I received a call from this number this morning, and it appears that they are now a transportation company.  It seems it was just a wrong number, but I figured I would update this thread.

Sounds like all calls that keep calling are probably "harrassment calls!!"

they have been calling me every day and i am on the do not call list -
they call i pick up the phone i hear two beeps and it hangs up

This is a collection agency using a 'person locater' sub-contractor and address verification service company. The collection agency is BOUDREAU & Associates out of Massachusetts. I worked for these people, awful job, and I know the phone numbers and aliases they use. Richard J BOUDREAU is a Massachusetts only based attorney who uses another low life attorney in New Hampshire. Neither one of these maggot attorneys can practice law outside of the states they're licensed to practice law in.... MA & NH.

Nope, this is an agency that claims they do nationwide calls for charities. Call the number, listen to the recording. The message mentions that you may have opted out of calls on the nationwide "do not call" database BUT (and this is a BIG but) the "do not call" prohibition does not apply to outfits calling for charity.

call from 866-696-8597 as well, same thing - mds communicatinos.after picking up and immediately hitting mute button and call disconnected.  called them back and entered 1 to leave a voicemail to never call me again. i was even toned in voice so hopefully they will remove me.

I called this number back after it rang and hung up without leaving a message other than their number on my callerID.  They have a recording that explains that they are a fundraising number, and that fundraisers and nonprofits are exempt from the Do-Not-Call lists, which only apply to commercial callers.  The recording allowed me to enter my phone number with a request to either be put on a specific fundraiser's do-not-call list or their company-wide (i.e. for all their fundraisers) do-not-call list.  I find that more 800/877 callers now have this kind of option available if you take a moment to call them back and wait past the dead space on the recording to find out how to be removed from their lists.  If they don't, then I just add the callerID number to the list of numbers I have my phone company block.  This is a pretty successful strategy; I don't get nearly the number of junk calls that I used to.

I don't owe a penny to anyone and have no collections so this is not a debt collector calling. Because of curiosity, I've actually answered and, after a delayed few moments, a woman came on the line and called me by name and asked how I was doing. I said fine and the next thing I know my call was disconnected. She never called back. Very interesting. rofl

How can I stop these calls. The happen several times a day. I don't answer and they leave no message. And when I did answer there is no one there. What the hell is the purpose.....

I just got a call from that same number about 5 minutes ago.

Usually receive 1 or 2 calls per week.  I'll have to check my cell phone bill -- they are NOT debt collectors.

These people call everyday some times several times, they don't answer anymore if I do pick up, they are disrupting our lives.

I just went to their website and added my number to their Do Not Call list. Ahhhh 5 years of silence.

This number called every half hour for four hours this morning. They hung up when they got my machine. I was out for part of the day, so I don't know if it continued, but they called again, about 2 hours after I got home. Whoever invented answering machines, Thank You!

Keep getting calls from877-674-4280.  want them stopped.  Put them on my black list and the number changes slightly.

This number calls my cell phone every day and it is getting annoying.  Never a msg, but I wouldn't call an unknown name/number back anyway.

I called the number back and yelled at them to put me on their internal do not call.  I would go out of my way not to donate to their charities.  In fact, it has made me leary of donating to anything.  Jerks.

I just called the number. Its an organization that fronts fund raising calls, for charities, politicians, etc. they say they are exempt from the do not call list.

Keep getting calls from this number, but when I answer no one is on the other end, and I wait for quite a bit saying hello, hello , hello. very annoying. called back but got nothing but a busy signal.
