Some guy called for an employee's supervisor mumbo jumbo about document
protocol I said "Huh? Oh you want to serve process on them". Took him
down a peg or two.  I conferred with our HR dept there's no such person
employed with us.  He proceeded to ask if they had been to which I
replied as a debt collector they may not ask a third party about a
debtor and he told me the person was in a lot more trouble than a bad
debt and I told him he had no right to divulge that info to me as a
third party and I couldn't give him any info and he slammed the receiver
down.

Same thing happened to me.....someone calling himself Les Walters called my office wanting to know our company's procedure for serving papers to an employee.  I had answered the phone and asked who it was about, and he gave my name.  Said he was a private locator and would give me 30 minutes to call and get a "release number" so he wouldn't come and serve me documents, which when I asked what documents they were, he said the envelope was sealed and he didn't know.  Called the number he gave me and it was Nationwide Litigation.  Spoke with a very flippant girl who said, "Yeah, you're going to court".  She did have all of the personal information that American Web Loan had when I took out a payday loan about a year ago.  I told her I was at work and couldn't take personal calls and she said that wasn't her problem and that she could break down what they said I owed into a couple of payments.  I gave her an old debit card number and then went home and researched the company.  Made a call to AWL (original creditor), who said my loan had been sold to United Debt Holdings.  Found a number for them and they said they sold it to a company called American.  Called American, who said that they had sold it to Nationwide.  The guy I spoke to was very nice and said that he knows they are very unprofessional debt collectors, but that they sold them about 1,000 accounts, including mine.  Nationwide says they are a "paperless company" and because they are a pre-litigation company and not a collection agency, that the FDCPA doesn't apply to them.  This is bogus.  They bought the outstanding debt for pennies and are trying to use scare tactics to collect.  I would be happy to actually settle the account with a reputable firm who would take reasonable payments, but not these people.

SCAM. Says they are collecting a debt for Payday one, Pay day one does not know them.  When requested they send proof via writing they have the debt, they cannot.  I got DOZENS of calls from "Jessica" from 209-624-1102,  She calls blowing up my phone at 6AM, 10 TIMES, called my ex's family in another state, who I've never even MET. Calls my employer, is rude and tells them of my debt, says "Things are going to get Messy if she has to come down to my job and serve me paperwork"  I filed a claim with the FTC and spoke to a lawyer who confirmed, this company is not a debt collector, it's a scam and you need to file a claim with the department of justice.  DO NOT pay these people, but get ready for some really nasty scare tatics.

Lol.  Love it.  They pissed me off so much I actually invested in 3 pet paid cell phones.  I call them at least 10 times a day harrassing them.  Sometimes you have to play their game.  Love it.  Revenge is mine!!!

I recieved a call from Lynn Brian from a private number stating that I have a charge against me but when I asked what is the charge she said dont have that information.  Wanted to verify my address so she can swing by a bring me the paperwork.  She also called my niece husband how she got that number I dont know because I dont even know it.

I also rec'd a call from 877-716-0023 stating that they are trying to get a hold of Brandi place of employment, and home address. A claim was filed this morning for charges, Claim # 282290 by Claire Gibson. I also felt violated by this individual as she was rude, ignorant of her facts, and to leave such a message that Brandi was official notified of these charges.

Received a phone call from a Jesseica Bradley from the NDR Group (NO SUCH COMPANY) regarding a legal matter.
I was told to call back the number at 888-264-3362 but on my voice mail it came up as 877-514-5597.

VERY INTERESTING:
Yesterday I got another call from Invesigator Bradley Davis (YEAH RIGHT) and the number was spoofed as a Brooklyn NY number 718-802-3543.
Which is the NY house of Detention. What a joke!!!!

They keep changing up there phone numbers and try to scare you into paying with either a debit/prepaid card or from your checking account.

Anyway DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION. The voice that called yesterday sounds like Timonthy Orhman from the old Brooshire Management Group

Recieved a call from 877-716-0023  stating they are trying to contact my daughter Joyce Robinson and she has been offically served (Joke).  My daughters name is Joy... told them daughter doesn't live with me callers name was Claire Gibson, said someone would be coming to my home...I told her to send them. If this was offical they would know my daughters address and phone # I requested that they stop calling my home; call was made from a local # 410-650-4139.  877 was call back #  Daughter is not in state of Maryland.  I really felt I was been violated by this individual she was rude, nasty and ignorant. When I tried to call locate number states investigation # cannot take anymore messages an error has occured

same here, and every year after I have someone saying that I still owe.  Normally, I ask for a fax number or address and I get one.  But they refuse to give me one!  And talk about rude!!!!

Same as the others.  The harasser also called my ex-husband!  Very concerned about who else she may have called...  How do they get away with this?

I guess they called my employer today also and left the same message they left me.  WTH....so everyone from work was calling me concerned that I was about to be arrested.  Omg these people are just rotten.

I took out a loan from Money & More in June 2008. I repaid the loan two weeks later. In 2010, I received a letter from LRC, LLC (Lighthouse Recovery). I sent the company proof I repaid the loan. I received a call from a Steve Smith last week from Nationwide. I called and spoke with a Ms. Walters today. She refused to give me any information about this other than to offer a settlement. She even refused to give me an account number for this debt! She refused to give me a fax number or an address where I can mail proof. All she said I can do is to face charges in court and provide proof to the court I paid the debt.

I received a called from (210) 556-1736 stating that i must call the 1877-716-0023 because someone pressed charges against me and that was urgent!... when called that number what seems suspicius, the Rep. in loud voice told me it was not a game when he was asking me for my information "in order to provide" the details of the case... and I refused it and hung up... stop this malicius persons from trying to scare and get your identity info.

I received a call from Mark Moreno from what seemed to be a local number.  I said hello and he went on to say that there was a claim against me and that he needed to verify my home and work address to that he cuold have me served with the paperwork.  He didn't even take a breath to ask if I was the person he was looking for.  I hung up on him and he called back, left a message on my voicemail and then contacted my work number and left the same exact message on my voicemail at work.  The number he left to call back was 877-716-0023.  I am not calling them back and will give him a piece of mind if he calls again!!!

their a total scam.  I just reported them to the FTC.  Do not give them any money.  They try and scare you and they won't even tell you where they are located.  The FTC advised me to ignore their calls and don't give them any information.  They will call your work, friends and family.  They are a total SCAM!!!!!!!!!

I too like everyone else who has posed have received this same exact call. I too believe that they dial in from a number which will appear local to your own. I received a phone call from the number (209) 624-1102 and the man on the message identified himself as Chris Jackson. He also stated that he was contacting me on behalf of a firm and presented a reference number stated that there were charges against me and a formal claim was going to be presented against me (that they had confirmed the address to serve said charges). I was informed to call the number 877-716-0023 to discuss the matter.

I ignore these calls and threats. If they really have a legal claim against me for something then they will utilize the courts and proper procedure, not some scare tactics. These people are ridiculous and they can do whatever they gotta do. I will be blocking this number from the ability to contact me any further and I will also be filing a complaint for harassment. They leave these detailed messages without even knowing if they have the correct phone number which could lead to potential libel and slander, as any collection activity is a matter which is governed and protected by privacy laws.

Left a msg saying he received a claim against me in his office this morning and he needed to confirm a work or home address to present a formal claim to me. He said he had charges against me and went on to say that I had one chance to resolve this if I called 877-718-0023. Then he went on to say I have been officially notified.  When I called the 877 number it is some company called Nationwide litigation.  I called from a payphone just to see.  When I googled Nationwide litigation a ton of spam warnings came up listing all there scare tactics etc. They must have just changed there phone number to the one above.   Oh and Mr.Fisher called one of my friends. Received a call today from "Lynn Brian" from phone number 316-712-5087, indicating that I had charges being filed against me from a company and I needed to contact them at 877-718-0023 to get all of the information. I have been down this road several times before with various different people and numbers. THIS IS A SCAM! If you have charges filed against you they will come by certified mail NOT by a random phone call!

This is a new number for that payday loan scam where they say illegal things to scare you into paying money you dont own
