This is a legit number for SEARS credit card services.  This is their fraud/security services.  Sears will leave a message on voicemail and this number was verified when I called the 800 number on the back of my card. Spoke with a very a polite and competent representative.

I called Sears yesterday to have a new card sent to me, I was told I would receive a call within 24 hours to verify stuff as I did not have my old card when I called yesterday.  I received a call from this number today, no msg left though - but I think it's a legit call.

This number is safe, I called sears to verify that it had indeed been them who had called and they said they just wanted to verify some transactions.  But if you are not sure just call the phone number on your Sears credit card bill and make sure, better safe than sorry.

I called Sears credit today. (Actually, it was "Sears" still call the card "Sears" but it is really an old Sears charge account since sold to Citibank, and it's now a Sears "Gold" Mastercard. Anyway, I called them to inquire on a balance transfer offer. That was this AM. Just now this number calls me... no voice or sound, not even breathing on the other end, but did not disconnect.

I received the same call on my voice mail  regarding an urgent message about my sears account number ending in ****.  They wanted to be sure the transaction was legit.  However, when I think about the call, they were asking me all pertinent info to verify if I had made this transaction.  I gave them pretty much everything.  Of course name, address, but they also asked about my birthdate?   I asked why they needed to know my birthday and was told it was to verify that they were speaking to me.  I gave it (feeling very uneasy).  (I don"t believe they asked for my social but I can't be sure as they caught me offguard).  I just hope this was a legit call.  I haven't received my sears mastercard yet so I do not have the 800 number to verify the phone call.  It would be great if someone can post it for me so I can check.

I thought the same thing.  Except they told me it was not actually a "sears" card.  It was a MasterCard with the sears emblem at the top left hand corner.

Said they were from Sears Credit with vital info and required response within 2-3 days.

They called me wanting to know how they could help me with my Sears card and I told them they called me, I didn't call them and I don't have a Sears card.  I really don't know if it is Sears or not.

i CALLED AND GOT A RECORDING SAYING THEY WERE HOOTAMAKI FOOD SERVICE !!

Received call - called 800 number on back of card and they confirmed it was the Fraud Department trying to reach me.  Legit call.

i called the 1800 number for sears card and they said this was a legitimate caller.  they patched me thru and they wanted to verify charges which were real.

i dont have a searas account. they want me to verify transactions. call before 4 days.... or else what?

I was just left a message from 1977-647-8287. So I called around and found out its a scam don't give them a call back or personell info....
