HI I just read your post about the letter you received.  I also received the same letter and was not too convinced about the prize.  So I called them to see what it was all about. The guy told me that I won the membership fee and that the only thing we had to pay was the maintenance fee which started out as 535.00 and since has been reduced to 355.00. We are a little hesitant just giving up our money like this when we don't really have much info on this company.  We have done some investigating   the internet but keep finding stuff about a scam.  We seem to think that if we can get a weeks holiday for only 355.00 why not try it.  If we don't like it we can always get our money back.
I would like to know if you have gone an a vacation with them or have signed up yet.  Getting someone else s  opinion will help with the decision.
Thanks!

Note today is March 4, 2009 I just recieved a letter from clubseasonscanda.ca stating, I have won a draw, Grand Prize Draw Entry#024647309, to contact a Carole at 1-877-646-4822 and that I have (7)days to respond from date of letter, Date on letter February 25, 2009 in which I recieved the Letter today March 3, 2009, saying I won bonus awards worth $5950. Note when I call the number on the letter, it would not let me leave a message etc or it indicates please wait for next available representative. So therefore this is by means of conatct through me. I will also have a copy of what I have written to ensure there is no mistakes of what clubseasonscanada.ca has indicated on the letter you sent me.
This is means of contact please send me my $5950.00 bonus award to me. Thank you inadvance and will be looking forward hearing from you, this is now the second time I am trying to get info on the letter saying I won in which no one is responding back or even picking up the phone, again take note I called the number provided at 5pm Saskatchewan time on March 3, 2009 and I called again on March 4, 2009 at 11am Saskatchewan time.
or I will  be providing the leter to the BBB of Canada.

Looking forward to hearing from a Carole to Discuss my winnings, also this is also my means of contact. Note I even sent the email, So now people what they are doing is instead of them call you, you have to contact them HMMMM,

Make sure people report all info to Better Business Beureau of canada

I entered something on one of the coupons website for a contest sponsored by them and received the same letter. Ive been to a few timeshare presentations and hence know how they work. yes they're very high pressured sales-but you can always say no. you get a weeks stay, or 50% off Disney tickets etc etc for an hr of your time-why would you think its a scam? you give your time for them to have an opportunity to sell something-you say no-you still win by getting what they offer in their promotion. In fact if you're smart you would use this system to save money on your vacations-esp in Florida.

for this one though they're offering half off the yrly maintenance fee so you pay $344 for 7 nights at one of their resorts-I figure instead of booking a cottage for 2-3 nights for the same price-one can use this for 7 nights and take another couple along. Its refundable too-you can call back and tell them you didn't like it and they will refund your money back.
I asked them all possible questions about canceling down the road etc... and its not a contract - they said you can call and let them know you dont want to pay that yrs maintenance fee and relinquish your membership. The worst things about timeshares is their joining membership fee-which can run from $20k to $75k+ for the best resorts like Disney etc. so in this case you're not being asked to pay the membership fee-just the annual maintenance fee. so its a good deal i think - instead of buying a cottage to use for a week a yr-just pay the annual maint. fee and let someone else maintain it.

and no i dont work for them-I got the letter day before yesterday and have since being writing emails to them, reading up on the net and doing my homework before I call them back.

Yes amazing isn't it, WOW valued at $5950. Ever hear if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. I feel sorry for those who fall victim. This is there job, probably because they can't get a real job. Does Rod Black know about it, does he actually support this. This is a scam bordering just inside the boundries of the Law

Just got my congrat letter. The company is a legit vacation/timeshare company linked to GeoHoliday. The issue is their marketing approach. The whole intent behind the letter is deceiptful: There is no mention of travel, only that "my entry has been selected for a bonus award". The letter uses the Re: before the salutation to try and trick the reader into thinking that they had iniated the correspondence. They also state a bogus "call to action" (which advertisers use to create urgency for response) by saying the offer will expire in seven days. The letter also suffers from poor style and lack of flow (They congrgulate ME because Rod Black will select at least 50 people - Why I deserve congrats for doesn't make sense).

I got a cal from Lyndsey, who's boss must really have hr on some incentive, because she started talking to me dirty, just to try to get my credit card number. For all I know, she's fat... but she did tell me that the owner of the company is named Bernie, he sounds Irish, and that they also sell time shares to people that come to their appointments.

Judging by the way they do business, I wouldn't trust them, even if it was a real deal.

Don't lose your money!

I am amazed at how people will diss everything without using their own investigative skills. Just because something is written about on the internet in some chat room doesn't make it truthful or necessarily valid.
I went on a trip with club seasons and really enjoyed it- I went to Hawaii and for only $344 got seven nights and eight days at a very nice resort, and what I saved on accomodation, my wife and I were able to afford much better food and night life, as well as shopping. I am very thankful to club seasons and would recommend them to anyone.

Hi There,
I agree with you. We joined and are very happy with the club. It's easy to dis something you haven't even tried. The resorts are beautiful and worth far more than the membership fee.  Where did you book your airfare?

I called in and got the answering machine and forgot to leave my phone number. They emailed me saying they received the message but that they did not have my phone number and if I could, to call back. I did call back and listened to the pitch. Seems like a good deal but I don't travel a lot so I figured I'd think about it. They called a week later to tell me my time to activate was up and that was it. I think you must be mistaken about which company is calling you all the time they just left me that one message and I've never heard from them again.

I actually got the membership with Clubseasons Canada. My family and I went on our first vaction to  Costa Rica and to be honest, I felt we were cheating the company. We paid $516.00 for a week of accomodations in a beautiful resort! There is no way I would have gotten a deal like that elsewhere. I don't know what you all are complaining about but I enjoyed my vacation and look forward to many more.
