Asked for my boss.... about an electrical changeover..... fishy... Lee Grant @United Distributing.

These guys called yesterday and today and I think have called in the past.  Same type scams as described above.  Trying to get to maintenance manager.

You must either be him or a friend. All he is talking is BS to some lady. He is a hibitualy liar. He is now speaking about the bible, what a piece of work

No-one in the US says "pub" or "scum bag". I call BS.

Caller does the usual "lost the name and info...lousy assistant...need to talk to the shop/maintenance supervisor about an order they placed...don't know what the product is...need to get number...gonna send $1200 worth of product...don't know what it is but I'm gonna send it and a $1500 invoice...I'm not a salesman, I'm a manager...I don't want to speak with Purchasing it MUST be the maintenance shop supervisor whose name I don't know..."

Around and around. Like I don't know a scam when I hear one.

Same stuff just from SUE.  25 bulbs cost $495. how do we retailate? any ideas????

Terny from United called to say she needed to speak to the person in charge of maint. She said that United handles the lighting for our building (but they do not). She said she needs a part number and she needs it right now because her supervisor is waiting on it at the warehouse. They also wanted cell phone numbers. She couldnt answer any of my questions so I knew it was a scam. So not get anything from these people!!! Beware!!!

We've been getting calls from someone named Keith from this number asking to speak to the maintenance department but we don't have one.
Last week someone named Bill called from this number pretending he was working with our maintenance guy and needed his cell phone number to find out where they were meeting.
I told Bill I would not give any numbers out and to put us on his DO NOT CALL list and I hung up.
He called back 7 times in a row after that. I repeatedly hung up on him but he just kept calling. I was literally so scared because he was acting like a psycho. He kept saying "Now if you hang up again, I'm just going to call back."
The people calling from his company need to burn in hell.

Cory called today acting like we're old friends & have been doing business forever.  I took a message & told him I'd have someone call him back.  Cory was very reluctant to give me the name of his company also.  No wonder!

same old here.  i advise that you make ANYONE who may answer your phone aware of this situation immediately.  they are sneaky.  told them if they send anything its not being paid for.  they apologized and agreed to stop contacting us.

I got a call from "Randi" at "UDI" this morning.  She wanted to talk to our maintenance supervisor (who we do not have) but just couldn't remember his name.  I took a message and she gave me the number 877-712-2140 and said to have someone call her back right away about the "electrical specs."  Yeah, I'll be sure to pass along the message...  I've dealt with these kinds of people before.

Caller leaves a message that says, "Hi Ed, I need you to please give Pat a call at 877-712-2140."  Using a very urgent voice as if it is an emergency.  What a bunch of scammers!

Received a call today from James Davis with Regency Technologies and asked for our manager by name.  Said he had called his boss the other day to order a ballast but did not give him the model number.  James' boss asked him to call my manager back to get the model number.  Since we do have several construction jobs going on, I thought it may be related to the jobs so I got his number and checked.  My manager said he had not called anyone about a ballast but one of the electricians may have.  I called him back to tell him we had not called and they answered the phone "United Distributors".  I asked for James Davis and was put through to him.  When I questioned the way they answered he said it was their sister company.  I told him that our manager did not call and was surprised that he did not pursure further!  We have had calls from them before that were not so pleasant!

Lets all call that number back and demand our free gift and there so called catilog...  SCAM SSSSSSSSSSCCCCCCCCCCC AAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This company is a scam to get you to give them all your information even personnel adresses and cell phone numbers. They ask for maintenance personel then dont give you a chance to talk by asking all the questions. Then at the end without you realizing if you dont catch them they will send you a case of bulbs that you dont really need and expect to get paid for them.  They also offer you a gift and are willing to send it to your home adress.  The company is a "Cold Call" operation that gets sales by way of minipulating the phone conversation.  BEWARE........   District Mgr. Name is Phil Davis hes the one I talked to

"Skip Davis" from "United Distributors" called us yesterday asking specifically for me but I was out sick. Asked for my cell number and home address but luckily I work with some smart people who refused to give out my personal info. Told my supervisor they would send a magazine to us. Hopefully we don't recieve anything.

I got a call from this number by a secretary who said her 'boss' Gene Davis needed to get in touch with our maintenance supervisor regarding an electrical project. When I tried to probe and ask further questions she said she did not have any detailed information but that it was very urgent for our maintence guy to call her boss Gene Davis back. She told me she was from United Incorperated and would not give me her name. Just her 'bosses' name only.I do not just randomly pass along phone numbers for people to call back. I called the number back myself and just got a recording that said... 'Thank you for calling United Distributors. Youve reached our after hours number. Please leave a detailed message with your invoice number, name and phone number and we'll return your call the next business day.

Walter Davis and Craig from United Distributing called my place of employer (two seperate phone calls) to confirm an order for the purchase of 30 screw in lightbulbs that was placed by my company.  They represented the order as if it had been placed by someone in my company and then wanted my home address in order to send me a Walmart gift card to show their appreciation.  I verified that my employer did not place an order with United Distributing.   I felt uneasy and suspicious that they were asking for my home address, being pushy wanting my home address.  The entire representation was not true!

Received a call asking for owner of company and that (I) Jamie was suppose to call him back regarding "Electrical Specs" that he had requested, she requested his cell phone number because she had missed placed it......  I told her sorry we do not give out cell numbers and I would be happy to have him call you back she asked him to call her direct office number 877-712-2140 and her company name was United Inc.  

Can you say SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same deal as above. This time from a Scott Reynolds. Wanted to send us light bulbs. Sounded like a scam.

Someone named Javair called my work number and said I told him he could. He wanted to know how to call me direct. I dont know this person. He gave the number 877-211-2529 to office lady and when I call it all it says is leave a message and then the mail box is full.

Same MO as noted above.  I took a page out of someone's book on here and keep a list of these numbers who have real people at the other end (vs. robo calls) and when I see it come up, I pick it up and say either "Police Department, how may I route your call?" or "This call is being recorded, how may I help you?"  I either get dead silence, a stammer, or a hang up.  It brings me great joy!

Rcvd two messaged from this number. First, yesterday, was from "Bill Wright" who said he "needed" our maintenance supervisor to return his call.  Then I arrived at my office this morning to find a voice mail message marked urgent. He asked me to call him back.

I called him. As reported by others, this is supposedly an electrical supply company. I told him never to call me again.

Total scam. They are not really very good at it because it was pretty obvious after they said Hello that they were low life ignorant scum. I recommend you put them on Hold next time because their only real overhead is telephone time and the weed they smoke while scanning the phone book.

Just got a phone call from this 877-712-2140 Kyle.. do not call them back it's a scam.. just hang up

In regards to the message that I just posted about United Lighting also United Distributors also known as United, when they call your company they will act like they just did something recently at your business and say a specific job that they had just done and that they need to speak to your maintenance guy "what is his name again" don't fall for it!  Take their name and number.  WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE SCAMMERS  They will stop calling for months and then try again.  Don't fall for it!

If you get a call from 877-712-2140, it is from United Lighting, but they will say United Distributors or just United.  They say they need to talk to the maintenance guy "what's his name again".  DO NOT give a name or number.  They will automatically send very expensive bulbs and say you ordered them.  I always mess with them and give a fake maintenance guy name and always say that I will have him return his call.  The guy that calls our company is Roger and sometimes they will have a girl call.  WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got a call from a Gene Thompson... Same story as the rest of these. I made the mistake of giving him my home address. Offered a free gift card and knife along with new catalog.Then he tried to pull a fast one on me by saying the light bulbs would be delivered on monday. I said what light bulbs.. We don't need anything then he said ok bla bla bla.. Told a joke then said he would have our purchase delivered tomorrow. I said we didn't buy anything and hung up..Worried they have my home address now.
