Received a call in Minnesota and caller left a messgage for this number. Claimed to be "representing the state of Indiana"

I just received the exactly same call and phone number/

My message was from "Shane Bond with the State of Kentucky"  -- Sounds fishy to me.  
Said to call back 877-411-3406

Kyle Browning "State offices of Mississippi" ...really wanted to leave a voice mail and was "not selling anything"...you can smell these guys a mile away. Wouldn't let them leave a message and will file the written one in the circular file. He even left the state website to try to make it sound more legitimate www.megamississippi.com   Call back was 877 658-0795

Recieved a call from someone going by the name of Mason Branch from Minnesota but his number was a Virginia number. Beware sounds like a big scammer.

I've gotten a couple calls from Duncan Manning from the State of Ohio who asks for me by name to call him back, but never says what it is about.  The callback number he gives is 800-240-3602.  But caller ID shows him coming from 804-422-0329.

Just reecived my second call from Charles Edmund from the State of Ohio. Left a voice mesage both times to call him back at 877-726-8703.

Call from Don Anderson with the "State of Kentucky".  Called regarding his visit to Dallas the first week of December.  Left message stating he had some questions for me and the company I work for.  Left a call back number of 877-411-3406.

Got a call today from a "Kevin Benson" with the State offices of Virginia in Martinsville.  He left a message and "had a couple of questions" for me.   Left a call back number of 804-422-0322.  These people are getting sneaky and pulling information from social media sites I bet....I just updated my profile on LinkedIn and I get a call from this guy...who knew my name and he was in the State and Local government....which is the industry I now work in....watch out for scams like these, especially if you post anything publicly.

Got a call to my mobile from 804-422-0329. A "Kurt Menard"  from State Offices of Ohio requesting I call this number 877-726-8703 to answer a few questions. I googled it and found this site referring to this number. Obviously some kind of phishing scam.

Phishy call. Caller claims to be calling for various state governments. Beware telemarketers claiming official titles or affiliation. If state agencies want info, they send certified letters.

Received a call from 877-658-0795 from a Roger Loff who said he was with the state of Mississippi and looking for businesses interested in expanding into Mississippi.

Received voicemail from Kevin Benton stating he was from the State Offices of Mississippi and had a few questions for me. His call back number was 877-658-0795. I wont be calling back after googling this and finding the above string of info.

A Lisa Cole called and left a message claiming to be from the State of Ohio. The call came from (804) 422- 0329.  The call back number left was (800) 240-3602.

Got a call from 877-658-0795 from Kevin Benton at the "State Offices of Mississippi" (whatever that means). He wanted to talk to the person attending our annual trade show. Wouldn't send us literature. Insisted on leaving a voice message. Not calling him back. Shady.

I just received a voicemail from this number asking for the president of my company and he asked for him by first name.  The man said he was calling from, "The state office over here in Kentucky."  I thought it sounded suspicious.

Called & said his name was Daniel Bosted from State of VA.  Caller ID was 804-422-0329 & his call back # that he left was 804-422-0321.

I have rec'd calls from these people before and they indicated they were from State of OK and State of NE.

Just got a call from this organization, asking for my boss by name.

Call display said 804-422-0329.

The man calling said his name was Daniel Bosted, and he was calling from the Mississippi State Office.  When I asked what they do, he said they are the Economic Development Authority for Mississippi.

When I told him my boss wasn't available, he left a callback number 877-658-0795.

Received a call as well from Patricia Stanley claiming to be from the State of Kentucky Department of Economic Development.  I called the 800# she left and it was to the Kentucky United Way.......

I called them back too, and told them to remove our number. So now they call twice daily and there is just silence on their end. Next step: getting authorities involved.

Caller claiming to be from the State Offices of Ohio.   Number showed up as 877-726-8705 on my phone but I was asked to call back to 1-800-240-3602 - same number as given Sheila (see previous post).

Caller claiming to be from the state of South Carolina Dept of Economic Development about our company's "domestic growth plan". Asked for the owner or CFO, neither of which were available. Thought it sounded suspicious and came here to check out the number. Interesting how many states they claim to be calling from/for. I called the number back and got only a voicemail service saying I had reached the "Economic Development Office"--very vague. I left a message to remove our company's number from their system. We'll see if it works.

Received a simliar message from Patricia Stanley claiming to be from the State of Ohio Department of Economic Development wanting to speak with the owner or CFO of the company.  Said that they could help improve out manufacturing and distribution of our "medical supplies."  When I told her that we do not manufacturing and distribute medical supplies proceeded to ask what we do manufacture and distributed.  I asked for her name and a return telephone call.  She gave me a return number of (800) 240-3602, but the caller ID was (877) 726-8705.  We will not be calling her back.

A man from this number said he was Christopher Wilk from the State of Missisippi Economic Development Group.  This is the number that was displayed on my screen, but when he asked me to have my boss call him back, he gave me 877-658-0795.  Seems suspicious.

Claimed to be from the state of Oklahoma - had an Australian accent.

Said they were calling for the State of Oklahoma and asked for the company president. Suspicious. Have received other calls from people claiming to be government representatives when in fact they were phishing. Low, low, low.

Said he was with the State of VA.  Sure sounded like a vendor to me....
