Not much on this company.  If it's the same one that's been calling.

I received a call from 877-526-3182. Message left from "Jasmine Naz" from Markowitz Klein & Associates.  Stating they was calling about an affidavit #DC12762.  Last time I checked, if I was summoned to court, I would be served a summons or mailed the documentation in reference to a court date/reason.  When I returned the call, it was a voice mailed asking to key in the affidavit number.  This is not how the United States court systems work.  This company has also called my HR department on my job.  Please do not give in to this scare tactic.  This is not legal.

I did not receive a call from this number, but it is the number attached to a charge on my Mastercard statement.
I mistook a scam for the real thing when I ordered a 3 year subscription to Internet Security 2013 software online.  I followed the directions for downloading the software and it at first appeared to have been downloaded to my computer.  However, I became concerned a couple of days ago that the software did not appear to be functioning and could not find it on my computer anymore.  I did a search for Internet Security 2013 and discovered it is "a fake antivirus program that belongs to the same family of rogues as Internet Security".  When I called my credit card issuer, I was told that there was a phone number associated with the charge:
877-702-2276, the number for a company called B & B.  The billing dispute agent tried calling the number, but there was no answer.  I did a search for the number and found your website.

Yes I am sure they are. You should call them and see what's it about. Most likely it will about a payday loan you did not take out or paid off. They will try to get you to pay over the phone or threaten you with a court and a sheriff escorting court paper. With my case, I told them "lets go to litigation"  I have not heard from them since or been served. That was four weeks ago. Read what alphalfa (sp?) wrote to you as well.

I am working with a debt company who called this person only to receive a tecorded message from a company called Ressner, Klein & Associates whomever they are. No one pivled up the phone or has called back. I have been advised to send a certified letter to cease from calling my Job which is against the LAW!!! They can be sued for doing so.

Here is how to determine whether or not they are legit:

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

How are you sure they are a scam??  I was just curious because I too have been getting calls from them several times a day for a few weeks.  They have called my ex sister-in-law several times as well.  They give a claim number and state they are going to serve papers with a sheriff escort at my place of employment.  The number they call from though is 877-356-6559 but when I call it says Resner Kline & Associates.  Never can get a live person to talk to.  Any and all information will be greatly appreciated!!

Debt Collector
I don't know who these people are but they called my cell phone, my work, and mother-in-laws house looking for stating that they have a claim against me and that I have been officially notified.  I think some of these scammers or unofficial debt collectors think that we are stupid America.  They think that we don't know our legal rights or how official legal processes and protocols are done. Ha.  They didn't know they were calling a former paralegal and that nobody has been imprisoned for debt since the civil war.  Do your homework.  If they are indeed debt collectors and not scam artists, believe me they don't need to use these worthless tactics to get there money.  Most people want to pay there debt back and just can't.  Well thats my rant for the evening.
