I received a similar call, and the representative said her name was Valerie.  She had been in contact with me for several weeks, and even had someone else call me to confirm a toner shipment.  Then, called me back today to tell me that the toner was unavailable through them and we would have to get it from an external supplier.  She said they would fax me a form, which I should sign and send back.  I received the invoice from a Central Distributing Company, claiming to be in Culver City, CA.  It does not exist online.  The invoice said one toner cartridge would be $619.00, so I called our Toshiba Rep only to find out they had no idea about this.  So glad I did not get duped. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ORDERED TONER BEFORE AGREEING TO ANYTHING.  These people are calling without orders even being placed.

We got a call from 877-919-2160.  They misrepresented themselves making us think they were our regular toner company.  UPS delivered the package and we rejected it.  Will not pay the invoice when it comes.  I called my toner company to cancel the order but they said they never called here so I found out that I was scammed!!  The company on the package slip was Direct Distribution.

I recieved a phonecall today from "customer service" wanting to check on our photocopier.  When I asked the girl who she was with she said, "ABC Supply" or "Supplies" (not sure which).  I then told her, "We go through Fishers..." and she quickly hung up on me.

I feel sorry for those people.  They spend their days trying to scam people?  Pathetic.

I am a business owner in California, and they got me too.  I paid for one shipment thinking my obligation was over and now they sent me another.  They did pretty much their MO, toner price went up, get your same price now and save, misled me to belive they are our supplier.
I am busy and didnt have the time to research.  Shame on me.  THESE GUYS SCAMED ME!!!! >:[

Kaybee,

I am trying to return toner catridges today but I am afraid of losing the package and still having to pay for the invoice. So, are you still stuck with the package?

We also encountered this SCAM.  And this is what I found out.

According to the Better Business Bureau site, (under protect your business-know your rights) sectoin, if you receive merchandise that you didn't order, you do not have to pay for it nor do you have to return it, even if they send you a return label.

You get to consider it a donation!!  Merry Christmas

File a complaint with the FTC.

https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

These people need to be stopped. If you get a letter from the "collections agency" "Bloom Rosen & Strauss"..it's fake. They are also at a UPS store. Google it they are ancient philosophers.

They will fight you tooth and nail on the phone, but in the end, the FTC will shut them down.

I did some research and found out the deal on Advantage Distribution Center. Basically they do not stock their own inventory and simply sell toner and copier supplies from other companies. You can return your scammed toner and/or supplies via FedEx to:

Royal Imaging International
RE: Advantage Dist. Ctr.
8936 Comanche Avenue
Chatsworth, CA 91311

Please make sure you indicate this shipment must be signed for when delivered by FedEx. If you need to provide the phone number for Royal Imaging, it is (877) 898-9845.

As an FYI, the following information was found when I Googled Advantage Distribution Center:

According to the BBB: Complaints allege company representatives mislead businesses in believing they are their current supplier, misrepresent product offers, ship unauthorized orders, or charge exorbitant fees for supplies. In a couple of instances, the company accepted the return of products and issued credits. All other complaints remain unanswered.

Company Rating F. Our opinion of what this rating means: We strongly question the company?s reliability for reasons such as that they have failed to respond to complaints, their advertising is grossly misleading, they are not in compliance with the law?s licensing or registration requirements, their complaints contain especially serious allegations, or the company?s industry is known for its fraudulent business practices.

Yikes!

Beware-this individual contact us with the name of a co-worker and identified himself as a Xerox employee.  Said the co-worker ordered the toner and that he was calling to confirm the model number of the printer.  I provided him with my contact info and 10 days later, I received a shipment of toner.  I reported to Xerox fraud number 1-800-338-2327.  They gave me a case number and contact info of how to send the toner back.

I received a call from these guys about a month ago.
I work in a very busy office, so I was in a hurry to get off the phone and didnt realize I was agreeing to anything.
All they asked for was my name and confirmed the address of my workplace.

Today, I was asked to approve the invoice for $600+!!!

I have advised the accounting department of this scam, and we will NOT be paying the invoice.

Arcana Business Solutions aka ABC uses a UPS Store (formerly a Mail Boxes Etc.) as their company headquarters and where they try and get unsuspecting victims to send payment for toner they never ordered which they charge at close to 1000% more than retail.

They use a toll free number as their office line but it is always answered by voicemail never a live person. That number is 877-682-1643

My boss has talked to a person by the name of Donna to get this issue resolved. The lady was very rude and inconsiderate. Our company paid for the first set of toner but it was priced at a ridiculious amount and they were told to take us off there list for any of their products but they still contuine to send toners. Our company will be contacting the BBB to get this issue resolved.

Direct Supply called and misrepresented itself to our secretary that they were our copier toner supplier. The invoice came today for $498.00 4 times the normal costs. However, we have a contract with our Sharp copier company that includes all supplies. Thanks to all of your information, we will be refusing delivery from UPS when the toner comes.

I too was scammed. Being fairly new on the job, I received the first  call in Aug 09 regarding the toner. The caller represented himself as my copier rep. When they called to confirm the order, I canceled. The "rep" called back to assure me he was our rep. I accepted the offer. We received the toner and of course an invoice for 601.05.I was appalled! The invoice was questioned, but paid.
This morning I received another call from Arcana. They informed me the second and third toner was being shipped. The offer was for each toner to be a special price of $529 ea if purchased in three. I told the caller off and she decided to have the "Customer Service" rep give me a call back. Not hear a peep yet. I hope they call back. I am livid that I was scammed.

Angie called 8/14/09 and spoke to one of our CSR's on the phone.

Same toner scam happened with one of our CSR's.
They called her and after getting her name said the order
we placed for toner would be shipped and billed to us and gave the
total amount.  We intercepted the package with UPS's help upon
delivery and refused it as not ordered. I hope this works out.
I plan on filing a complaint with BBB.

I am new at my job as well and proabably received this phone call over a month ago. I got the bill for a $619 toner cartridge! I call the number on the invoice and left a message. Bob Sanchez called me back and told me he would fax me a return label and instructions to UPS it back. He said that the fax would be to me in 24 hrs and did actually get my fax number. Nice on the phone but this is a scam so if anyone calls you about printer cartridges do not give any information and make sure you tell them that you are not interested. If you receive anything from an unknown sender return it immediately. I hope that he actually faxes me the UPS label but THIS IS A SCAM!!! Be careful.

They got me.  We have a maintenance contract with Xerox that includes toner supplies, but I'm new to the job (less than two months), and Arcana blatantly misrepresented themselves as our suppliers.  I feel like a rube, but they didn't provide conditions of the sale at the time of the call, and they also misrepresented themselves, so they haven't got a leg to stand on.

My first call was to Xerox, and they are aware of this issue.  I haven't finished my follow-up, yet, but Xerox Customer Service first referred me to Silent Witness:  1-800-338-2327.  I filed my report over the phone and faxed all paperwork from Arcana in my possession to them with the report number they provided.  I was then referred to phone another regional Xerox office, but it's after 6:00 PM here now, so I will have to see if they call me back tomorrow.  According to the representative at Silent Witness, Xerox will provide a letter that we can send back to Arcana with the toner cartridge (unopened and unused, thankfully) which is an effective "cease and desist".  We'll see.

The representative at Silent Witness also stated that if collections calls come, we can file a nuisance report with the police, and we can also specify the company as a nuisance with the phone company and block their calls.

We also received a call, they convinced a secretary that we ordered our toner cartridges from them.  They shipped the toner and then sent an invoice 30 days later for 601.00. ( usually costs us 129.00)..  Will not return any of our calls.  We're a fortune 500 company, we'll let them pusue this in court.
