Debt Collector
This number called my place of employment and my daughter and said that I needed to call and give a statement before a court date. Said I needed to call the Plaintiff and give them my statement and that if they didn't hear from me it would be marked as a denial and used against me. They never said who they were just left a number to call. The number went to NCS offices and they kept trying to get a credit card number from me.

You're right; they are not a law firm.
Calling someone on the phone does not constitute legal service.

I've received a couple of voicemails left on my landline saying the same stuff . . . it's pre-recorded and they don't specify who the message is for at all.

Smells fishy to me right off the bat.

Debt Collector
They call every day. Don't say who they are trying to reach only that there is a scheduled court date and they need a final statement before then. That I should call them. I've looked them up a few times and all of the sudden there is a site where your only option is to pay them. No account number needed but your credit or debit card. According to the site, they've only been an LLC since 2012. So, they MUST be a real company  with a long standing reputation. Driving me nuts! They've identified themselves 5 different ways so it's like they don't know if they are M&K Capital, M&K and Associates, Miller and Clark law firm... eh well, you get the idea. SCAM!

Have the same type calls from this number. Given 24 hours to return the call to avoid being served papers on a law suit.
I assumed it was a scam...this site verified that.  Thanks.

Debt Collector
Received many calls about an old loan that I know was paid off. Said they were calling from Miller and Clark firm. Said I had a court date, and if I didn't pay over the phone right then and there, they were going to send a private investigator to find me, threatened to arrest me and suspend my drivers license. I have since received 2 calls from people who want to serve papers at my place of employment. Funny thing is, when you call the number back, there IS NO business name attached to the greeting....very strange. I have an attorney helping me with this.

I get these calls almost every day and they are scams since the info they give me is on things ive never had,. Never give them any personal information over the phone as they are probably scammers.

The District Court Clerk does NOT consider me duly served, nor does my Attorney General.  Any further messages left on my phone will be recorded and taken directly to my attorney for further handling with the proper authorities.  If you have something legitimately legal in nature,  send me a Certified letter in the mail.  Any further communications from you will be shared with the proper authorities.  Consider yourself "duly served."

Same as IER above - I also received a call stating that I needed to provide a statement for my court case.  I do not have a court case!  It was a message from a gentleman who claimed he was from M&K Associates. (also called it Miller and Clark Firm...wouldn't that be M & C?!?!)  I googled it and couldn't find either "firm" in existence.  He never said who he was leaving the message for....and said a package was to be signed at my residence or place of work (but didn't provide an address).  Then a SECOND call a few minutes later by another gentleman who said that I my last message "served as notice."

I am going with SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!  and refuse to call back (you never know what hidden charges are tied to a number!)

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

I just got a call from Mr. Lonzo of M & K and Associates telling me they need to get my statement prior to a pending court date.  He said the clerk in my district considers me duly served.  This is a scam bring perpetrated by a scum bag debt collector and every call they make is a felony because they are trying to pass themselves off as attorneys.

Mr. Lonzo:  FYI -- The District Court Clerk does NOT consider me duly served, nor does my Attorney General.  Any further messages left on my phone are to be recorded and taken directly to my attorney for further handling with the proper authorities.  If you have something legitimately legal in nature, you send me a Certified letter in the mail.  Any further communications from you will be shared with the proper authorities.  Consider yourself "duly served."

Received a call from from this number two days back to back, first day they stated that I received a packet that was signed for and he wanted to discuss page 15 of the packet as it pertains to my assigned court date and time. he said his name was Anthony Miller w/Miller & Clark Firm...the second day it was Alonzo w/ M&K Associates and i am requested to provide a statement and that i have officially been notified... it's definitely a recording b/c the vmail starts off finishing up the previous persons message. smh. Also, there is NO NAME for who they are calling for....so now MY LAWYER stated that this is not legit simply b/c they would be notifying me soley in writing and furthermore i haven't broken any laws whatsoever so they really need to stop. b/c as long as my BLOCK button works, i will continute to block them.

Received two voice messages from this number.  Each asking for a return call in reference to a "lawsuit filed" or in reference to "a packet signed for at my home or place of employment."  One mentioned wanting to "go over page 15 of the packet".  One of the messages threatened that I only had 24 hours to return the call and that the caller had "some business in court today" but I should call anyway and talk to his "associates."

One word about this nonsense:  Wow!

Also mentioned something about a package that was delivered and signed for by someone at my place of employment and wanting to go over page 15 of the documentation.  Haven't been able to find anything on either of these businesses.

Keep getting messages from 877.630.7351, a different person each time and it's a pre-recorded message stating they are contacting me about my 1/3 court date.  I've gone out and have found no court records in my city or state.  Sounds like a bogus call.
