I also called an ad that was listed in our local newspaper, it was an 855 number. When I reached this number there was a long greeting message on the voicemail all about how this is hard work and the right person needs to be doing this work.... blah blah blah! Kinda felt a little fishy to me! The guy called me back under the name Kevin and his number was a 424 number gave me a bakersfield address and said send a money order for $199. I would be sent the software to get started and would be in tough with him. I was not asked about my credentials or anything and he was also quick to get off of the phone. Now I def. know this is a scam and knew that something wasn't right!! BEWARE!! Always research into these things... because I know my researched has verified what my "gut feeling" was telling me! I also think these people doing these scams need to be found and thrown in prison.

I AM SO MAD AT MYSELF, HAVING BEEN INVOLVED IN LEGITIMATE HOME BUSINESS BEFORE, AND AT MANAGERIAL LEVEL BESIDES.  JUST DIDN'T LISTEN TO THE WARNING IN MY HEAD.
NOT GIVING UP THOUGH, MASSACHUSETTS HAS STRONGEST ATTY GEN FRAUD SECTION IN US AND WHEN I CALL OUR FRIEND TOMORROW IT WILL BE BACKED WITH A WARNING THAT THE AG NOW HAS HIS SCAM PEGGED AND DOES GO AFTER MONEYS.

I too responded to the work at home ad that was listed in our local Newspaper. I almost sent the $199 money order but it just didn't settle well with me. He is going by the name Kevin Cole but an says once they receive the $order I will start working. It sounded soo good and I wish it was true as I will be starting school FT an needed a flexible job.....I hope they get stopped out of scamming people of their $! he also gave me the number below to call and claims he is the manager

I also responded to an ad in the paper, but not at this 5820 number. He didn't really ask me about my credentials or experience.However, he did ask for a money order for $199.00 and that it be sent to an address in Bakersfield, California with a confirmation number. I am a medical biller and please be wary of people saying that you can do this with tech support. It takes a medical background and a thorough understanding of the coding manuals.

I think he has changed his name again.  Now he is going by the name of Jack Wise, with the same address and telephone number.  I to sent him 199.00 dollars, received the cd with all kinds of forms and documents.  I was instructed to print the documents out and study them for two weeks before calling for further instructions.  There was suppose to be a confirmation # to give when you called, but I could not find one.  I am waiting for the two weeks to be up at the end of September.  Based on what everyone is saying I will not get a response back.  I checked the BBB's comments on him here in Ohio.  Their response was the business is not rated by BBB because he is not a member.  Also the business is not required by law to be a member.  They have requested a couple of times that he respond and he has not.  There is one registered complaint with BBB against Jack Wise here in Cleveland Ohio.  My phone number to call was 18773896538 and 3102052597, I also found the web site, it also has this name, address, and number posted for everyone to see but not an email address for contact.

He gave me the same address.  He also gave me the same phone number.  He did not call me by name either or ask about my credentials.  He did use the name Jack Davis too.  What a jerk.  It has been so hard to find work that I was excited to get his call...only to find out it was scam.

i had an experience just today,  but he number was 1877-234-6820 it was located in fort lauderdale, fl.. i left a message and received a call the next day Saturday. it was a privet number he called him self jack Davis. and he told me to call 310-250-2597 if i had further questions. he never stated my name but told me the companies name was HMO he gave me an address as 7850 white lane rd suite e # 301 Bakersfield ca 93309 when i looked it up it said it was a ups store?!! i was confused so i stared to Google around numbers and addresses and came across this page.. he was asking me to send 119.00 by money order for the billing software... when i was talking he never really asked about my credentials. he also gave me a a confirmation number. its terrible how this jack Davis thinks he can do such a thing to people who truly want to better themselves.

This number did not call us but has been using our name in ads and has been placing ads and having the bill sent to our practice.  We are not affiliated with this home billing AT ALL!!  Our attorney is in the process of tracking down who owns this 800 number.  If you respond to this ad, please know that it is not affiliated with M&M Orthopaedics.

Our company, American Medical Billing Association, is not affiliated or associated with this scammer, whatsoever. This guy is preying on out of work people who are desperate to earn money. He only takes money orders because he knows you can't ever get a refund on your money. If you paid with a credit card, you could reverse the charges once you found out it was a scam and he knows this. The BBB has this man's identity listed as James Caldecort. It looks like he is running ads and charging them to other unsuspecting companies and then scamming people out of money with the promise of work. We've seen scams like this before, but never one where the ads are charged to others. I only hope that people do their homework and check a company out thoroughly before investing their money. Medical billing as a business is viable, but it takes hard work and more than a $199 investment.

He gave me the same address and the name American medical Billing Company.

I saw an add and called him. He called me back and gave me the name Jack Davis. He asked about my back ground. and sounded very legit. But when I look up American medical billing Company the address does not match.  So I am beginning to think it is not legit. I looked up just the address and it is not even findable, But a close one is another medical company. It is too good to be true. Shoot.  Also the # he called me back on was private. I thought all businesses had to show up as a name on caller ID. I left a message telling him I cant find his address as a legit one and must have written it wrong. I will see if he calls back.

Jack Davis is a FRAUD!!! This company does NOT exist!!! He didn't even know my name upon returning my call re: his "at home billing" ad in Career Builder. I called the mail box place he wanted me to send money to in Bakersfield and they confirmed it is indeed a SCAM. He seems to be an elder man and plays up the part of being a kind person on the phone, making jokes, and compliments so that you feel like you are not being played as a fool for falling into his trap. People beware and do your research! If it seems too good to be true - IT ALWAYS IS! Go with your first instinct and don't steer away from that. I wanted this to be true so badly because, who doesn't need money in these times. But, after my due diligence, I did not lose out on my money.

I got a call from Jack Davis and he said he owns American society Billing and you have to pay $199 to get your software and he will help you set up a home billing business.

I had replied to the same add.  He did not even repeat my name when he called back.  I researched and saw that the address is located at a corner of a highway when you just put the physical address not including the suite #.  So I called left message about BBB rating them as "F" and that why cost of the software when most programs can be copied as well as needing a money order.  Guess what I have not had any reply back so I believe it is a get rich quick scam.  This is just to update those of you who wanted some more imput.

This number is in the Huntsville Times and they are calling this a work from home medical billing practice based in Bakersfield, CA. Iet was offered by a guy named Jack Davis and he wants interested individuals to send $199 for the software and he gives a confirmation # when you call for this software. Someone tried to place an ad with this phone number in it and was charging it to another medical practice. When I called the medical practice, they knew nothing about it. We DID NOT run the ad; it's a scam and you have to pay $199 for their software, etc. Apparently they are doing this all over the country; we are located in Tryon, NC.

FINE AND UPSTANDING COMPANY, most of the above post have been put there by there by rival company's.They do a good job and pay well.

I also saw the ad in the Midland Daily News, Midland, MI.  I called the number and left a message on voicemail for them to call me back.  Jack Davis called and gave me the same information.  I asked him if they had a website and he referred me to www.americanbilling.com, which comes up American Business Systems.  Even though he said that they already had doctors in the area who wanted this service, the website says that you have to get your own clients with help from marketing tools that will be provided.  When I asked him about this, he said that was for doctors . . . huh?  Why would doctors need to get clients for medical billing.  There were several things that he said that were contradictory and I was suspicious.  That and the fact that they only take money orders threw up a red flag.  I also asked him if there was a contract and he told me that it would come with my software.  Might as well flush your money down the toilet.  Usually when something is too good to be true . . . it is!

I seen the ad here in Oak Grove Mo. the ad stated: MEDICAl BILLER Busy local practice strong computer skills, attention to detail. $13-$14/hr depending on experience. 877-748-5820. I called this ad and the man there only wanted my money and did not want to give much information He said they were not listed with the BBB and did not even know what that was. He said was listed with the AMA and Chamber of Commerce. He listed the ad as company named Kansas City Pain center but he told me the name of his Company was American Billing Systems and the web address was the same. He said i would get emailed 50 claims to enter on Monday then i would have to enter them by that following weekend that i would be paid every Wed. He said i would only need to pay $199.00 for the software and they would not accept credit cards he would not give me any more information unless i was ready to buy the program...

I'm in the same boat as you, literally. I paid for the software, it took two weeks to get here, and not only can I not get Jack Davis or James Brucner to return my calls, but the software doesn't even open when I put the disc in. I feel like a total idiot, but have been looking for something to supplement my income and thought this was my answer. Boy, was I wrong. I hope others out there aren't as naive as I was and check this guy out before they send off their hard earned money. Worst part is he's knowingly taking advantage of people in today's economy, and totally getting away with it :(

I ordered the software from the same guy Jack Davis. They did send me software with all kinds of stuff on it that appears to be medically related but then after they tell you to read the tutorial which is 268 pages long, they direct you to call customer service which is the same number to get started.  My paperwork said I would get claims to process starting 6/14/10, well I have no claims and have left numerous messages and no one is calling me back!  So I guess I do have software like they said but no job!!!

This was an ad for *BLIND* company on career builder for medical/clerical.  Glad I googled the number!

Jack Davis called me in response to a call I made to him after viewing his ad in our local paper in a southern town in GA. He said it was for processing medical claims and paid $4-$7 per claim and each one took about 15 minutes to do. I ask him why doctors would leave such up to strangers when they have assistants or nurses that can do it. His reply was that they had been doing it since 1992 that way because it was cheaper for them than dealing with the insurance companies. There is supposedly a 90 day money back guarantee if you are unsatisfied. I am sure it is a scam but am curious to know if there is  anyone out there who ordered the software and received it and actually got paid to file a claim?

The ad for medical billing was listed on the ohio unemployment website. Then it took me to the Cleveland Plain Dealer website where it listed the toll free phone number. Jack Davis called me back and said to send a money order to Backersfield California #64 which is a place where people rent mail boxes. After googling the number I immediately new it was a SCAM!!. He uses Network Health as a front since there is a webpage for them.

I saw this ad in the local paper and Left a message. I received a call from a Jack Davis. He told me all the same information and when i asked for references he said he couldnt give out personal information. I asked him if he would be willing to contact some of the people who bought the program and have them call me and he just said to go to the website. I tried to find the site, but couldn't. I think that this is a scam. Thank you for telling me. I also am a single mom with a little boy. I recently lost my job so this would have killed my bank account.

Apparently they are doing this all over. I work for a newspaper in Tryon, NC and took an ad for a Med-Surg dermatology center, which was to be billed to another medical facility. When I called that facility they said they did not know anything about a dermatology center. We did not run the ad.
