My mother owes no debt, and is being harassed by this company, whether they are a scam or not they should be stopped and held accountable for their behavior, she has been threatened, told they were in town,screamed, cursed. They will not leave their address and that makes it difficult to start the process, but we will get it. They tell her the debt is not hers but a distant relatives. Really do not understand how people who behave this way can sleep at night.

They keep calling and they are threatning to throw my husband in jail and they tell me they are from progressive......

I think we have no problem paying a ligit debt but these people refuse to give me any letter of collection, scan and e-mail me a copy of the check they say I bounced or anything. The place they said I took the loan out, I don't recall ever going to, again,they refuse to provide address or phone number for the original debt. SO before you talk down to us make sure you were not SCAMMED!

SHILL ALERT! What about proof of debt? 5 to 7 days to get proof of what? That you paid someone? Sorry, I don't just hand over money to anyone. That's what we're talking about here.

Just as I was ready to report this number...I received my PAID IN FULL letter. It did take about 5-7 business days as they said. I think the problem with those of you complaining is that you're the SCAMMERS. It's ashame that you take out these loans and KNOWING that you did so, and as soon as you get a call WHETHER IT BE COLLECTIONS OR NOT, YOU ASSUME YOU'RE BEING SCAMMED.  I really couldn't believe how much this company PROGRESSIVE had of my information- but it was true- I didn't wan't to pay them- but when I started to think about loosing my job, or this going on my credit, or having to go to court. I PAID IT, and they worked with me with a payment plan. I'm so glad that at the end of the day, I can say I'm debt FREE, can you?

They won't give me any information except for the last 4 of my old checking account, which they do have right. I asked for proof that I owe this dept and was told I lost my chance to negotiate by neglecting to pay my bill and will have my proof when I am served. They even called my job and left a detailed message with the receptionist after refusing to be put into my voicemail. I am afraid if they come to my place of employment I will no longer be employed.

If you legitimately owe money, have received legitimate documentation of the debt (not e-mails) and have had lawful communication with this company you might be a bit concerned. If you have not..give them nothing. No information. No money. No more of your time. It's quite obvious that these fools are so desperate they've had to employ shill tactics on this site. Record any further calls. These idiots are getting ripe for the picking. Even an internet "no up front money" Attorney will be able to give them a spanking! Do your homework and make a few bucks. The only thing these kind of people are better at then B***s*** is vanishing when the tables are turned. Why do you think they hide so well in the first place?

I agree with you that folks should pay what they owe; however, even the dimmest bulb knows by now that there are folks from undisclosed locations hacking information and spoofing (changing their caller i.d. and location to ANY NUMBER THEY WANT in order to harrass folks WHO DID NOT BORROW ANY MONEY into paying a DEBT THEY DO NOT OWE.  Yes, there are folks up to their eyeballs in payday loans - not a good idea to get one.  There are many citizens who have never taken out a loan who are harrassed and deceive by these scum who have enough personal information to be frightening.  

The wake up call America needs is to bring the average working salary up to speed with the ratio of inflation.  1950's and 1960's are a good template.  If we had kept up with that trend, the average median salary would be 99K per year rather than 36K and people trying to support a family on almost nothing wouldn't get so desperate that they feel they have nowhere else to turn.  Yes.  There are some folks who take advantage of the system and have a poor work ethic, but many of them are simply out of options.  WHAT ABOUT THE WEALTHY WHITE-COLLAR SCHMUCKS WHO BILK CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY FOR BILLIONS AND BILLIONS - AND THAT IS JUST FOR ONE PERSON, DEAR.  I WOULDN'T GET MY PANTIES IN A TWIST OVER SOME DESPERATE MEMBERS OF A DYING MIDDLE CLASS.  Tsk, tsk...

Ever play a game of monopoly?  It is a model of how a few people having everything doesn't work.  Instead of criticizing desperate folks, perhaps your wake up call should be redirected toward the rapacious greed and the imbalance of wealth and resource distribution.  I am not sure what the answer is, but one is not going to find it in the poor.  Why don't you go yell at the wealthy who ship jobs overseas and have massive tax shelters.  THOSE FOLKS ARE THE BUMS WHO ARE TAKING AND NOT GIVING BACK AND THEY HAVE MILLIONS AND BILLIONS OF DOLLARS.  THAT IS THE REAL SHAME, GREG.

I'd try a debt validation demand and tell them to cease and desist all phone contact as it is inconvenient and to only contact you in writing via USPS.  Send them certified, return receipt.   Also, check your credit reports to see if they are on there, if so use that address instead.  You can complain about them to your state's Attorney General and their state's Attorney General and the BBB, but some of these aren't members and don't seem to mind having an F rating.

I have recieved several calls from Robert Davis. He says I owe a pay day loan and bounced my check across state lines. He refuses to give me the address of this payday loan place and is threatning to serve me at my job. I have taken out payday loans in the past but don't think this compay is one that I worked with. I dont think I owe this money but he does have my old banking information and place of employment and a friends phone number that they called, also. How would he get this information if its not true? I can't afford to be scammed yet if it is a good dept, I will pay. I'm not sure what to do now that I am reading people have actually been served.

I got a call from this number just now, the woman first told me her name was Taylor Henderson, when I asked her her name again she said Debra something, she told me I was going to jail for writing a bad check: I don't have a checking account!!!!!!! She is nasty and it is disgusting how they bother people if anybody have their address please let me know so I can write them a letter. THanks!

Thanks, will try those, have tried the FTC, BBC, and local phone company who could not give me an address or block these calls on the land line. They are continuing, and were abusive yesterday. We spoke with Rob on Tuesday and he said they would stop  calling my  mother, but it just got worse. They are not saying this is her  debt but a distant family members.  If it is true business and I hope it is we are filing suit, if we can just get an address and we will.  They have screamed at her and cursed her,told her they were in town and threatened to come to her home.  I have a meeting with our Senators office this evening.

This in not a legitimate company or they would give your their address. Robert Davis is the guy (can't really call him a man) behind all of this. A legitimate company would never call an elderly person and start yelling and screaming at them. So sad people are so hard up these day they have to steal from others.  Report them to your State Attorney General and the Federal Communications Commissions. They can be stopped.

I was reciving calls from this number and thought it was a scam until yesterday while i was at work and got served by the sheriff. i thought it was a joke but when i open  the documents it was all about the pay day loan i had took out with check and go and everything that i was told was true. when i tried to call progressive back they told me that they could no longer help me being that i had a summons already. i now do belive that this is a legit company and i would make sure that all the info that they have are correct and true before u dismiss the calls. being that now i have to get a lawyer and handle this in court

The FTC was of not help on the phone, was told to send company a letter to stop calls, they will not give us their address. If anyone has any suggestions.

I really need to get theses to stop, my mother is older and these are terrible upsetting to her, they are not calling her about her debts they are some else.  I tried the above listed web site and was not able to file a claim, but after reading the information on the site they have broken several laws.

i got this call as well from progressive and the guy whom i spoke to was Rob.. i do owe loans so i thought this was legitimate but it looks like its not they asked me to pay 1000 straight and i told them i couldnt ive payed loans out before and they do except payments so it scared me to think they dont and if i didnt pay they would send me to court but its suspicous cuz i do not remember that loan company! omg what to do>???????

My mother is getting calls from this number. They tell her that her son-in-law owes a debt. Even told her they were on their way to his work at that moment, and would only stop if he would call them back immediately.  She is older and ill and this is very upsetting to her.
