Just wanted to inform anyone who was contacted by "Wyman and Foster Firm" I recieved  call from this bogus company stating that they are calling about a "packet" that was supposed to have been sent to either my home or place of employment and they said they needed to go over pg15 before some bogus "hearing" this so called packet was sent and they state that it was something that had to be signed for upon delivery. Well needless to say I have never recieved anything.  I noticed that in other posting on this website they were using an 877 number well be advised there is a new # they are calling from and that # is 855-215-4138.  Also the call was a prerecorded message and they never state who they are calling for.   They have also called my work with this message

I wish someone would post their call-back phone number so the rest of us can have some fun.

Give them this SS# -- 567-68-0515 (it belonged to Richard Nixon -- just Google it if you like).

Then tell them you're moving tomorrow; you don't have the address handy, but your new phone number is (give them your US Congressman's local office phone number).

Act like you're VERY interested in taking care of this matter right away, but your doorbell just rang. Set the phone down . . .

Called this morning, "Mike Bertoni" said the same thing about check fraud and "malicious" behavior or whatever. When I asked him what his physical address was he refused. He ratled off my old address. When I kept asking  questions and he wasnt in the mood to answer I guess LOL,  he said "I dont like your attitude" and made sure I heard him say the county I lived in to someone else in the room, and then he said "send a car" and hung up. when I called back a woman answered she had a strong NY accent, and I told her they were a scam and I would report them to the FTC  This unprofessional bi**h  refused to give me their physical address or a valid website. She said they sent my paperwork to my old address thirty days ago. Funny how everything else gets forwarded to my new address, but these papers are MIA. Scam people, scam.

Its a scam...don't worry about it.

I got a call but from 1-855-215-4138.  Saying I should have papers, but they are saying I owe money that I have paid money, but yet I dont get this. What is going on?!?

Same message as dvdtlr, called me at 7:00 pm and said he had a lot of hearings the rest of the day. After 7? Yeah right. Haha.

James Foster calling from Lyman and Foster...calling pertaining to a "packet" that should have been delivered to your residence and work about a case that has been filed in our offices last week pertaining to your name and Social security number....Needs to go over page 15 of that docket....To go over your hear dates and times for your hearing that is coming up RAPIDLY!

Guy called my phone today stating it had to do with my brother, giving away his information to somebody who is not him on a voicemail.  Very unprofessional. Debt collector threatening with case, b/c they don't do that. I've gotten the same phone call and they are phishing for things that either never happened or new business. If you're getting served, chances are, they will do it when you have no idea or less expect it. BS.

same ol stuff different day, just beware they use different numbers, and will try to scam as much as they can. I only write checks for bills only. Dont have any loans outstanding, nor check fraud, thru courthouses. Called my county courthouse, they said they would never call me, to issue or serve paperwork. Defeats the purpose of serving legal papers. And they said to record these people during the next conversation, and report it to the FTC. TOO MUCH TIME, to catch them. I work hard, and dont need to be bothered by them. If you have call rejection feature on your phone push *77 and it will reject callers that block their numbers. Or *60 to add them to your selective call rejection block list, thru your phone company . Hope this helps

i have been calls from 1877-726-3171 about check fraud and that they were serving me papers and coming to my house. i know i have done no such thing. they never said who and where from. stop calling me!

same thing just happened to me.  David Briggs from county Legal Services only number this time is 877-877-0326.  At least, I know something about my rights and that this is not the way legitimate legal actions are taken.  They clearly think they can scare people into paying something.

A case has been filed with Lyman & Foster that has your social security number associated with check fraud. It is imperative that you or your legal counsel contact us blah, blah, blah.

Got a call about someone who used to be at this number.  The message said they're from Wyman and Foster.  Said it was about an internet scam and made it sound like the world would end if I didn't call back right away.  Sounded hinky.  When I called, there was music and the recording didn't mention a company's name.  When the person answered, they also didn't mention the company name, so I asked.  When I asked what kind of work they did they said legal paperwork.  The told me who they were looking for, I said they hadn't been at this number for years and the guy laughed like, it figures, and that was that.  Definitely sounds like a debt thing.

Call back immediately, going to serve you with an arrest warrant, provide SSN, Name and Address.  

First of all, if someone is going to have you arrested they should already know your name, address and social security.  Shouldn't they need most of that info to get an arrest warrant or to serve you will any type of legal documents.

Second,  you never ever give your SSN to anyone on the phone.  If you do not initiate the a process that requires your SSN number, you never give it to anyone.

These people have their nerve.  Phone harassment is ILLEGAL everyone.  If you receive a call from these people report them to whomever will listen, your phone service provider, the local law.  Have their phone service revoked if possible or cause them issue no matter what!!!!!

I got the same call today.

I got a called today from 1-877-726-3171 and they were saying something about internet fraud.  That is a new one.

They left a message blocking out the name of their company in the voicemail and stated they were try to collect a debt on internet fraud. They didn't state their Name and sounded like a recording. I haven't done any internet fraud. 1. I don't own a computer 2. My phone doesn't have internet 3. I had my fried do this reverse look-up so much for the internet fraud, I DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO IT!

Called again today, recorded message. This time they said it was regarding internet fraud.  Same number, same people, different tune

They called with an automated message and sometimes with a live person.  They've called my office about 15 times as a debt collector or a county office; I've called the county they said they were from but no one at the real county office has heard of them or anything about my "case."

Call came in on my cell phone.  They stated they were from Lymon and Foster for a check fraud case attached to my social security number.  

The call almost sounded fake, like a computer generated call.

Yeah, I just got a call that matches the description of Punching Bag above.  I would love to give these guys a taste of their own medicine.

Same here, I never write checks and have been asking for the susposed paperwork for months. they once had me paged at work and I exercise my right by saying as a debt collector I do not authorize you calling me at work and will take action with the FTC.

Yes, someone called from this number stating they were Lyman and Foster.  I callled the number and the man said his name was Stan Lapevliak.  I asked what it was about and he said check fraud.  I told him I would refer his phone number to the MN US ATTORNEY OFFICE, DEPT OF COMMERCE AND FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION. I assured him an attorney would be contacting him just as he requested LOL what a scammer!  I never write bad checks and I owe no money!

left message saying they were a legal firm of whiman and foster. regarding a check fraud case.  since i have gotten several phone calls from several different numbers, as well as unknown numbers stating the are from this law  agency or investigator office and when you call they try to collect a debt that i never had. ask them for paper work, or tell them to go ahead and serve you. don't give address or phone number.. A real investigator already had your address DON'T GIVE THEM ANY INFO..  I have gotten so many of these phone calls  I have filed a report with FTC, Better business bureau and starting the process with my attorney general of my state and police department.. Unfortunately for me they have my cell #  I am about to change my number just to get the calls to stop.. Just tell them they have to do what they have to do and hang up  save all messages, also i am reporting it to my cell phone service.. they are not legal people

got several calls from this number regarding serving me and others for check fraud, when i returned a the call they said it was an outstanding debt from a pay day loan i never heard of. i realized it was a scam #1- if it was a debt i owed then why would others be involved for a check fraud? who would be in it with me if it was a debt i owed? #2 if they are coming after you for check fraud, ya the police don't call you to warn you they just showed up to ask you questions. Report these people. legal debt collection agencies are more then willing to send you written information regarding a debt and will give you the time to research, they can not by law threaten you, make harassing phone calls any questions look up FDCPA for your rights

I have received the same calls.  It is a scam and it is illegal.  I have recorded all of my conversations with them and plan to file a complaint with the state attorney general.  I would recommend that you record any phone calls and file complaints.  Let's shut them down!
