Wow, yep that's what it was then, a scam. My experience was similar, however I got all my card balances transferred to a 3.99% Discover card and kept that balance for a year. I saved about $100 more than I paid them, so it wasn't a total loss. However, now I'm stuck with the after-promotion rate of 17.99% on a $4,000 card and I'm just now figuring out, a year later, that it was bogus. I haven't had any unapproved usage on my cards throughout the year, though it is scary they have all my card numbers and probably my social security number. What should I do now to protect myself? And if they were criminals, why didn't they take advantage of my credit card information already?

Got a call from 425-645-9767 - Card Services. they wanted to lower my interest rate.  I was giving them the run around and they finally hung up. but they did give me the 877-283-7773 -  Alpha Group Advisors.  Which was sorta of the name that the guy on the phone said his company name was. (how would he know being from India or some other non English speaking country).
Google the Phone # and here is the Site: http://www.alphadebtgroup.com/contus.html

Non informative web site but here is their contact info.  Funny how they had a Phone # from Washington calling me.  Why not use their Buisness Phone #?

I to was conned out of the last 4 digits of my social to an alpha group advisors claiming to geve me a lower interest rate, which I found out about 8 days later that they were bogus, So far I have reported it to the Better Business Bureau and changed all my credit card account numbers and took out a $9.99 a month for equifax to mnitor my ss number and all my accounts.  I called my local police in Maryland to give a report to them that I was able to get from the internet some personal information before they had a chance to block or remove the phony company and their phony information. Good luck I am fighting back, and they are going down for trying to use a christian.

I can't believe I fell for it too.  I'm so mad at myself.  They lied to me at first and told me they were with Bank of America, and then later denied it.  They have my social security number now too.  I just signed up for an identity guard service.  I apparently agreed to open up a new citibank card, which will have a $900 bill from a Royal Finance Svc or something.  So pissed!!!  the crook i spoke with was David Berkely, which is weird because i detected a hint of a middle eastern accent.  All three of the jack***es i spoke with did, including the bimbo named Nicki.  I guess I'm the dumbass for falling for it!!!

Same as the rest, lower APR on a credit card. I got taken for $800 by
a James Mayweyther at 888/826/1162/Ex,615. When he answers the phone
he just says "This is James"  no company name. I'm hassling with my
credit card company now to get the $800 removed. It showed up on my
credit card statement I received yesterday and the name was ALPHA GROUP ADVISOR

Hi,
I am sorry for your misfortune...unfortunatley my ederly mother in law fell victim to the same people. We just found out today going through her mail. If you wouldnt mind helping us out because she doesnt remememeber the converstation, we are trying to find out if they asked for social security number that she might have given them. She doesnt even remember giving her CC number but she must have because they billed her card $700. If you have any information on what you were asked for during the phone converstation we would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks Ron Rice, Albuquerque NM

No, I did not receive a call from this number that belongs to a company known as "ALFA Group Advisors," somewhere in Florida.  However, they were the final link in a telephone scam that I let myself be suckered into.  It began with an unwanted call from "Card Services" at 402-982-0763; the call was an "offer" to permanently lower interest rates on credit cards.  They then transferred me to "Financial Consulting Services" at 888-889-8025, and the final step in the scam is having your credit card billed by this "ALFA Group Advisors" company -- their number 877-777-4464 will appear with the charge on your credit card for the bogus "services" performed by "Financial Consulting Services." If you ever want to change your mind or get your money back, even a few hours after you realize you've made a mistake, good luck.  I've filed a complaint about this whole string of calls and events at the Federal Trade Commission website:  https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/
