Here's a good general rule....

No summons...
No court date..

=  Send NO $$$$$$

Why would you ever send money to anyone without first going to court. In case you are unaware, there is NO debtors prison! Even if the court finds you guilty, you can make a payment arrangement that can take years to pay back... If you ever pay it back at all. The worse they can do is eventually try to garnish your wages.... If you have wages to garnish. A simple LLC set up in a "company name" can fix that. Then simply have your work checks made out to your LLC, not you. They are not after your LLC. Anyway, Don't lose any sleep over this crap! File the phone number in your contacts as "Idiot" or "Scams" or whatever, and give it a silent ring tone. This way when they call you won't even hear the ring.... And you no longer have to leave the volume off on your phone. Screw these idiots!! Never let a "phone call" ruin your life!!

Get a mailing address from them the next time they call and state that you will only deal with them through postal mail (registered mail/return receipt).  Once you have a mailing address, send them a debt validation request.  This will turn off collection activities while they scramble trying to find a way to validate that you own them the money and they have a right to collect it.  Also, you could send them a Cease and Desist letter, same way via registered mail so that they have to sign for it to prove they got it.  That will prevent them from bothering you on the phone and if they ignore the demand, you can take them to court for FDCPA violations.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

I've been getting calls from them also, David Banks and Irma. they called my job and questioned the receptionist about me. Some guy claiming to be a special investigator, when I called them back and asked for the investigator by name they said they don't know who that is. They have been calling from several different numbers, I just want them to stop calling. I have asked for an official validation of dept and to this day they have yet to provide it. By law they are suppose to provide you with a copy of the contract you have with the original creditor one with your signature. Until they can show proof that they are collecting on behalf of the creditor you don't have to pay them a dime. So I am looking for a legit address for PR&H can not find them online.
Please post an address if you find one.

I have posted two detailed messages months ago on what I did to stop them.  It has worked.  Again, I repeat, they are bogus and are not operating within any scope of the law.  They are a "clip joint" pseud-collection agency who is hired for getting pennies on the dollar for what someone has told them you owe.  Whether you do or not, it is the the issue.  Reread what I posted about laws requiring licenses for either a debt collector, and moste definely a law firm.  ALSO, IF THERE ARE LEGITIMATE CHARGES PENDING AGAINST YOU, YOU WOULD HAVE TO BE SERVED!!!!  Offering a settlement is obviously a last ditch effort to extort money from you.  Tell them NOTHING.  By the way, don't you realize the name "Samantha Jones" was Kim Cattrall's character on Sex in the City????

Phillip Rinehart and Associates are pieces of garbage.

They are trying to collect a debt from a Payday Loan I took out 2 years ago from Pepper Cash. I took out the 300 loan, and they took out 700. I closed my account because I was told even after they took 700, that I owed them another 670. I said forget it, I was told I was going to be paying a 75 fee on top of the loan, not 700 bucks! And I certainly wasn't paying them anymore then what they already took.

Apparently they sold by debt to Phillip Rinehart and Associates and they called me threatening to sue me and whatnot. I originally agreed to pay, but was told by the attorney I work for that they have to validate the debt and send me something in writing. He advised me to not give them any personal account information and they can send me a notice of the debt in the mail.

I called them and asked for this and they hung up. I asked them for a website to validate them and they hung up again. So I cancelled the card I initially gave them. So of course they are calling me regarding the debt. I again informed them if they sent m a notice in writing showing these charges I would be happy to hand it to my attorney for advise on how to settle. Click, they hung up again.

If they want me to settle this debt, they need to follow the law and send me something in person and they apparently wont do that.

I just received two messages from Philips Reinhardt & Associates.  They claimed that I had an outstanding loan of over $2000 for an online Cash Advance service.  This company's name is cashnetusa.com.  Over a year ago I had to close my bank account for fraud with this company.  This is the second time and second "legal" firm that has called stating that I will have two seperate counts of fraud filed against me and that I will have to settle in court.  They asked for a statement. When I questioned their legitimacy and provided information they hung up on me.  I have received two more calls from someone else now wanting to make a settlement.

There is no legit company "Phillip, Reinhardt, and Assoc."  I posted before stating to contact your states Department of Finance and/or the A.G.'s office. They are neither a legal collection agency or a law firm.  If they were either, they would have a license and would give you their number when asked. When I asked, the proverbial "Mr. Howard" just yelled at me and said they don't have to have a license.  Yes, no matter where they are calling from, they must have a VALID LICENSE, especially if they are a "legal firm", they must have an attorney who is licensed in the state they are contacting you in.  By the way, once you have told them not to call you, they are breaking the law by continuing.  They must provide written documentation of their business with you, (after you have informed them to stop calling).  You only need to tell them once to stop.  Also, apparently they do not know time zones.  A male actually argued with me about what time it was in my state, he had called before normal business hours in the AM.  He said "you don't know what you are talking about."  I think I can tell time, whatever.  They will hang up on you when you try to get answers they are legally obligated to provide.  THEY ARE INVADING YOUR HOME.  After my last encounter with them, I went down to the sheriff's office and had a little chat about this company.  BOGUS!!!! Keep a record of all calls, record them even if it is just an announcement left on your machine.  They are the slime of the earth.

These guys have been calling me and my mom?s house since July 2013, They call and say it has something to w/ a court matter, my brother answered the phone once and was freaked out because they told him If I do not call within 48 hours I will be arrested...LOL.  So anyways, I talked w/ them today.  I told them I was not going to pay until they validate the debt, they told me in Nov they mailed me and emailed .  I told him I never received anything and asked for re mail it, he said no because they also mailed and emailed it to me Jan 10. I told him I NEVER got it and to Validate this through mail and send it certified....... He hung up on me.. They have threatened me w/ a summons, jail, etc., but will not validate the debt, so why should I pay them?  Maybe cuz they are scum!  I?m mean if its legit then why wouldn?t the send me validation through certified mail to make sure I got whatever they were sending me......... HONESTLY I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN ANYTHING FROM THEM.

I have gotten 2 voicemails from this "Philip, Rhinehard" crap stating that if I don't contact them soon, they will move forward with the 2 charges they have against me. Legit places send certified mail when it comes to legal matters. They do not do it over the phone or internet. FILE THE CHARGES AGAINST ME as**ole.

All of the above I have been experiencing from some fake/front company they blast out stating they are the "offices of Philips, Rhinehart, and Associates."  They are breaking state as well as federal laws in their tactics.  They know it.  Please call your states Attorney General's office as well as you State's Department of Finance.  You will find out exactly what to do to stop them.  Also, you will be truly amazed that YOU do have some rights, and just how illegal their tactics are.  You will turn the tables on them and politely ask questions of them that if they were reputable could answer. They are not, so therefore get angry, deflect your questions, etc.  Also, record your conversation.  Good luck to others who are being harrassed by these illegal, unlicensed terrorists.  You can stop it.

spoke with a Mr Howard saying he represented a law firm of Philip Reinhardt and ??? Howard, spoke very quickly. He asked about a certain person that he said my elderly mother had used as a reference. I wouldn't give me certain information, not knowing who he really was and he said, "you're f*&^%)#@ rude!" and hung up. Now, this is supposedly a legal business. I called back and questioned his use of profanity and he defended it. I will legally find a way to stop this business. This is harassment. It is illegal to badger people. There are laws against this kind of harassment.
