more peaceful world.

Called the number back and they said they were offerring BMO life insurance.  They said if I was on the federal do not call list the calls would stop automatically, and soon.  But I did not give him any personal info of any kind when I called him.

This number has called me every afternoon for about three weeks now.  I"m to the point that I pick up the handset, click 'talk' then after a few seconds click 'end.'

I used to work for a business that had an 800 number.  When peeps called us, it was $5 per call we paid the phone company.  It sucked!  If they charged us that much for receiving, I figure that every outbound call made by these idiots will cost them.  Maybe not as much, but if they pay .35 cents each call, and call me five days a week, over three weeks I've cost them $5.25 and they haven't even had sense enough to leave a message and stop calling me.

I can keep this up as long as they can.

I cancelled my BMO US$ "no fee" mastercard a few weeks ago because they started charging a fee.  Ever since cancelling I've been getting calls from this number, they never leave a message.  When I call back it is a automated BMO message.
