This person (a young woman) called, leaving a message that this was my last courtesy call, and asked me to call back. So I did (on a line other than my cell phone). The call went straight through to hold (with NO mention of the company name). When someone finally did answer, there was still no mention of the company name. I asked why they called, then the woman hung up on me. No legit business neglects to state their company name as soon as they pick up the call.

this is a dummy list call. Fraudsters send out scam calls like this to tons of people and those who (1) answer or (2) call back get put on a "sucker list". Then that information is sold to other people who send out mass scam emails/calls/etc. They get those who get tricked because they think they are more likey to fall for new scams. Never answer numbers you dont know or call back financial people you are not 100 percent positive they are who they say they are. if it is that important, they (somebody you actually know) will leave a message. If you think it is a real financial person you deal with, get online and call their customer service.

Their company is based in the UK. Who knows what country they are calling from.

Scam credit repair company. I don't own anything in my credit card. The message they left me was "Hey guys, This is Anne Williams here. Hey, We spoke on the phone last week about possibly trying to lower your interest rates in reducing your monthly payments on your credit card, so wanted to let you know that I did find a solution. So we got our program I come over those interest rates as low as 1.5% and possibly put your monthly payment in half. And since you were only making the minimum payments is is a great opportunity for you. So this will be our last courtesy call, so please give me a call today at 1(877) 723-1423 Again, it's toll free in the number is 1(877) 723-1423."

I just got the same message on my work phone.

Just called the number back and the phone rep answered "consumer credit help line". My debt is all up to date and I do not make "minimum payments only" as the message on my cell phone stated. Hopefully this really is the "last courtesy call" like she said in the message.

They just left the same message here at my work and we are a LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY.

Consumer Debt Line- TERRIBLE customer service. They hang up on you when you ask to be remove from their call center. Do they ever sleep? They call at all hours. They got my work number and I have no idea how. They lie on their voicemails. They need to be canned indefinitely.

Just got a message to my work cell - has to be a scam; Originating number was 586 757 3934. No comapny name left...
stephanie 2010-09-24 17:27:33 Unknown
This is some type of scam. They said they were from the Consumer Debt Helpline and that they may have dailed the wrong number. They left multiple messages on my 12 year old daughters cell phone. She does not have a credit card. They stated that they have national headquarters but only two people were in the "office" at the time and they could not say where the headquarters was located. Hmmmmm.

my daughter got the same message on her cell phone....kinda hard for a 12 year old to have debt and make minimum payments. i called the number and it never states a company name. Like one other poster...I call BS too! I hate telemarketers like this.....grrrrr
Donna 2010-09-22 20:42:57 Unknown

Donna 2010-09-22 20:41:00 Unknown
877-723-1423 call this number back..i just got a call and called the number the call originated from and it did say disconnected, but the msg says to call the 877 number..im on the do not call registry not sure why im getting these scam calls
Ann 2010-09-21 15:05:58 Unknown
Utter bull.
Called ID no. showed up as 248 674 1702. As others said, when I called that back, the no. was "disconnected." But I got a voicemail saying (as with others) that a solution to my interest rate woes, per "our conversation last week" was found & I should call the 877 no.
The person at the 877 number claimed that it must have been a misdial when I complained. Refused to identify the company she worked for. Do not call them back. This is either a scam or just telemarketing to take advantage of people -- either way don't waste your time.

They left this message on my google voice number :
" Hey guys, This is Anne Williams here. Same as all of you. Ann Williams, Google Voice, 517.267.9005. the Google Voice voicemail she left only started like it was part way through but only played "877.723.1423". I'd like to know where she got her call list from (someone hacked Google Voice or figured out which prefixes belong to Google?).

I just had the same experience as Tired. It doesn't connect to anything I have going on in my life. I call BS.

I got the same call on my business cell but the ID showed 517-267-9005 but she stated to call 877-723-1423

I received a call like this today on my cell phone, but didn't answer since I didn't recognize the phone #. A lady left a voicemail about speaking to me last week, and responding with a courtesy call to make a last offer of reducing our debt to almost half and at only 1.5%, then left this toll free number. Needless to say, I did not respond but instead "googled" the number to research it. I plan to block it on my cell phone in case of any additional attempts to reach me. She did not identify the company, but she gave her name as Ann Williams.

I just got a message from the same number., It is a scam. I called the number back and it is supposedly disconnected,
Jason 2010-09-14 17:51:33 Unknown
Yes, I got a call from 810-767-4881 with the same message. It sounds like it was cut off in the beginning. The girl that left the message, which is word for word what people are saying previously, left the phone number of 1-877-723-1423. Same 1.5% interest rate program deal. Never called the number back and don't plan on it. Strange.
Beth 2010-09-14 16:41:01 Unknown
I just got a call with the same exact message to my work cell phone! Definitely feels like a scan brewing!
Reedman 2010-09-14 16:12:02 Unknown
I think that they must have some how got ahold of my google voice phone number. My work phone and my cell phone are both tied to that number so that when you dial the one number it rings on both of those phones. I answered my work phone and as I did that my cell started to ring. I called them back and asked wtf? The woman asked if I had any credit cards that I was trying to pay off. I said "Uhh no" and she asked what number they dialed. I gave the office phone number (maybe I shouldn't have) and she said "I'll take care of it" and hung up. I called back again and another woman answered and her response was that "Ann is dialing the wrong number" and that she'd let her know. I didn't provide a phone number this time...
Clearly this is some shady business...
Steph 2010-09-14 14:24:28 Unknown
I'm so glad this website exists. I figured it was a scam of some sort considering her message was half way over on my voicmail when it started recording.
Shawna 2010-09-13 20:57:13 Unknown
I am not making "minimum payments" on anything. I have no credit card debt, car loans, nor mortgage. You must have the wrong #. Do not call my cell phone again.
