MMS from notice@vzwpix.com with call back number 866-375-6459 about failed credit card ending in 4339 - "CITY C.U. ALERT"
I called the number back using my GoogleVoice # and it asked "Please enter your 16-digit credit card number". I entered 1234567891234567...as soon as I did, the call we ended. I called back using the same GoogleVoice # and the outgoing message was garbled and all I could make out was "wrong number". I guess it tracks caller id as well...so after you enter a credit card number, there is supposedly "technical issues" with the call. bunch of punks! I was going to spam them entering 16 zero's, about 10000000 times ;D

I received a call today from a "notice@vzwpix.com" "Your CARD starting with 4339 was DISABLED*. Please ACTIVATE* at: 877-466-8505." I have not called the number. After reading some posts here I am certain its a electronic scam of some kind . The dead giveaway was the card number that I don't have. Be careful people, ID theft is everywhere. I had my SSN stole a couple years back.

Received a message today, Mon., July 5, 2010, 3:30pm, stating my card beginning with 4229 has been disabled. Please call 877-744-5325--TVA Credit Union is closed in observance of July 4th. This is a total scam trying to get your bank card number, pin, and any personal info...DO NOT respond.

I received the same text message, down to the same supposed account number. I've reported to Verizon. common sense says Verizon won't send a text message about a credit card!

I received the text from notice@vzwpix.com:
(ALERT) TVA CU- Your CARD _ starting with 4229 was DISABLED_. Please ACTIVATE_ at: 877-744-5325.
My family and I don't have any bank accounts that match up to this credit union. I'm also a student and my parents still have their names on my bank accounts and so I know I wouldn't be the one getting a text about this. It is a pure scam. I plan on not calling the number.

I received the same message as above-I also called Verizon and was told they would watch my account to make sure I do not get hit with any extra charges when my billing cycle ends. The rep I spoke with seems to think it is a 3rd party collection agency although my bill is not past due. It is due on the 8th.

I'm on the phone with Verizon regarding a text message I received from notice@vzwpix.com: (ALERT) TEXAS DPS CU - Your CARD_starting with 4070 was DISABLED_. Please ACTIVATE_at: 877-744-5325. I received the message on July 3 at 6:45PM.
The account number doesn't match any account information I have. I notice from a previous post that I am not the only one who received this scam message. I have not called that number, and I do not intend to do so. I was advised by Verizon not to return the call.
They asked me to do the following:
Please do phone 866-428-3975 hours: 7:00AM-4:00PM Central to report this scam to Verizon Wireless.

I received a text message on my cell phone that said:

I do not have an account at that credit union nor have I ever had any dealings with stuff at vzwpix.com. Though Verizon is my service provider and I have contacted Verizon's customer support.
This is either spam or fraud. Do not return this message or call this number.
