Medical Bill collector seems to be a good bet...

I got a call and got this:
Recorded messages asked me to wait for next rep.

A man finally came on and asked  for   Axxxxxx Bxxxxxx  (the name of the person who these collectors are ALWAYS looking for who we have gotten medical bills for.)
I politely told him that there never has/will/ever been a  Axxxxxx Bxxxxxx here.  
He said "I'll take your number off the list."
I thanked him for that, and he, seemingly genuinely, said; "have a good evening."
I guess we'll see!!!

Well how bout that..!
Just moments after I posted the above message, the phone rang again.
It was from 8776098300
I answered it.  A recorded message asked me to wait for the next rep-I waited...

Same deal here.  Interesting to read Jacqueline's info We have been hounded for many years now for medical bills for someone with a similar name.  Maybe I should call them back... but these scavenger debt collectors will likely never give up.

I received several calls from this number per my caller ID, but there is never a message left.  I called it back and a very rude male answered the phone.  I asked who they were, and he mumbled a name which I could not make out.  Our conversation went as follows:

Me: "What do you do?"
Male Rep: "We handle personal business."
Me: "What kind of personal business?  I keep getting calls from this number, but no one leaves any message."
Male Rep: "What's the number we're calling?"
Me: "I don't know if I want to reveal that.  I might get more calls."
Male Rep: "Then we'll just keep calling you."  And he hung up.

I had a friend call the number back and the same man answered.  She asked hm to spell the name of the company, and he said it was Capio.  She asked what the company did, but he would not specifically say.  She asked if they collected debts, and the man said they "do all kinds of things" and that it was a "big company".  He asked for my number, presumably to tell me why the company was calling me.  We gave it to him, and without taking enough time to look it up, he immediately said they were looking for a fellow by a name I'd never heard before.  We told him we didn't know anyone by that name, and he said the number would be removed from their list.

Sounded pretty shady to me, so I Googled this Capio and found this: http://www.capiopartners.com/  Apparently, if the man is actually from that company, they are medical debt purchasers.  Which is fine, but if they were attempting to collect a debt, why not leave a message?  This doesn't pass the smell test.

calls many evry day and night who are they

everyday i get a phone call from 877-609-8300 and yet they leave no message or anything. do they call anyone else???
