Thanks to all that reported these "blood suckers". I have been out of work for quite a long time now and have become very desperate. I am close to homeless after my fiance' left with our daughter after 14 years together in July 2013, the following month, August,2013, my Daddy(who was also my best friend) passed away suddenly. My Papa passed only 3 years before(also very close to my heart and one of the best men I have had the honor to be related to). I have been through such devastating loss in such a short time, as the two men who would protect and love me to no end unconditionally, and one who was supposed to are gone. Needless to say the lack of trust and faith I have should have sounded the caution bells immediately, however the desperation for employment clouded my judgement. If I have learned anything since July it is "GO WITH YOUR GUT INSTINCT" and even more important like the old saying goes, if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. I am very fortunate i came across this site and all of your very helpful comments as I was about to give these people my info. It just goes to show that there are still good people out there. 1-877-616-6551 (message for movie extra)...If you live in or near a major city that is used regularly for filiming movies.  To become a movie extra does not cost you a dime.  Just a little of your time.  Google or go on facebook to find Casting Agencies for Movie Extra's in your area.  There is no up front fees, no required expensive contact/model photo's needed.  The casting agency will teach you and walk you through the process.  I have appear in nearly a dozen films (5 in the last 2 years).  If you are in metro Atlanta, look up CL Casting or Bill Marinella (they both have offices in several cities).  There are many in large cities.  Do not text reply back or call back to these toll free numbers, it will only validate your number for more future texts or calls.  Many of these so call businesses use a computer generate number system and your number could just randomly selected.  Majority of them do not know if they are call your home, cell phone, or office (job).  If you by chance answer and get a live caller on the other end.  Make a short and stern message that you do not have a need for their services and would appreciate it, if they would remove your number from their calling list.

FYI, the above number text me via my Sister's cell phone.  So, they are doing the NINJA thing (hiding in the shadows), to prevent from been track.  Scammers been doing the same thing for years via email.  Now they are able to do it via cell phones.

The DNC list is the most misunderstood item going! It only keeps the honest business honest, but it does not stop the dishonest, the scammers,frauds,and extortionists.. they don't obey the laws to begin with.   Reporting is used so they have the info and can establish a pattern, and of course, if the callers are out of the country, they do need that country's co-operation to stop and shut them down or arrest them!  Charity's and Political calls are exempt, but most will remove you if asked..  You can also sign up for a political no call list as well!

ROT: Don't answer calls you don't recognize, and don't push any buttons to remove or talk as this just verify's they have a live number!  If caller id, pick up and hang up asap!

You do need to report the calls you get appropriately.

What's the point of listing your number on the "do not call" list when nothing is done to stop these callers?

CASTING AGENCIES you dont pay to do extra i live near neworlean and i am a extra in alot of movie this one a scame

there is a casting compne that cast for extra not for extra as 300 i know i am a extra in movie

I get constant texts from 536-77 it says reply stop to sop but the text is bounced back to me.
877-616-6551 is a phone number listed in the text that i called and asked to be removed. They still hound me with unwanted texts.

I received a text message today from 619-450-3780 and it stated that movie extras wanted. To register call 1-877-616-6551. Why can't something be done about this? I am so tired of these scam and fraud text messages and their emails also!

These people are such scammers!  They can't even say "zip code".......instead they say "ceipt code".....WTH?!  Then they had the nerve to get mad at me, because I could not understand them.  Can you say "BLOCK?"

I have gotten many txt messages and some calls too they offer to pay 300 dollars per day lol OMG all offer many money so its no real the question is How can I do to block this number??

i actually AM a background artist and non-union, 10 hour day does't even come close to $300. per day.

Re.# 8776166551  This contact number was provided in a text concerning "MOVIE EXTRAS WANTED!" etc.  The message was sent 02/06/2012 from text-"address" 53677.  "53677" had sent a prior unsolicited text 02/02/2012: "Thanks for your submission! Get your $100 Gift Card now. Go to www.100cardNOW.com " etc.  I had made NO "submission".  The web-address routes to web-site www.retailbrandprize.com.  This may be the source of text-"address" 53677.  The "snail-mail" address listed: "RETAILBRANDPRIZE.COM  1055 WESTLAKE Dr, Ste 300  Bermyn, PA 19312".  However, there is no phone listing for said company, nor is there a "Bermyn, PA 19312".  There is a Berwyn, PA 19312 with that address.  "Ste 300" encompasses 11 phone numbers and companies.  On 02/08/2012, a text was sent from "53677" concerning hiring "Mystery Shoppers" etc.  The contact number provided: 8886597176 (no posts yet on 800notes).  As previously: "to unsub reply STOP".  For another "53677" post, check Suzanne Bargowski's dated 12/07/2011.  Hope this is helpful.  gizzy...

If u call ur cell carrier u can block these numbers from calling or put a block to ALL texts so u dont pay for them. They may charge a fee of like $5 a month or something but they will be able to credit u for the others.

FOLKS  DO NOT GIVE A A CREDIT CARD NUMBER   IT IS A SCAM  THERE ARE CASTING AGENCIES OUT THERE  THAT YOU USUALLY PAY ABOUT  $40-60  DOLLARS A YEAR THEY SEND YOU PAPER WORK AND YOU CAN PAY BY CHECK OR MONEY ORDER . I STRONGLY SUGGEST MONEY ORDER BECAUSE  THEY CAN NOW  FLOAT A CHECK WHAT THIS CONSIST OFF TAKING ONE OF YOUR CHECKS WHITE OUT WHAT YOU HAVE WRITTEN LEAVING IT BLANK  AND GUESS WHAT ---------------------
