I just received a phone call, they were very difficult to understand but asked me to call immediately.  I have no idea why they would be calling me.

They are con-artists hoping they call sombody with actuall debt that would give them their banking and other personal information. Keep records of these calls if posible and contact a lawyer and your State Atturney General for assistance. Not only are they trying to obtain your information but they will also continue calling at all hours of the day and will use fowl language which is harassment. You can also contact your local police department and charge them with harrasment.

These people have called several times and left no message, and when I call back mo answer.

i just received a call from this number, and i figured it was one of those annoying automated machines trying to tell me that i needed to do something regarding my auto insurance(who have called from all sorts of different numbers that i've looked up and found numerous complaints about).  so i picked up and heard somebody talking in the background and it startled me, so i asked who was calling..they asked for me directly, and the woman said her name was Amina White.  i had NO clue who this person was and HOW they got my cell phone number, but i told them they had the wrong number.  she then asked me "well, do you happen to know the person i'm calling for?" and i told them not to call again.  what the hell?

This is a collections agency out of Pennsylvania.  There is someone named Tom Hegan who represents himself as an attorney.  I check with the Pennsylvania Bar Association and he's not listed.

We received a call from 267-672-5091.  They asked for our Landlord.  I told them I didn't know who they were talking about, because I didn't want to be any part of it!

I like to know why they are calling our landlord at my house phone number, when this number is under my name, which is also unlisted and I am only the renter!  Isn't this illegal?  What are these people doing, looking up the address and calling the number that shows up? Hopeing to find whomever they are looking for..

877-672-5070 ext 529 - The guy calling is named Tom Hegan, says he is with a law office of the same name, and is very obnoxious and intimidating. He was looking for someone who owned my home previously and implied that my wife was lying when she told him he had the wrong number. He then lied to me by saying my phone number was in the other person's file. My phone number was never associated with the previous owner, which proves that this collector was lying and came by it illegally. When I questioned his methods of getting information, he shut up and hung up.

I just received a phone call, they asked for me directly but would not discuss the matter on my answering machine. I could not understand a word they said other than my name, so I have no idea why they would be calling me.

I received a call from them a few minutes ago and they made it sound urgent but wouldn't say what it is about on my machine.

They are a debt collection company, normally calling due to checking accounts that have been closed and had a balance due and probably had excessive fees charged to it by the bank.  I was called by them, as well.  They left a very unclear message, didn't say what it was pertaining too, but left a name Philip Black at ext. 539 and that it was urgent.  The man calling sounded drunk and at the end of the message said "That name doesn't ring a bell".  I guess he didn't hang up before he started talking to his buddy in customer service.  My adise is do not speak with them over the phone.  This method is not documented. You should have a some point received a letter from this company before the calls started, I did.  Write a letter to the company and try to work out arrangements, if you truly believe you owe the amount they are trying to collect.  If you disagree and dispute, you also need to type up a letter and send it to them.  Make sure you make a copy for yourself.  Remember this is probably on your credit record and even if you pay only 5 or 20 dollars a month, that counts as trying to pay, if it ever went to court.

They are probably calling to collect on a bank account that you closed with the banks fees. That's what happened to us. Got charged THOUSANDS in fees from Washington Mutual. Decided to just walk away from the account. I'll never pay them. I'd rather die than pay them. Even if I won the lottery, I wouldn't pay them. I'd spend THOUSANDS in attorney's fees just to make sure they didn't get a dime.

do you know how to make these people stop calling if you have an answering machine record a greeting saying that if this is a bill collector go see the government. these idiots call all day long. but so far this has helped.

This RETARDED company keeps calling for someone who doesnt even live in my hom or has ever. The person they are trying toreach is a co worker of mine How they even got my number is beyond me. This STUPID company calles like 20 times a day even though I explained this person does not live here- they continue to harrass me and my household at all hours of they day! ow can I make them stop?

I have been making payments to them for about a year and a half. Befor i was unable to make payments as to the fact that i was divoriced, lost my job and had five kids. I tried to tell them my situation but they did not care and asked if there was someone i could borrow the money from. That to me was where they crossed the line. Harrassing phone calls is one thing but when you try to drag peoples family and friends into it that is a whole nother story. It sucks to owe money to anyone and i always try to make my debt right. I want to live debt free and i am on my way but like all people there are times we are just doing good to feed and keep a roof over our heads. You would think that these people would have alittle compassion for those who are at least trying.

did they final settle the account

I went through a long process with this company, it took three weeks just to figure out who was calling me because their message cut them self off. i had never dealt with this before, I paid my bill, we made a deal to pay half and the rest would be thrown out. They said that there would be documentation. that my file was resolved. I never received said documentation, (I called to get my copy of the reciept for months and just get passed around until i get hung up on)and now I have another collection agency after me and no way to prove my side of the story.  Well I have learned my lesson about creditors but i dont know how to take care of the mess i have on my hands now.

Left message stating that I need to call them back.  Said that it was of the utmost importance.  That is when I looked them up on Google.

Batman.  I love your suggestion for him to go milk his goat.  I've not answered any of the calls but you have given me inspiration.  I won't give myself away now but my brain is cooking up a sweet senario to play on these fools.  If it works I'll post it because I don't want to change my number

For the last several months (3-4) I've been getting phone calls on my caller ID as Tate & Kirlin, 215-464-4500 or TATEKIRLIN without the ampersant.  And showing up with different phone numbers.  I know the 215 area is Philly because over the last 20yrs I spent a lot of time going to Philly & still do from time to time.  I have never answered the calls as it was is my guess that it was some fly by night attorney agency looking for someone with bad credit.  Yes, I have bad credit but even with that bad credit I am paying my bills on time.  So why would I answer a phone call from a Philly law firm especially those on Sunday.  I have an unlisted phone number, even my ex & his new wife don't have it & if they did they won't give it out.  Best thing I can do is file a complaint with Verizon & let my family know about this fraudulent behavior.  Thanks for being there everyone & I hope your troubles go away soon.

Have repeated received calls for an unfamiliar party with the same last name. Have repeatedly requested that we not be called for this person.  The representative that I spoke to was extremely rude and denied having our number in their system.  Strange, they call it about every other day!  I am sick and tired of being harrassed.

this group are relentless!! they call at all hours of the day! They call on Sunday mornings!!!I never pick up the phone when they call....I don't even know what they want!!After reading several posts about this group...I will never answer the phone!!

Caller left message for me to call him back at extention 508. Left his name as George. Gave my first name. Right name, wrong dude. They say I owe money to washington mutual bank-providian. someone with the same first and last name as me but totally different SSN. they keep bugging me to pay. I am going to report them to the attorney general's office.

Received a call that went to voice mail. I did my research (on this web site) before returning the call. Thank you all for posting and letting the rest of us know what's going on.

These people have called me and my ex many times. They try to get us against each other. They will not send me or my ex a bill or anything about our account. I will be reporting them to BBB and I think you should to.

Got a call from a Jack Perry from Tate & Kirlin A**.  Jack was very rude over the phone and told me that they have all the information on my checking account and that if I do not settle with them today that they will freeze my checking account until they receive the $120.27 that is owed.  The number that they gave me we 877-672-5070 ext 527.  When I call them back it went to a fax.  They said that I owe for a credit card that has been closed and settle back in "2006".  

I call the cardit card company and told them what happen.  They could not under stand why I was getting a call when the account is settle.  The recovery department will be getting in contact the Tate & Kirlin A** to tell them that I do not owe any money and the account it closed and they should not be calling me for an account that is 3 yrs old.

On Tues., 4/1 "Alex Jones" called our house regarding a BB&T account charge-off debt for around $200 from 2001 (?)! We paid off our debt with BBT in 2000 when we purchased a house (my husband and I did have some bad debt with BBT from a job loss and we did pay them off.) I expalined this. He said, I will take 50% today if you will pay. I said, why would I pay something we have already settled more than 8 years ago? "Alex," said It doesn't matter how long ago this was - you owe the money. We went back and forth - and then he asked for my credit card number. I again stated that I wasn't paying him anything, we don't owe the money. I also allowed that I had not heard from anyone at BBT since 2000 - proof to me that we do not owe them. They are not on our credit report. They do not show up at all in my mail box. In fact, we recently were approved for a home loan through them. If we had bad debt, we would not have been approved! He then was threatening me if I didn't pay we would get more and more calls. I told him I would no longer accept calls from their company and they could no longer call our home. He said that our account would be sold to another company then and we would be called again. He was unwilling to mail anything to my house (stating they did a year ago and trying to imply that we did not respond). I know we do not owe this money. And further, as others have stated, I wonder about BB&T and the information they (Tate and Kirlin) have about us.
