Same thing here, same number, same message, and I have excellent credit and pay off my balances every month.  It PO's me that they called and left this message on my company issued cell phone-something should be done to stop these practices.

Same story here. You all need to report this today because according to a Google search of Consumer Debt Helpline they change their number frequently. To report this behavior call the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at 1-877-382-4357. You should also look up your state's Attorney General's number and report it there. The Consumer Fraud number for the Attorney General of Illinois is (800) 386-5438. There is also a form you can fill out online, print, and mail in at http://www.illinoisattorneygeneral.gov/consumers/conscomp.pdf

Please get in the habit of looking these numbers up before you call. For all you know I could be giving you the wrong number and pretending I am the FTC or the Attorney General's office. Why do I care and why should you? When consumers and companies are scammed we each pay for it with higher maintenance fees on our accounts. I can't afford to have 1,000s of people to get dupped over and over again especially since some of them likely have accounts with my lenders. The rude guy above who "works at a bank" should know this and should have told you guys where to report this.

I called them back to ask them questions in order to have more info to report to authorities. They said they were located "nationwide" and when I asked for the headquarters address "Susan" also said "nationwide." When I clarified that I wanted the office headquarters address she rudely replied, "Why do you need to know that?" to which I responded that I wanted to know more about them to determine if I wanted to use their services. She said, "So you want to know all of our information but you won't even tell me whether you even have a creditcard?" 2nd time I called a different woman said they work w/ several non-profits to pay my debts. That I would give them ("Consumer Debt Helpline") all of my monthly payments and they would pay my cards for me. She said I would still get monthly card bills in the mail but the payment due would say $0.00 because they ("Consumer Debt Helpline") were taking care of my payments.

Recieved a call from "Ashley" telling me to hurry and return her call to consolidate my credit card debt before this 'terrific' offer is gone!! And I even had until 10PM to call her back!! BULLSH-T!! Beware!! Don't get conned by these PATHETIC LOSERS who think they can sitaroun on their lazy fat butts and take other peoples HARD-EARNED money!! Well listen up Dumb a***s, any money you might be able to SWINDLE could never compare to the price YOU'LL PAY when you get caught!!!!!! And trust me, my friend, YOU WILL GET CAUGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully sooner rather than later. Get up off your lazy butts and get an HONEST job.

I just received a call from these people. The phone said it is from caribou, maine. I think that I am going to call them back to screw with them a bit.

I just got a call from this number, seemed to be a cut off recording in progress, some chick wanting my account balances and statements to call her back at this number, I got no name of the caller or the company which is why I looked it up, and VIOLA, scam, as I suspected, but I had to be sure.

Front of the message was cut off and just said to call back by 10pm. Glad this was here to confirm I am not the only one.

Does anyone actually call these people back and give personal information?  Yikes.

recieved this call at 9:00 am on Monday July 25th. Call comes in and not company name just that Im approved and can consolidate my debt but need my balances. This is a scam DO NOT GIVE THEM ANYTHING, ITS A SCAM.

Forgot to say the phone number the call came in on was 207-493-2654 from Maryland. We let it go to voicemail. There was no company name and we don't have any credit cards anyway. Total scam.

Calling me at work.  Left a message and did not identify themselves.  Called the number and received a recorded message that again did not identify a company or organization.  Rather suspect.

Just got it as well. Caller ID showed it as coming from Montana - 406-224-9080 but the VM was the same. Female voice, beginning of message cut off, need to discuss balances, 877-723-1421, til 10pm.

I wonder if that's supposed to be 10pm "my time", 10pm "their time", or 10pm Montana time...

got a call from this number the other day. same deal as already reported. Beginning of message was cut off and she does not leave company info just to call her back at this number before 10pm. I did not answer the call either and it had went to voicemail. Out of curiosity tried calling voicemail after 10pm and it says no name for the business but a guys voice says they can be reached from 8 to 8.

Got a call from the same number at my work phone; they called after I'd left, so it went to voicemail. Deleted.

hello..the consumer protection act protects all card holders against any and all unauthorized charges so yep you guys are as dumb as a rock lol

It's a scam.  Encouraging credit card consolidation as a non-profit charity entity.  Likely a recorded message - woman said her name was Ashley Martin and to call back by 10pm and that I was preapproved.  They wanted me to have my credit card balances at hand to share with them.  Nice try.

They want all my credit card info...say they are going to consolidate debt....YEAH RIGHT!!!  Beware!
