One of multiple numbers used by the American Heart Association.  They are calling to either solicit a donation, or to try and rope you into distributing envelopes around your neighborhood for them.

If they spent their money on direct merketing, reather than constantly harassing people to get us to do their work for them, they might actually make a profit.

I do not answer calls from numbers not known to me, if I find out it is a call for donations and I know a way to block the call will do so.   I give to the charities of my choice, but when hassled withdraw any support.
My telephone is not for aggravation.

Just got a call from 877-619-1828. Did not answer. Will not answer. If they keep calling they will never get another donation from me. I donate once a year to certain charities. No more so quite calling, sending and selling my name.

i called the number back and it was the American Heart Association. David said he would remove my phone number from the calling list, also, would remove me from the list to be a mailer for the American Heart Association in 2011. We will see if they send out the packet and also get the calling canceled.

I receive calls from this number from 8:00 a.m. to late in the evening. It is a real pain. They don't leave a message, so I blocked the numbers on my phone. They still call! (The phone rings once, then shows the "missed call".) Thank you to Fixed It for the unbelievable amount of information. You are great! I will call them immediately.

This is a call from American Heart Association "Dear Neighbor Campaign" where you address "donation letters" to a list that (they supply) of your local neighborhood address, asking for donations for the American Heart Assn.    I did it a long time ago, now they want me to do it again.    The postage I had to supply.    The pitch is that the money gathered minus over head goes back to the local area from whence it came.

I called the number back.  The recording said it was the 2010 Dear Neighbor Campaign and to wait to speak to someone.  A woman came on the line and I asked her to remove my name from their call list.  She was very cordial and verified my number.  She apologized and said it would be removed immediately.  I'm hoping this is true.

I called with requests as Fixed it suggested above, I too received many calls from different 800 numbers belonging to AHA.  They're the worst offenders.  We'll see how effective it is, but the operator was very polite and agreed that my number and personal info would be removed.

Read the text below for how to get your number off their calling list (ie. you will need to call the 800-242-8721).  Ask for the operator, and when you are connected to the polite phone center, ask for your number to be removed.

My parents have been receiving these calls every day as well, and my mom has trouble getting to the phone on to get there and have no one speak to her.  I got angry and called the AHA, spoke to someone named Kelly and she promised to remove our number immediately and confirmed it with me. I am hoping this worked.
