It IS a legit collection agency. Bay Area Credit Services. In my case, they're collecting for an old ATT bill I had during a rough financial time. They refuse to set up a payment schedule. I told them that I could possibly pay the entire ammount (put down $100) by May 2nd. After the rep spent a good twenty minutes trying to convince I DID have the money now. I finally said "You can talk till you're blue in the face. It's not going to make the money magically appear in my account. I'll call back on May 2nd" (which I will do). I hung up. This was 4 days ago and they called again today!! I said "I'll call on May 2nd. Good-bye." We'll see how many more i get.

This number has called my son's cell phone. A male left a message a few weeks ago and said he was a collection agent. He had a NE USA accent. My son is 15 and doesn't have any credit accounts. I seriously doubt he's a debt collector or any other kind of legitimate caller.

I receive calls from this number daily,.  there is no one there.  They have me on a machine.  It is so annoying.   I have an att phone and pay my bill monthly.  Don't know why they are calling.

Called my fiances phone wanting thousands of dollars. Sent him a bill wanting thousands of dollars. Claimed they were through AT&T. He has never had AT&T. Now they are calling me wanting money. These people don't even speak English, and are nothing but nasty and unprofessional. I told the guy I would call him tomorrow to give him my bank account information. Right after I hung up with him I called AT&T directly and complained and wanted to know exactly who they send this past due bill to. Needless to say I was informed by several different AT&T employees and they all confirmed my gut feeling....This credit agency is a scam and they are not affiliated with the Bay Area Credit Services... Payment arrangments were made so I could pay AT&T directly, instead of through a third party. I called these so called debt collectors back and question their integrity. This rep tweaked out on me calling me stupid and yelling over the top of me. I told him where he could cram that past due bill, not to contact me or my fiance agian and hung up the phone. Don't answer, and if you do do not give out any information... Ask them who they are and what they want. Once you get your answer hang up and call AT&T directly or stop into a local store to ask some questions......

Collection agency for AT&T.  Called because I do owe AT&T.  The man on the phone was extremely rude and began to yell at me when I wouldn't give him payment information over the phone.  I requested he send me everything by mail and hung up.  I called AT&T and had my account pulled out of collections to make my payments directly to AT&T.  Informed AT&T of the collection agency's  behavior.  Hopefully, if enough people call, they'll find another company to use and all the Middle Eastern's can find jobs back in their own country.

has anyone tried to locate who is hosting this 877 number and reported it yet? most of the 800 number providers want to know if there number is being used in this fashion.

Also kept prying. he obtained my mobile # illegally. You can call back get their address and report
to Attorney General.

Got a call from this number and a guy, he does not want to tell me who he is and way he is calling stared to ask me questions like ho I am. He spoke with an accent and asked a lot of questions but he refuse to tell me why he called my number so I hang up. He called again and I could hear him breathing but he didn?t talk. Is this a stalker?

Why do we register our phones on the do not call list if that list doesn't do what it states it will do? We still get calls from harrassing companies. I wonder if these companies give the information they collected over to the government. Since the Freedom Act was created there are less and less liberties of freedom for the American Citizen.

Bay Area Credit Services 877-749-6899  CALLED PHISHING FOR MY SSN. BEWARE

This number repeatedly has called my house but when I ask who they are and what they are calling about, they just say we are looking for XYZ person" and do I have another phone to reach them... I called the number back and started to ask what type of company they are and if it's a collection agency, they just say their a CREDIT REFERRAL AGENCY when in fact they are a collection agency and by law they are suppose to disclose this information which they don't.  I threatend to call the Attorney General and file a formal compliant at which time the rep immediately stated he would remove my number and cease calling.  This company uses a program called SCREEN POP that tells them the number you are calling from and then they reference that number with their internal records to get information.  DO NOT PROVIDE THEM ANYTHING... advise them to send what every information they are requesting via mail.... otherwise they do not stop harrassing you!

I also recd this person from the middle east calling me on my cell phone. I also asked who they were without giving any of my information. He explained he was calling on behalf of AT&T.

Called at 7pm on 9/25/12. I don't answer numbers I don't recognize and they didn't leave a message. Didn't bother calling them back.

They called my grandfather asking for me today. I called them back and the person that answered was middle eastern. I hung up and called back, another man answered the phone (that was also middle eastern). I told him I received a message to call them. He asked for my phone number and I told him, "You called my grandfather and I don't know how you received that number." He asked for my grandfather's phone number and I told him I didn't have the number on me (I was not about to give out anyone's numbers). He said, "Without a phone number, I cannot give you any information." I said, "Who are you with and maybe I will know what you needed" He said, "This is Bay Area Credit Services and we work with AT&T" I confirmed he said AT&T, he said yes. I hung up on him.

This call came in and I didn't answer it as it was on my cell phone and I didn't recognize the number.

I decided to call it and see who it was, and if a telemarketer, to have them remove my number from their list.

It was answered as: Bay Area Credit Services

They asked if I was Tina (so'n'so). I told them no, then she confirmed the number and I said yes, then she said she would remove my number.

Just one question... How did they know what the number was? They didn't ask. So it must show up on a caller id. Not ever have I heard of a professional business having caller id!

We are getting chronic anonymous calls looking for someone with our same last name. The calls come several times daily (and nightly) We don't answer numbers we don't recognize, so the caller leaves a recorded message for the person in question to call back BUT the message never identifies the caller.

Today the message was more revealing. The caller is not native to the USA, so she is hard to understand, but she finally identified herself as Amy Harris calling for Payeez Up Credit Service. I can't find anything like that online, so I may not understand her accent. There should be some way to keep people from leaving anonymous recorded messages. I'm sure they are NOT all non-profits with legitimate calls.

877-749-6899 is a thief.  Do not answer or say yes if they asked for your name, SSN, address.  Been warning them but they still call. Had filled a Police report for harassment.

Received a call from this number while at work.  Did not answer, but they left a voicemail.  It was short, but consisted of background noise sounding like a large number of people talking, most likely the background noise at a call center.
