SICK AND TIRED OF TELEMARKETERS

Left a message saying they were SME and calling about my newspaper subscription...  (I don't subscribe to a newspaper)

I get the same type of calls on my cekl but never picked up.  
The number I get them from is 877-705-1117.
I decided to call it b/c I always thought it was telemarketing from Verizon calling me but
the greeting said "This is SME trying to reach you about a subscription to your local newspaper.  If you'd like to have your number removed enter it at the beep starting w/ the area code.  Sorry for the inconvenience."  I did.  That's when I decided to Google it and wow!  Can't believe this is going on so much!  Hopefully they won't scam me now that I called back and entered my cell phone number.

I am getting calls from 877-718-4934. No one ever answers and when I call back it says it is SME calling about a subscription from your local newspaper, please enter your 10 digit number to be removed. I think its a phone-bot phishing for good numbers. I wouldn't enter your number. I am going to call my phone company and see if they can block these numbers.

Got a call from this # 5 diferent times, I asked to be removed. Hope it works. I hate Spam calls. I too, like others am on the "Do not call List" They call anyway and waste my minutes as I only use a cell phone. Wish they had to pay for all the wasted minutes that I have to pay for.

Thanks for the info.  I called 877 659 3971 and selected to remove my work number from their automated phone calls several times a day.  I hope it works.

They call several times a day.  On the DO NOT CALL list.

Get a call every morning at about 10 am. Normally do not answer numbers I do recognize, but picked up today and no one spoke. There was just a beep and then got disconnected. And yes, I am on the Do Not Call registry too.

We get calls from TOLL FREE all the time. I know the newspaper subscription has called. I don't know how many other TOLL FREE numbers we get, but we get a lot. Who is able to register only as TOLL FREE???

This number calls me 2-3 times a day and nobody says anything... I've never been able to get a company name out of it.  It's a sprint cell phone... what network are you guys on? Is it a sprint related issue?

Getting regular calls after standard business hrs.  When I answer, the phone beeps once and then hangs up.  Call times:  Tue 7/6 7:53pm, Wed 7/7 6:15pm,   "Hello, you have reached SME calling about your local newspaper subscription..."  If you call the # back, you can select to be removed from their call list.

A female representative using the name of Susan Conner said she was offering to extend a subscription to a newspaper in New Jersey that I have never heard of. I reside in Maryland by the way. She then asked me for my credit card number so she could bill me for an annual subscription in order to avoid an interruption in service.  I haven't subscribed to any newspaper in over 15 years, much less one from New Jersey!  I abruptly ended the call. An hour later the same representative called my mobile phone, with the exact same offer,(what are the odds of that happening?) I immediately recongnized the female callers voice, only this time her name had changed to Nancy Smith. Again I was asked for my credit card number and I again ended that call abruptly. I am receiving up to 5-7 calls per day on both my landline and my mobile number, which I submitted a seperate complaint for that number as well. I have both my landline and my mobile numbers registered with the Do Not Call registry. Doesn't appear to deter them. Oddly enough I seem to get more calls now since I registered both of my numbers. I've had a cell phone going back as far as 1995, and in all that time I have never had a problem getting calls on my mobile. This just started happening about a year ago. I had managed to go 14 years without receiving unsolicited phone calls on my cell.

A female/thick accent called to confirm my address in order to offer a subscription to my local newspaper in San Diego.  She informed me she is a 3rd party call center located in the Caribbean.  I asked to be removed from the list; have been called no less than 20 times.

Hey SME - I'd like to meet that little piece of s**t on that recorded message about "my local newspaper subscription" I've opted out of receiving your calls about 100 times - filed complaints with DO NOT CALL registry & it's still going on - two or three times a day!!!!! NEXT STEP - MY ATTORNEY - HE'LL FIND OUT WHERE YOU ARE!!!

I am on the national do not call list, but this number calls every single day.  I have reported them.

This number appears as "800 Service" on my caller-id.  I'm incessantly getting robo-calls from this number several times a day asking for someone else.  They have an option to call back to them, notifying them of the incorrect number in their system.  I have done this but still get calls.

This number continually calls and since I had caller ID, I didn't answer at first.  I tried to call the number back, but got the message "Sorry we are not able to complete your call at this time".  When I finally did answer the ring, no one was there so I'm not sure where the calls are coming from.

I've been receiving calls from this number for weeks now and they call just about every day.  I answered it once and there was no response on the other line so I knew automatically it was a telemarkerter.  I just ignore the calls but it is annoying.  I'm thinking they'll stop calling when they realize I'm not going to answer??

received calls from this number a few times per week. never answer the calls and they never leave messages.  They can keep calling all they want. i will just keep not answering.

these silent callers have got to stop. i'm a receptionist for about 4 dozen companies and i have better things to do than answer phone calls with nobody on the other side. My boss's clients need their phone lines open for customers. Please take every 801-990-xxxx number off your do-not-call list!!!

Constant calls from number 877-659-3971, I don't answer and they don't leave a message.  Thing is, I pay for my phone, this isn't free and I'm registered with the national "do not call" list.  I want my phone available to only those that I desire to speak with; the telemarketers are excluded.  This is a quality of life issue and an invasion of privacy, where is our law enforcement?

The reason they disregard the dnc registry and keep calling is they are not a newspaper subscription service.  This is a collection agency trying to trap your phone number for verification that they are calling an active number.  I'm not certain, but I think it is Client Services, Inc. Other numbers they use are 800-521-3236 and 636-947-2321.

I'm on the no call list and have been for years. Wondering why a telemarketer can call, and call...

I'm on the do not call list.  They keep calling my cell phone, I'll report them, then it will stop briefly before they start all over again.
