got a call from Dublin calif claiming I owed 100 dollars of course they had info on me because their experts, I said I had no monies owed on any  loans and asked what the name of the company was and he said he was calling from turning point solutions in new York, yet the number came up Dublin calif.  These people make up names of companies, I have had to learn the hard way just don't answer calls that you don't recognize.  Can someone advise, should I file a police report just to let them know I receive these calls?

BTW: Collection Agencies must be licensed individually by state. If you check your state website you can find where collection agencies are registered. Turning Point Solutions LLC does not appear on the list of registered agencies in my state. Be sure to look up any agency that gives you grief. Chances are they cannot legally collect from you.

Know your rights and make them obey the law. That way, when "collectors" harass you for non-existent debts (or, on very, very, rare occasions, valid ones) you can be armed against them with the law.

Robocall with callback number 877-656-8768. If you press "1" you get an operator in Orchard Park, NY.

I pressed "1". (I am the switchboard operator at a medium sized business.)

I asked the person who answered the phone what the call was about. He stated the name of the perennial payday loan collection scam target here. (These criminals NEVER give up!) I then asked for the name of the company and the mailing address. After much hesitation he gave it. I then informed him that the company was not to call this business again. Eventually he hung up on me.

This is what they're calling themselves this week:

Turningpoint Solutions LLC - 877-656-8768
3221 Southwestern Blvd Orchard Park NY 14217
www.turningpointsolutionsllc.com

Other similar robocalls have originated from Orchard Park, NY. They are vaguely threatening: "If you do not respond we'll be forced to take action against you...Case# xxx has been referred to local authorities...we will be forced to make a decision..." blah blah.

The last call from the very same town claimed to be an attorney. All very fishy and similar to payday loan scams.

Beware. Check these FBI press releases before you give these guys the time of day.

Demand that ALL communication be in writing through the US postal service. Do not verify any information. If they claim they need your address in order to send you written info, you know it's a scam. They cannot make you pay them over the phone. Tell them they must operate according to law. Don't be intimidated.

The caller ID says Charlotte, NC. The number in the ID is fictitious. If you press "1" you get a call center in Orchard Park, NY. The callback number is 877-656-8768.

They keep calling for a Gala Jones - and I keep telling them they have the wrong number. They are extremely rude and annoying! I'm going to report them.

I continue to receive threatening voice mail messages from this number for Jennifer Canelli.  When I try to call it back to tell them this is not her number I get a disconnected message for an entirely different number.
