A man named "Jason Kohl" called my friend at her work place and was extremely rude.  He said that he was looking for someone there and that he had called them every hour.

A rude caller, that is calling a business and is rude to the people that do not know him or the person he is trying to reach.

Unkind, and perhaps illegal.  There should be a law against it.

I have been getting calls from 877-719-7015 for months.  Sometimes it is a person, sometimes a recording.  They ask for a person who is not at my number.  The male is extremely intimidating and once when I answered he asked for my Social Security number.  SCAM SCAM SCAM.  The female tells me to call back so they can help me...help me what????  I also sometimes get a call that from the same voices and the caller ID number shows   "O".

Some Jason Dude from Collectcorp calls me to collect on a credit card I chose not to pay. It's America and since it's unsecured debt..I have chosen not to pay. Banks choose to manipulate rates by changing due dates.so this is payback. Jason can call my family..friends.and neighbors..but he'll never make a cent.I just laugh when he calls me or someone else tells me he called them. No commish for that sucka!  But I do have his name and address..I hope he sleeps well at night.. Now excuse me..I have to go buy a new TV and have a nice steak dinner on my other credit card I might stick up the banks a** and then have Jason chase me around like the little girl he is.. trying to make his little commish..get back to your office chair Jason..playing switch with a thumb in your a** and one in your mouth..haha.

It is obvious that the company even monitors websites like this. Some of these comments could only come an employee of this company.  These people are unbelievable horrible. No wonder they want to remain unknown.  Contact that phone # & no one will state the name of the company.  Totally unreasonable & unprofessional.  Most of us would pay are bills if we could.  Student loan dept spiral out of control if there is no job right away. The Department of Education should handle this internally instead of compounding interest that can never be paid & be hounded to death by these people. What is the suicide rate on this I wonder?

Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act promotes the fair treatment of consumers by prohibiting debt collectors from using unfair, deceptive, or abusive practices.

This act applies to professional debt collectors who collect on loans they did not originate. Though it technically does not apply to banks, department stores, and other lenders who collect their own debts, no reputable lender is permitted to use such practices.

Debt collectors are permitted to contact people other than the debtor only to locate the debtor or make a reasonable effort to communicate with the debtor about the debt.

After making contact, debt collectors are required to send written notice informing the debtor of the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor, and the fact that the debt will be considered valid unless disputed within 30 days.

Debt collectors are prohibited from harassing, oppressing, or being abusive in collecting a debt. This includes using threats or obscene language, publicizing the debt, making annoying or anonymous telephone calls, and misrepresenting the identity of the collector, the status of the debt, and the consequences if it is not paid.

If debt collectors violate the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, consumers can sue for actual and punitive damages

I have been receiving calls a Breanna Haprer.  She leaves her name, and this phone and sometimes a 602-424-6556 and a case number.  After doing some research, she is calling about a student loan I had 29 years ago.  I had a small balance left on it.  A few years ago, I filed bankruptcy and put this debt on it and my bankruptcy has been discharged.  I have my final decree and discharge of debitors.  Now she is calling my employer to garnish my wages.  I have shown  my bankruptcy papers to the payroll department.  They are calling me 5 and 6 times a day and are being very rude.  I know that this is not legal.  Can I file harassament charges against these people.

I'm not sure who this is, they were calling me too at my workplace. I finally looked it up online & faxed them a letter telling them that they do not need to contact me at my place of employment anymore. If they needed me, the would have to contact me at my email address on file- I figure everyone I really have anything to do with has my email address, therefore if its legit, they'll contact me there.
Hmmm...I have yet to receive an email from them, which leads me to believe its a scam. The name "Jason Kohl" referenced in the first posting on this page sounds familiar...I think this is the one that was calling me. He IS very hateful and needs to learn how to have a conversation without threatening people.
I do understand that collections people are "attempting to collect a debt, and any information obtained.....blah, blah, blah" HOWEVER, there is no need to be ugly and to threaten people in order to do that.

Whatever happened to the days of graduating from college and getting a GOOD paying job!? Screw the US Dept of Education, they just want everybody to be slaves to debt. They can't get any money from us as we are struggling post-education and everything like rent, gas and food keeps going UP! Hmm let me think, I'll pay my college loan bill before I pay my rent, that makes alot of sense.

We receive numerous calls per week from this number and it's always a recorded message....several per day and at all different times.  I tried to phone them today to find out what company they were and why they continue to call me and all he gave me was his name and wanted to know my phone number and then he would help me.  I told him you should already have it because you call enough..he didn't like that answer and said that if I didn't give him the number he couldn't help me.  If numbers like these are suppose to be blocked and you register various numbers on the DO NOT CALL list, how is it that these people/companies/recordings get thru and how are they making any money?  These people/companies are nothing but RUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a message from this number and returned the call to a person named Christopher.  He said he was calling about my husband being default on a student loan.  I explained that it had to be a mistake because my husband went through college on the Marine Corp's dime.  He asked for more info on my husband...specific info so that he could investigate the issue more.  I told him I wasn't comfortable providing that info being that I wasn't sure the call was valid.  He accepted the limited and vague info I gave him, looked into the issue and apologized twice for calling us by mistake.  He was very professional and polite.  I'm sorry some of you had a bad experience...maybe try asking for the Christopher person.
