Interesting that your organization has followed this thread for years and yet you still try to act like a legitimate company. I've been getting calls from this number for a few months now. They never leave a message and I don't pick up my cell when at work, which is always when they call. The issue I have with you, is I'm NOT delinquent. I had issues with the payment system that is used allowing me to get in, and by the time they finally fixed it I was considered a couple months behind, especially since there is only one available option to make payments that was of no use to me! I've been up to date by their system ever since (which is months), yet I still get calls and before long I'm certain you'll take money directly from my checking account to cover a phantom debt that isn't even owed.

You mention calling and people being rude, but when we have to deal with incompetence and outright fraud time and time again, don't expect to be treated like a long lost friend calling. And above all, don't act like your really trying to help people, when the entire collection system is nothing more then a scam.

You all are idiots. This is obviously a student loan collection agency. They are recovering tax payer dollars, that should be going to other students in need. How about you pay your loans and stop steeling from the needy student. If you're a parent, ex, or even know the person then do the right thing. Tell them to pay their debt and quit being a dead beat!!!!

my loans were in default first went through erc which i will never deal with them again then  now windham professionals and so far so good. i havent had any issues with my rehab process.  i called up the originator of my student loans in dept of education and the customer service there referred me that my loans were picked up by windham. windham is great just pay yar monthly bill on time for how long yar payments last for and you wont have any issues. also ask for them to give you a statement of receipt of  the loan being paid off. make sure you fully read the contract they ask you to sign and keep a copy. its a contract stating how much you are to pay per month. if they weren't legit remember you have the contract you signed. by law they are not allowed to take out anymore than what the deal is. also check with the bbb. every legit business would be under the bbb list.

These people constantly calls me at work.  because they seem official, i set up a payment plan with them.  However, i have yet too see my payments on my credit report.  When i called them to say i see the interest being added on but no deductions,  The person said well you would have the make 9 consecutive monthly payments before i can see the difference.  Is this acurate?

YES! Anyone that calls can get on the program....
It's not a ploy, its a fact. Ask yourself what you'd rather have...

1) To continue to run and hide until garnishment occurs (by that time its too late, and its pretty nasty to get it stopped).

or

2) Call us, get on a RHB program for a low monthly payment, and have the ENTIRE balance outta default in 9-10 months

You decide

We call the numbers the DEBTORS gave us.....and sometimes that info isn't all that accurate. If you politely advise us we have the wrong number, WE WILL document the acct accordingly and that will be that.

If you are RUDE to us, it makes us believe you're the debtor pretending to be someone else, or a relative thats hiding the debtor (yes that happens all the time)....we call them "Gate Keepers" and it will only motivate us to keep calling.

Me personally? I'll just run the phone number in the system and see who owns the phone line. If your name matches that of the debtor, we're gonna continue to call you until u place the debtor on the phone so we can help them.

Remember......sometimes info is old and out of date.......remember that before being rude. It will save you alot of grief

By hanging up on him, you did your daughter a dis-service....
Your daughter signed a promissory not for a federal student loan, and its currently in federal default. Running and hiding will not solve the problem, we'll just continue to call until she has the integrity to pick up the phone and allow us to work with her!

Sooner or later, the client will run her SSN, and discover her POE (place of employment) information, and submit garnishment paperwork. You think she's hurting financially now? Wait til she starts having 15%-25% of her wages  garnished per pay period and applied towards the balance! I see it happening to people every day, and they're all the same......they think we're bluffing, then their employed delivers AWG (Admin Wage Garnishment) paperwork and all of a sudden our phones light up and they're all of a sudden easy to talk to!

Now with that being said, lets talk about the BENEFITS of talking to us:

1. We can and will place her on a rehab program. Monthly payments are usually between $50-$100 a month. After 9-10 payments, her loan is 100% out of default. Certainly sounds better than having to come up with several thousand dollars up front right?

2. Benefits for the program are out of this world:
   A. Suspension of Wage Garnishment procedures, or stopping current ones.
   B. Suspension of Tax offset procedures.
   C. The complete removal of the default from her credit report. As in it will disappear as if the debt never existed in the first place!
   D. Restoration of Title IV funding benefits and Privileges
   E. Penalties & fees STOP from assessing on the loan!

Believe it or not, WE ARE THERE TO HELP YOU AND YOUR DAUGHTER! Do the right thing, ESPECIALLY AS A PARENT, and teach your child some integrity, and MAKE HER call us so we can help her! Avoiding the issue, hanging up on us, pretending you dont know her, etc all does her an extreme disservice, and will only cause her further grief in the end.

Thanks

What we see here is this thread is the typical debtor attitude....
Your gripe is as baseless as it is stupid, and some of the lame a** excuses being said here to justify not paying back the loan is laughable. I work for Windham, and im one of the company's top collectors, so allow me to educate you all on the FACTS:

1. They DO NOT need to take you to court to garnish you. These are FEDERAL student loans. Which means all we need to garnish you in your POE (which the client will tell us after running your Social Security Number) information. Once we have that, we'll deliver garnish paperwork to your employer, which they are bound by law to obey. It's called NPWW processing at this stage.

During this time, we (the collectors) will contact you AS A COURTESY to see if you wanna get on the Rehab program to avoid the garnishment.

2. YOU signed a promissory note in which you legally promised to pay back the loan. Now you for some reason are stupid enough to believe you can just ignore it and it'll go away. IT WONT! Federal student loans have no stat of limitations, and they are immune to bankruptcy proceedings. With this being said, yes we will pursue you til the day you die until you pay.

3. YOU WILL PAY THE LOAN.....make no mistake about it. You will either pay voluntarily, or involuntarily. You WILL have your wages garnished, and you WILL have your taxes yanked from you until you see the light and either get on a RHB program, or pay the loan in full. Theres no escaping it.

4. We have the best skip tracers in the nation, we will find you. You can relocate to an island with an outhouse and a hammock. We'll still find you, send you someone with a sat phone and ask you how you wanna get on the RHB program.

5. Changing your numbers will not help. We'll just run your social, get your new number, and call you again.

6. Pretending you aren't the debtor wont help you either. We aren't stupid, and 9x out of 10.......we've done extensive research on you before we even placed the first call to you. You actually do yourself a disservice by doing this

The fact that you people play the victim is hilarious, when YOU are the cause of the entire problem. Its exactly like stealing because you take the money from tax payers and others that are worthy and you have no intentions of paying it back. Thats theft ladies and gents.

You can quote all the laws you want. We know the laws better than you. Wanna know why? Because WE KNOW theres dead beat a** debtors like some of you looking to exploit loopholes in the law so you can squirm your way out of a debt that YOU YOURSELF created.

Now lets talk about the BENEFITS of you actually talking to us:

1. WE ARE HERE TO HELP YOU: Thats right, we exist TO HELP YOU. Sure we're a collection agency, but unlike any collection agency, we can assist you in getting your loans out of default in the most painless and inexpensive ways as possible. Every debtor that speaks to me, is ALWAYS glad they did so cuz I relieve their stress in one simple call!

2. The RHB program.....ASK FOR IT: The Rehab program is designed to get a loan out of default completely within 9-10 months! Ask yourself whats more painless.......having a large defaulted balance on your credit report, possibly getting garnished/taxes offset, collectors calling OR having your entire defaulted balance out of default with 9 months for less than 1% of your balance?

3. Benefits of the RHB program
A, Removes garnishment actions against you or stops current ones
  B. Removes tax offset actions against you
  C. Removes the default from your credit report, as if the default never occurred.
  D. STOPS the negative fees from accruing on the loan while you are trying to handle it

By ignoring this, it does you a disservice, and it will only get worse for you. CALL US, and allow us to help you! I promise you, its less painful than you think, and you'll be 100% glad you did so

Sincerely

I got this number as a refernce from my student loan guarantor. I hadn't received any notices from this company, but they did contact and old friend of mine who had to search for me to give me the message. After verifying that this is the company my guarantor had sent my loan information to, I set up arrangements. They area loan rehabilitation program, specializing in helping borrowers get out of default. No, I do not work for them and actually got their corporate number from another posting about this number. If you are receiving calls from this company and do not owe any students loans, simply have them remove your number. Hope this helps.

Someone claiming to be "James Anderson of Windham Associates" at 877-682-4843 x 7279 called and left a voicemail at our lawfirm, today, asking us to call so he could reference a reference for job history for one of our attorneys. Trouble is, the name of the supposed employee is unknown to us (we only have 3 attorneys), and has *never* been one of our employees.  We didn't return the call.

Thank you very much for the information.  These folks called a friend of mine from WAAAYYYY back to harass HER over a student loan that my current husband took out and defaulted on more than 20 years ago.....which was 10 years before we even met!  They told her they were calling from the Department of Education (which they also tried to tell me at first when I called them back on behalf of my husband).  I have dealt with people like this before and I work in the legal field so knew that what they were doing was illegal.  It rattled "Will" enough that he tripped over his own lie and then proceeded to threaten me and my family if I did not cooperate by giving him my husband's birthdate and SSN!  Yeah.  Sorry folks.  Anyone who thinks ANY legitimate company would do that either works for the company or has their head in the sand.

Before you go telling someone in the legal field what is or is not correct, do your homework "educator". The post above is absolutely correct. Even the Federal Government has to give notice and get permission to dip into a private person's accounts.

These guys called me 3 times stating they were just checking a reference put on a job application by my son.  I had to ask the name of the company 3 times and 3 times they ran through it so fast and sloppily I still had no idea who they were. Now, my son, lives in California and I live in Colorado and we haven't spoken in decades.  When I called them back I heard a very loud and unprofessional disturbance in the background, was shuffled off to another line and then the phone went dead.  They called again several days later but I am not talking to them.  Bunch of a** munchers.

I reported them/Windham Professionals to the Consumer Protection Division of the state of Maryland.
They called out of the blue and harrassed me at work Student loans that are in my name and those of my children are paid and up to date.  They are fishing.  This is a scam - -they claimed to be collecting for the originator of the loan and what they are really doing is trying to skim.  I refused to give any information --even politely said I couldn't discuss this at work - -and was immediately threatened with garnishment of my wages.  I advised to call me at home - -which she did.  My husband had already called our loan originator who determined that it was a scam phone call - -we gave them (the originator) the information about the phone calls.  Windham called two other times until my husband advised that he was turning the matter over to the CPD for Maryland.  She told him that would do no good.  We did and haven't received a phone call since.  Imagine that!  Bliss!  Don't give out ANY information over the phone.  If you are truly caught up on student loans or have been working with your loan originator for repayment - -don't allow these people to harrass you, turn in a complaint.

These idiots are nothing but punks. Before they call someone they should double check to make sure they are calling the right person. This is what I do when idiots like these fools call me; I call them back and yell at them. When they hang up I call right back and yell at them. I repeat this until they beg me to leave me alone, promising they will remove my number from their computers and never bother me again. You see people, these idiots hate to be treated the way they treat those they're calling. I even had one threaten me, which I recorded.

These idiots are not just doing their job, they're intruding into our lives by abusive behavior, and my response is to be more abusive and more relentless. Show these demented idiots what harassment really is; call and harass them back, ten times over until they beg you to leave them alone. Don't let these punks get away with their nonsense.

If any of you owe money then deal with the loaner directly, don't pay these idiots, put them out of business.

I pray that you never find yourself in the situation where you need to decide to pay back a loan OR feed/house your child.  I never wanted to default, but I had no choice.  My husband was killed by a drunk driver. I did not plan on this.   I have a job, but you know what?  I make so little that there is no disposable income so my wages cannot be garished.
But how many doctors are defaulting on their loans, or getting continual garnishments, while driving expensive cars and living in huge houses?  Maybe your anger should be at them instead of the hard working people like me.
