Is this a for real debt collector? It is calling a cell phone for one of my workers and asking for someone who doesn't work here ... The gentleman refuses to say what company they are working for ...

Some one named Cindy Johnson called my father in laws cell number asking for me but wouldn't give any information. When my husband called her back she said I was under investigation and needed to call back immediately, but wouldn't give anything but a supposed account number. My husband incist that I call back and take care of it but he doesn't understand that these are scams and they use these tactics to get your account numbers. If they were legit they would give you all the information you are requesting in writing and over the phone, but they don't. My utility company even has a warning when you call stating that there are people calling saying you owe or can set up to make bill payments every month for you, just to get your account numbers and personal information. This is getting a little rediculous. the government needs to do something about this so that these people can be held responsible for what they are doing.

They called my home, asked for me, and then gave me a message that there were charges against my fiancé .. I thought that that was odd.. They wouldn't give me any other information.. Just a number for her to call.. I asked how did they get my name and number.. He said I was under investigation also..

THEY CALLED MY JOB AND GOT THE WRONG EXTENSION...SO THE PERSON TRANSFERRED THE CALL TO MY VOICMAIL......THE MESSAGE CAME FROM  559-487-7244 STATING THIS MESSAGE IS FOR MY MANAGER OF MY JOB.  THE MESSAGE STATED THERE HAVE BEEN CHARGED FILED AGAINST ME...I CALLED 877-628-6944 AND THE LADY SAID SHE NEEDED TO VERIFY SOME INFORMATION SUCH AS AN ADDRESS AND THE LAST FOUR DIGITS OF MY SOCIAL...I REFUSED TO VERIFY NEITHER ONE AND THEY CALLED TWICE AGAIN WITHOUT LEAVING A VOICEAMIL..THE VOICE WHO ANSWERED SAID HUNTINGTONS...I RESEARCHED ON THE INTERNET AND NO INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE......
