The number you are talking about is a collection agency they call and harass people even if they don't owe money for some reason even after reporting them to the Ministry of Consumer Services in Ontario. joedi@collectcents.com Collect Cent has a different web page with a different phone number but it is this guy Joe that they put you through when you want to complain he's actually worst than the other people who call if thats possible.  I think the best way to handle these people is to avoid them, don't answer the calls.  Maybe Joe has a friend at the Ministry of Consumer Services because he has been getting away with this abuse for some time.  The way the people talk that work for him I would guess that they are drop outs, maybe have a record and can't get a job anywhere else.  Telus and Rogers seem to use them the most, complain to Telus and Rogers but I would stop using both companies since they don't seem to care who they deal with.  Oh by the way even if you don't owe the money they don't care they say they will call and call over and over until you pay even if you don't owe the money.

I had some calls from this number at my work. These people are scum of the earth.
I put these people on legal notice not to call. These people are rude and if they are stupid enough to buy bad debt then they can eat it as well. People should not pay monies to this or any collection agency. Your credit is affected either way. There is a 7 year statute of limitation so whether you pay or not you will have bad credit. Any activity with these companies only makes matters worse for you. If you feel some moral obligation to pay your debt to these sharks I suggest you offer 10 cents on the dollar. Believe me thats all its worth. Don't believe anything they say and don't ever fear these people. they have no legal recourse. Any questions just ask me.

This number has continuously called my home at all times of the day or night.....I have no outstanding debts with any person or company,never have,never will......I consider this harrassment and wish the calls to stop.....If I had dated this person at any time during my lifetime  they would be arrested immediately......Why are there no laws to protect us from this kind of harrassment??

I think it is this number, or one very similar, that goes something like:

"Hello, I am calling about a very time-sensitive business matter. Now, this is not a telemarketing or a solicitation call..."

I've heard it so many times it's hard not to memorize.

I have no idea why they are calling me.  I owe nothing besides the normal balances which are paid on time etc... I have call display so never pick up but they leave those ridiculous call us back it's urgent messages, which I delete DAILY!

This caller/company has been calling me and friends of mine off and on for years.  They never identify the name of the company or say why they are calling.
I have reported this company to the CRTC and the BBB, and all it seems to have done is a temporary stoppage of the calls.  My next step is to talk to my lawyer about having harrassement charges filed against this company, as they call at all hours of the day and even on weekends and statuatory holidays, yet if you try to call them back, you end up on hold and, if you're patient enough to wait, you always find that the person you were told to call back is not available.

This number calls my home numerous times a week, the issue had been dealt with and they refuse to stop calling my house. I wish for them to stop calling and disrupting my home.

This number has been calling my cell phone for about 1 year now. I have excellent credit so they must have my number confused with someone else.  When they call they only leave  a message (never a live person) and when I call the number provided (1-877-766-7690) I only get voicemail.  i did some research today and the company is collectcorp and their Compliance officer is Joyce Morrison at 416-961-9622 and fax number is 647-722-6026. I sent them off a letter telling them I would complain to the privacy commisserioner and office of consumer affairs. Hopefully the phonecalls will stop. I can't understand what kind of credit company they run when you can't even speak to them live.  How do they expect to recover money from people?  I suggest anyone else getting a call from this company send a written letter to them.  Also, if anyone has been successful in getting your name off their call list please let me know what worked. This number has been calling me for more than a year now, I tried calling back to get my number off their list but there is no one picking up.  It will ask you hold while its connecting your call and it just cuts off.  I am sick and tired off with this.  Apparently the phone company can't even trace this or block off this number.

Started to let the phone ring and the message, very bleak message, says I have to call asap and aske for MR Nixon, as this is not a telemarketing call and is urgent buiseness matter.
What they fail to say, is who the call is for and on who's behalf they are calling!!!!
So, until this company learns how to leave a proper message they can expect my call back say.... WHEN THEY GET A CLUE !!!

They have been calling me for 8 months straight about another woman's account and when they say I'm off the list I get a call at 7:15 the next day, me personally I went to the cops, I don't have to be harrassed because they are a poor company with NO MANAGEMENT!!!!!!!! Very Bad, I'm the GM of a fast food chain, the one thing you don't tell ppl, is there is no supervisor to talk to!!!!

this number calls my house more than 5 times a week, if i pick it up it's dead air, if it leaves a message it says this is a message for so  and so please call back this number right away... WTF for they never leave a name or anything it's rather annoying especially at 7 in the morning

I received 10+ calls from this number within a month. If I pick up and not talking(or making any sound)~ it hangs up~ If i talk, there would be a greeting saying it is a serious call telling me to call back~

it must be scammer~ thats what i think~ why collection agency would do that?

I received a call (message) from this # (1-877-766-7690) this morning.
Hint that it came from a "non-human" caller (that is, a recorded speaker), since the message began in mid-sentence, past the part where their name may have been mentioned.  The "caller" did not bother to wait until my answering machine greeting stopped, before starting to leave their message.
Was curious, and finding this on-line note as to the number's probably telemarketing/scamming is helpful.

The best thing to do when they call you an actually have a person talking to you, trying to get info etc. is to start getting angry, cursing, making idle threats, basically harassing them so you get black listed to them. You may think that its rude or vulgar, but really, what are they doing to you?

I just called 1 877 766 7690 and I got connected to "collect corp". Like everyone else I was receiving calls about 2 times a week at 5:30 am. when I phoned, I was connected to a HUMAN! I asked why the phone number was calling me, and I gave her my phone number. The person on the other end asked me if I was "Mrs. XXX". Obviously that wanst my name. I told the lady that I have had my phone number for 3 months, and that perhaps that person was listed under myphone number before. The lady said she will delete the number. Lets wait to see what happens!

The calls are coming from a collection company called Collect Corp.

They phoned this morning at 9:30am and also sent a text message with only their phone number and "urgent".  I used Skype to call and got an answering machine.  I just got a new pay-as-you-go cell phone, so no one has my number. I'm paying for airtime and text messages for harassment.

Profile Canada lists the info below on Collect Corp. If you dial the first phone number you will get their corporate voice mail system. If you dial the toll free number you get a solicitation to call a date line.  Sounds like a reputable company...

I Started Getting Calls From This #8777667690, They Have 3 Other Ones That They Use As Well. I told Them That I'm Not Working Disabled And Collecting CPP Disability And Welfare tops It Up For Basic Living Expences. I Also told Them I Can't Afford A Bankruptcy Trustee Out Of These Funds.I Also told Them to Take Me to Court As I Dont Own Anything Of Value Including A house Or Car. They Send Me Threatening Letters All Of The time One Which One Was So Funny It Said They Have Imformation That I'm Employed And They Would Garnish My Wages LOL Please Tell Me Where I Work so At Least I Would Know.The Original Creditor That They Represent Has Been Sent A Registered Letter Informing Them Of My Situation Including Cheque Stubs To Prove It. I Trust This Has Been Passed On With My File To Collectcorp. I Wish I Could Pay But I Can't On $906 A Month (under half The Insolvancy Rate Of $1836) I Also Have 3 Other Creditors If I Could Pay One I'd Have To Pay All Of Them Impossible. Also The Last time I spoke to Them In August The woman Was So Very Rude She Wouldn't Let Me Get A Word And Made My Already High Blood Pressure Even Higher So I Said to Myself I'm Never Answering Them Again Thank God for Called ID. do not call them back it will put you to a machine call 1-800-900-4238 this will get you a person to speak to and hopefully allow you to find out what exactly is happening.

I received a couple of calls from this number asking for someone that I have clue who they are.  I was on hold for 2 minutes and spoke to a person they said it would be updated.

If you ask for envelope information about the voice mail its says that the call originated at 1-888-890-9074.

Called and said they would put me through to the supervisor. No introduction, no names, no explanation for the call. Just said they would put me to the supervisor. I was on hold for at least 10 minutes and then the call disconnected. Stop wasting my time please.

I get calls from these people ALL the time...they say this is an important message for (Insert name here), if this is (insert name) press 1 to be connected to an agent.

I have pressed 1 and ALL I get is some music and then after 3 minutes it hangs up..keeps calling my cell and I never seem to get to anyone at all. I am thinking of sending these guys to collections for my cell bill since they call so much

received a call from this number.  no idea of company name as it was difficult to understand the company name.  called the number and it was colletcorp or something like that.  asked them to take my name off their file. no response....

I'm flippin' fourteen years old and they called my cellphone just now. I tried to reject the call, but they called again so I just left my phone ringing. My current prepaid plan is like 40 cents a minute, so if I don't know who it is I usually don't pick up.

i called them today to settle up and they answer the phone but don't speak.  i can hear the office talk going on yet nobody says hello - - losers...

They have been calling my house for 5 weeks daily for someone that doesn't live here anymore.  Although they have been advised no to call many times, they said the only way they will stop calling is if I provide them with another phone # for the person they are calling for.  I said I don't have a phone # for them, and I even sent them warnings in writing not to call anymore.  I don't understand why in Canada, we have a right not to be harrassed, but this is considered legal??

Just call the number they give you and tell them to remove your name from their books. If they don't, you can file a complaint against them to your phone company.
