In our case, they (Assett Collection) were contacting the wrong person or were phishing for personal information.  They alleged a debt from citibank in the same person's name but they provided the wrong social security number. When they followed up with a letter, they noted the same name and typed in our address as the contact address for Citibank which just wasn't true as we've never had a Citi Account. After verifiying with the credit agencies that no such account existed under my social security number (to make sure it wasn;t identity theft), I called and told them to stop calling and sending letters as they had the wrong person. And that they should confirm with Citibank. They had the gall to ask for my social security#, which I refused. I wonder whether they are a legit agency or totally scamming people with fear of large account balances and all they have is a name. I am going to look into this more because I'm vry suspicious. Didn't help either that the letter had a woman's name on it as their contact and provided an extension that then went to a man with a strong foreign accent. They said they would remove our number but we'll see.

Got a call from this number. No voice message left.

The reps from this company have been calling every day more than one time to my home.  I called this morning and they want me to provide them with my information.  When I said, if you called me it is because you already have my information.  If you want to collect a debt (which I dont have or at least I dont recall having anything the past 5 years) you need to send everything in writing.  If you are calling from a colect agency, you suppose to have my information so until then, please stop calling my house because you wont get any response until I have a letter from your company.  So .... the person who "helped" me said that they cannot do that......Can you belive it??!!!!
Please don't call them back if you receive a call from this number.  In my opinion (maybe I could be wrong) if they want to collect money we own them, then send us a letter with all the information first then we can call and make arragements.  These kind of people make me upset.
By the way, this company is in Michigan.

I get calls from this number (Donald Wilson) several times a day.  They ask for "Junior Bubbles".   Needless to say, there is no such person here.  I got tired of it and called the contact number.  They said they removed my number.  We'll see.

yep  i got this twice now    ist time couple of weeks ago

wants to identify "my name"  at this number thru  "press 1"  etc procedures.

It is a name I don't use for finances.  Also my finances are tight and I can't

imagine what it could be.  I say investigate and DO NOT EXPOSE YOURSELF!
